:3 Well, my mum is from England and over there they don't celebrate the 4 of July; For them it's just another day. And that's how my mother brought us up! But, that doesn't mean I won't go see fireworks and go see friends, and what not. I'll admit every year it's fun!

.o. well I appear to have missed quite a bit of action around here.. Sorry for the lack of posting. I thought I would have more free time during this break from school but it's been quite the opposite. Thanks again for your birthday wishes<3 @Pen: Thanks for the art~<3 x3 i love it!
and now I have some good news and bad news to relay in the form of a summary of the past week or so.
[Absence Explanation and Birthday Celebration]
So, I think I mentioned my birthday plans before, but I'll reiterate for the sake of convenience. My parents had planned to take me to the Fashion District in Los Angeles, the area where they sell fabric in particular, so that I could stock up on cool fabric at super low prices. From there we were going to browse Little Tokyo, have a nice lunch, and do some more shopping, then head home. Somewhere after that plan was initialized, my mother thought it would be a good idea to take a train into LA and use the metro system for the day so we wouldn't have to worry about parking and traffic and junk. Unfortunately, seeing as I had finals and my parents both work all day, we never got around to actually finding information on where to catch a train in. Each of us thought the other had already found the information out, so when the day came and nobody had directions, things got a little hectic. We ended up driving to Pasadena and catching the Gold Line in to LA. One of the first stops was China Town, so we decided to get out and explore a little. It was pretty neat, and I got a strawberry phone charm for my Zune. Then we got back on the train and ended up at Union Station which, for anyone who's never been to LA, is the central hub for all metro activity in LA. We figured from there it would be simple enough to find out what bus would take us to the fabric district, but all we could find where the train and subway routes... none of which got close to where we needed to be. Eventually we just went to Little Tokyo and did some shopping, had a great meal, and checked out the hotel Foxi and I would be staying at for Anime Expo. Foxi also bought me a Shizuo [from Durarara!!] keychian while we were there. When we got to the hotel, we asked to front desk how to get to the fashion district from the hotel, and the lady outlined a route for us on a map. ...unfortunately it lead right through a seriously scary part of downtown LA... and we ended up catching the first bus out of there before getting anywhere near our destination. All in all it was a pretty fun day though~ .o. I also bought Dragon Age: Origins for the 360 on my birthday, so I spent most of the next week playing that and falling in love with the characters [quite literally as almost all of them are romanceble]. Then I worked most of the week, and I was packing all day Friday until I went to spend the night with Foxi so we could leave early Saturday morning [we ended up leaving around 6:30 am]. Saturday: Anime Expo Day 2... but day 2 for us, lol.. We got checked in to the hotel around 9:30 I believe, the the checkout time wasn't until noon, and the check in time wasn't until 3, so we left our bags with the hotel and went to go pick up our badges. I had mentioned to Foxi that, because it was already Day 2, there probably wouldn't be as many people in line as there are the first day. ....I was wrong. We stood in line for about 3 hours, saw someone dressed as a Doctor from Assassin's Creed suffer from heatstroke and throw up, ran into someone dressed as a human GLaDOS with the different personality cores attached to a headband, and saw at least a dozen people dressed as Ash from Pokemon all before we got inside. The rest of the day went pretty well, we wandered around until it was check in time, then figured out our train route and went back to the hotel so I could change into my Axel costume. It was interesting gauging peoples' reactions to the giant spiked red wig and full body black vinyl coat as I got on the subway considering that our hotel was nowhere near the convention center. As soon as we got about 2 stops away, people started understanding that we were with the convention, but the people on the other stops seemed so confused~<3 I got tons of people taking pictures of me as Axel both on Saturday [when I was in the Organization 13 coat, and on Sunday when I was in my casual outfit], and Foxi got multiple compliments on her steampunk goggles and hair accessory. We geeked out over the Durarara!! panel on Sunday which featured most of the English voice acting cast. I was skeptical about their casting at first, but they all seemed to be fans of the show already, and kept making references to all the yaoi slash between characters<3 |D it's always good to know that the voice actors support your favorite slash pairings... 8D I bought a pair of leather arm shackles and a collar with a pretty bell, and a poster of Grimmjow, and an adorable AkuRoku print, and some more cute phone charms, and now I'm broke. Which sucks epically because yesterday when I got home I found out that my church had a business meeting while I was at AX and they decided to sell the Thrift Store I work at... so I just spent all my money and now I'm losing my job. Gotta love that post-con depression...
[/Absence Explanation and Birthday Celebration]
I'll post some pictures of the cake my parents got me for my b-day on DA as well as all my AX loot and the only picture I have of myself from the con.
And I'll respond to what I've missed in another post.. this one is already freakishly long

@~@" aiyah.... we've got a thunderstorm going on over here. Bugger rolled right in out of nowhere, we saw a pole smoking from where a transformer blew on our way home.. I'm really hoping that we don't get our power shut off tonight because it's like, 98 degrees and super humid from the storm. x~X;;
@The Main: .o. I had something planned for Koji in the future.. but I guess I didn't act on it fast enough... unless I still have room to putz around a bit?
@Dear Diary: I want to post, I do... but every time I try I can't think of what to write.. :/ I'm stuck3
D: and I'm totally in the mood to do like... a million things right now, and I can't decide what I should choose...
@Gaia's Pie Hard event: <.<; I totally haven't blown a few thousand gold just to score a few achievements which are totally meaningless... >.>; nope... not me...

@ Koji: (Almost two hours later) About the storm: Actually, storms don't cause humidity. Humidity is actually fuel for storms, sometimes of the severe kind. My good friend Steph, who lives Northwest of me in another town, is going to school for Meteorology and she told me that, and I quote, "Maybe after it rains, sometimes humidity can go up from the moisture". For here, in Minnesota, the temperature tends to drop 10 - 20 degrees after a big storm. That means a cold front has moved in!
About the Main: biggrin I think we still have plenty of time! biggrin We can say that you were off doing something else!
About D.D.: Don't worry about it. Just take your time- Don't force it, just let it come to you.
The Pie Event: XD I stopped doing the event on the first day because I realized how much gold I was actually losing! XD LOL!

@Random: I'm finally on the last episode of Durarara!! @o@; have I mentioned how in love with this series I am? =w=; The music too<3
@The Storm: .x.; yes, it was raining pretty hard, so there's tons of moisture in the air, which is making it feel all humid and icky. It seems to have passed now though, and we never had out power shut off, lol.
@The Main: Okie Dokie.. it probably won't take too long. I just need to get the visual reference for future Koji from Foxi. .o.;
@The Pie Event: >.>; yeah.. I got enough to get the first item and 3 achievements.. then I realized it's just not worth it.

@ Koji: The random: I think you have once or twice! XD I know that my Vice Captain in CHAOS (Saku) got me into HSOTD (High School Of The Dead), and my sister got me into Tokko. "Boobs and Violence" Saku and I love to call it! It's fun stuff! X3
The Storm: My power has never gone out during a storm before. I feel pretty lucky! lol
The main: Yeah, just take your time on it! biggrin
The Pie event: : / I wanted Moira to win, too. . .
