Yeah, me neither. The PMing is also pretty useful for keeping in touch w/ some other people by avenues other than e-mail.

PMing is basically email for Gaia . . . a self-contained contact method that allows you to write all you wish and send at once in a private medium that nobody can see without your permission. mrgreen

E-mails have 0 privacy, and the way they "quote" past conversations is messy at best in my opinion. But yes, they are otherwise similar.

Well, technically nothing has any privacy if you try hard enough. sweatdrop

While this is true, e-mails are essentially digital postcards. xp

Very true. I meant they are private within reason . . . not everybody will be able to see them.

The only information I send via email is information that the people I want it kept secret from will not be able to see. ninja

Of course, most people do not have the skills/knowledge to understand how to intercept or sniff an e-mail, though it is legal (as is borrowing internet service from an unsecured [not password-protected] router).

Alas, no. In fact, things went sour. I made some comments to the assistant manager, and she went to the owners. The owners name-dropped me to the people I was upset at (manager and his brother-in-law), so now I am facing a manager that wants me gone, and his family member that is pissed. My next day off is sunday, so this is going to be a long week.

Wow, that's incredibly immature of both the assistant manager and the owners... The manager being immature was already well-established from a previous mention of your workplace. I am truly sorry for your current situation.

Well, to be fair, this was an issue that the Asst Manager needed to take up to the owners. What was done affected the store, and telling the manager he dun did bad is ineffective. Of course, today the asst manager asked that she be outed as the one who made the call. So I am off the hook, but now she is being told her job is over by the manager.
she is my friend, and I like her. Hell, I have a crush on her- and tell her that often. We all know that nothing is going to happen, so the flirts are playful. If she is gone, I will sorely miss her.

OH! Sorry, I took comments as you saying your opinion of the Manager, not bringing up the legitimate problems w/ the Manager. That was my misunderstanding. I am glad that your Assistant Manager did the right thing and is choosing to take responsibility. I'm amazed the Owners don't fire the Manager rather than leaving the Assistant Manager is such a hostile situation; at the very least, the Assistant Manager should be protected to some degree for to being a whistle-blower.
