Jimaine Szardos What kind of classics? I imagine the term means something very different to me than it does you. I grew up on the cusp of Vaudeville. Classics are songs from the 20s, especially jazz music and the blues. Though a good Vaudeville song never loses its kick. The rat pack. Classic. That whole era. Deadly classic. Where singers wore suits and gowns and didn't trapse around on the stage like tarted up harlots.

I go for a wide variety of music, but Sinatra just makes me happy. Plain and simple. As for Billie...my playlist is a jazz overload. She's got to have some prominence.

((I'm actually speaking purely in character up there. I--the handler--tend to listen to primarily post-rock, industrial, and instrumental. Though I really do have a fondness for Sinatra and Holiday, as well as a lot of the old-time blues.))

(( I've no idea what Wanda likes, I'm giving her whatever personality I think she should have now and whatever it closest to her first appearencs. Hence the hexing instead of some weird chaos magic stuff. My own tastes are really wide though. My playlist right now is heavily instrumental, especially Apocolyptica, Bowie and Queen era rock, German industrail and lots of Flogging Molly type stuff. like I said. Wide.))

((Flogging Molly is wonderfully fun. Personally, I've recently been jumping between a punk-kick, so I'm listening to fo'k like The Slackers, and a mellow kick, with fo'k like Nizlopi.))

((I suppose I should insert my 'Days at the Chocolate Store' story of the month in about here.
Last week, this group of kids come into the store "Got any samples?" We told them that we didn't. Then one of the guys asked for a glass of water. Again we said we couldn't do that. "Come on. How about this? This guy here [he points to his buddy] will sing if you guys give us a sample. I'll settle for water." I just kind of looked at the Manager and the visiting Training Manager with a look that said 'up to you'. So his friend asked what we wanted to hear and we all didn't care. "You guys like Sinatra?" We all nodded and said sure. I was in a shocked/amazed state for the rest of the night. This kid (okay he may have been about 15-16) could wail. He sang 'Come Fly with Me' so incredibly well. So yeah we offered samples and the one guy got his glass of tap water. After they left we were saying that we should offer samples again if he comes back and sings to draw customers into the store.))

(( I saw them last month. It was great stuff. I've gone off punk lately, probably due to over stauration in the previous year. I'm going towards more instrumental music lately and I've been hunting for more original composers. I've got a little transiberian and lot of apocolyptica and whatever Kronos Quartet I can find.))

((If you're into instrumental, I must recommend Mogwai's new album Mr Beast, or any Tristeza record you can find. Godspeed You! Black Emperor is pretty good, but their songs are so long that they can grow tired. Explosions in the Sky is another fabulous instrumental band, and their song Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean is one of my favourite tracks.))
Well, this should be interesting. *stomps her feet*
