Cassidy dropped the book a startled look on her face as he spoke. She had been concentrating so hard on not evesdropping she hadn't noticed anything.
"Hi, Shadow," she said with a weak smile. She held one of her arms at the elbow bend as a nervous look played in her eyes. "I-I didn't mean to interupt you, Shadow. Who were you talking to; can I meet her?" Cassidy said with a bit of a hopefull glance. "I don't know to many people. Not to mention I don't have many, if any friends." She bit her lip nervously and said, "I'm sorry for running out you yesterday, I-I had some stuff to take care of." As soon as she spoke she bit her lip harder she knew how lame her lie had sounded.

"I was taliking to Alince and Sakura. Alice is the same age as you by the way, I'm sure you two would get on great." he said with a smile before speaking in a wisper. "Sakura is a child from Alice's orphanage but Sakura thinks Alince is her mother. Also try not to let on what we are. I don't want to scare the little girl." Shadow looked over his shoulder then spoke louder again. You never interupt me Cassidy. You need to remember that." he walked up to Cassidy and huged her. He knew she wasn't telling him the truth but he didn't want to force her to talk, so he accepted it. "Come lets go and sit in the dinning room. Remember, no hints to what we are."

"Oh," Cassidy said with a smile. "Alice, that's such a pretty name. Aww a child. They're so cute!" Cassidy happily hugged him back and momentarily nestled her head to his neck. Releasing him she followed him to the dining room and sat down. She smiled at the two of them and said, "Hello, I take it you're Alice," Cassidy said nodding to the elder girl, "And you, must be Sakura!" Cassidy said with a soft sheepish smile. She was almost socially retarded (XD)

Shadow sat in his chair and drank what remained in his glass. He had hoped that the little one didn't get curious as to what it contained. He leaned into the back of his chair and lit a cig and taking a long draw. It was nice for him to have Cassidy close. His mind wasn't drifting and it was no longer silent. "You look exhausted Cassidy. Didn't sleep well I take it?" he said.

Satsuki stopped crying and whiped the tears from her eyes. Her eyes werent red from all the crying. She stood up and left the library before walking into the dinning room needing a drink.

Cassidy sat in the chair breathing deeply. She wasn't hungry but she was craving a smoke. She smiled at Shadow's presence he always set her at peace. "No, I didn't, I-I had stuff on my mind, that's all." She forced another week smile knowing that he wouldn't buy into the load of crap she was feeding him. "How did you sleep Shadow?"

Shadow let out a sigh. He decided to answer her question first before asking what was on her mind. "I slept very well last night." he said as he smoked. he brought out what was left of his pack and placed it on the table along with his lighter. "Now then. What is bothering you. I know you are not being entierly truthful with me here. I am not angry or mad at you for disapearing last night, you have your reasons for it but I want you to be able to talk to me. Please tell me." he said almost pleading with her to let him in.

Cassidy sighed she could never hide anything from him. And she didn't want to. She quickly lit a sig and took a draw and said, "Somethings been whispering. Something not good, something evil. I can feel it, slinking around this place. I can hear it breathing and thinking. I can't hear what it's saying but it's muffled whispers. Shadow, it's driving me mad." Cassidy's eyes glanced about nervoulsy and said, "I can't take much more of this!"[/size ]

"What do the voices say and what do they sound like?" Shadow asked, deeply concered about what Cassidy was hearing and even more concerned about her last statment. He put an arm round her shoulders and pulled her a little closer to him. "We will get through this together Cassidy. Just try to relax." he said, concern still overwhelming his voice.

Cassidy dashed out the cig in the ash tray and moved onto his laps and huddled in his arms. She tried to relax but she was scared. "I don't know I can't understand him, or her. I don't know. They just whisper, death, kill, pain, soon, wait...I hear those sometimes. The voice is scary."

Kave sauntered through the manor, his feet making an unusual heavy thud with each of his steps. His clothes hung loose from his body giving him a unruly appearance.
He made his way outside, standing just outside the door he would begin to gaze up at the stars, a blank stare behind his eyes.

Shadow placed what was left of his cig in the ash tray and wrapped his arms around Cassidy. Shadow was worried about the voice Cassidy spoke of. He wasn't sure what it could be or what to do to stop them from bothering her. He was powerless to do anything about it, just like he was powerless to stop Nadea from dying. It didn't feel good being so helpless. "Don't worry about it. Nothing bad will happen here that we cannot stop." he tried to sound comforting but it wasn't his day. All he could do was hold his lover close and hope for the best.

A soft sigh escaped her full pale lips as she gently broke away from him. "If you say so, I'll try not to worry." She stood and said. "Let's go outside. It's dark." She tugged her corset into place and started to make her way outside. She glanced back to see if Shadow was following her. Once she had stepped out she smiled softly and inhaled deeply. It smelled like gardenias. How she loved their scent. She glanced about and could make out another person. She quickly ducked behind a tree not wanting to be seen.

Kave slumped over a rail. His thirst made his throat feel blistered, his sense of smell was heightened; making it possible for him to smell all the blood in his general area. He couldn't help but to smirk, feeling somewhat accomplished.
Kave looked down at his left hand, the black leather was invisible against the darkness as he took it from his hand; revealing a bone white hand. the black veins like spider webs down to his fingertips.

Shadow stood and followed her out. The cold air hit him as he left the mansion. The scent of the rotting daemons corpse had disapeared. Everything smelt better without that stench in the air. Shadow saw Cassidy duck behind a tree. He tilted his head in confusion and tried to figure out why. In the end he walked over to the tree she was hiding behind. "Who or what are you hiding from?" he asked.
