Thus satisfied for the moment, the Countess plopped on Noivern's head and bombarded the Pokémon with questions concerning flight. What was it like, flying with such powerful wings? Were there benefits to evolving? Was the Noivern still interested in hanging out with her?

While the Zubat was chatting away, Rei turned his attention to his watch.

"Oh, Countess, the park should be open right now." He pulled out a Poké Ball, sending out his Trapinch. The Pokémon, having overheard the amusement park comment, immediately hopped around Rei's legs and danced to its heart's content.

"Ha, alright, alright. We'll go right now," he said, extending the invitation to Caleb.

"I hear the park has a lot of things for people and Pokémon to do. Care to join?"

As the small group walked their way to Nimbasa City, Rei noticed the wind was relatively calm on Route 4.

"Huh. Perhaps the urbanization of the land will transform this desert area into something new," he wondered aloud. He made a mental note to study the area further on his own free time. Rei's thoughts lingered for a moment to his latest work, but he pulled himself out of them. He had all week to think about jet packs for Trapinch and more efficient explosion techniques for his Voltorb.

Turning his attention to his ally, Rei asked, "So, Caleb, what have you been up to lately? I've been a shut-in for about a week now. Too much research."

Rei's eyebrows raised in surprise at the mention of fossils.

"Wow. It seems like there's a lab like that in every region. I wonder if it's all technology from the same company." Rei considered the sail fossil he still had in his pocket.

"Perhaps we should take a visit to this place sometime. I'd like to see a fossil become a Pokémon." The two walked past the gates to Nimbasa City. Even in daytime, the place looked active and bustling. The roller coasters and Ferris wheels could be seen from where they stood, stores proudly displayed their goods along the streets, and huge stadiums loomed over the horizon.

"The pamphlet wasn't kidding when it said there was plenty to do here," Rei said, surprised. "Anything around here catching your eye, or do you want to head straight to the amusement park?"

Cody busted onto the scene, unaware of what was going on around him. All he knew is that, for once, people were actually around and it wasn't even the weekend. Feeling proud of his fellow guild members, he felt himself starting to smile - something he had been struggling with doing for a while now. In an excited tone, he asked, "What's going on? What's the occasion?"

Not far behind him, Fraxure came spilling over the hill, tumbling down and coming to a stop at the boy's feet.
"Well, that was a little over the top. Don't you think?" Cody questioned, shaking his head at his pokemon.

Cody looked to Rei with a wave and a warm smile.
"Indeed it has," he replied, following the boy's gaze down to his pokemon. "Don't mind him. He's just really clumsy."

Reaching down and grabbing Fraxure's hand, the trainer hoisted his pokemon up onto his shoulders and walked closer to the group. It was that moment that Rei had finished talking that confusion struck.

"Wait, so am I joining you at the amusement park? Or am I joining you here?" he asked, scratching and tilting his head as he followed the two Aquans blindly.

Caleb sighed as he took out his wallet. Of course you had to pay to go in. He should've known. Silly Caleb. Amusement parks aren't free. Reluctantly, Caleb paid the woman and retrieved his pass. "Where to first?" he asked.

Noivern shrugged. Looks like she was too big for this ride. Seeing a Noivern try to sit in one of the cars would be pretty hilarious though. She patted the Countess.

Caleb pondered for a moment. Only so many of his pokémon even had hands. He let out Marshtomp. Marshtomp looked around, seemingly confused. He then spun around and looked at Caleb, grinning wide with his eyes all big and sparkly looking.
