Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross Chloe Lockheart Bakasensei Cross All he could do in response was stare at her, trying not to chuckle. There was a long pause until he finally said, "There are and even number of doors, doll. There is no middle." He chuckled, but stepped towards the first door out of the three on the right side of the room, opening it for her, "Ladies first, lovely." She felt herself flush at her idiocy again and decided not to comment on it...letting her thoughts beat her up instead. She didn't show it on the outside however, she kept her smile and thanked Cross for holding the door as she walked through, then she walks a bit ahead only to stop, waiting for him. Surely she'll get herself lost in here. The room they had walked into was a bit darker than the entrance hall, being only dimly lit. Along the left stretched a large expanse of shelves, in varying heights and lengths, spread out in a rather random order. To the right, they met a similar sight, but as they walked down the center aisle of the room, pockets of furniture were visible around the shelves. Some areas contained large couches and chairs, others small desks. Cross proceeded to lead them along to the back wall, the light gradually increasing as they got closer to the end. He wondered if she noticed the light change, but he didn't mention it. That was part of the surprise. Chloe tries, and she stresses the word tries to remember where they were going, however all of the shelves were looking the same to her after a while, she gave up. She just decided to follow Cross carefully, so she won't get lost, the only thing that popped out was the furniture..but that was every now and then. As she kept following Cross, she actually noticed something, she looks around and saw as they were walking, it got brighter. "Hey..Cross....is it me or is it getting brighter....?" She asks him. Or I'm just insane.. She added on mentally, then continuing, wait..scratch that..I've been a bit insane.. He smiled a bit to himself, knowing she couldn't see, because she was behind him. "Indeed it is, doll. You'll see why in a moment." He continued a bit further, and finally they reached the back wall, which it turned out was lined with large glass windows. But this wasn't what he wanted to show her. He traveled a bit along the back wall to the left, before reaching their final destination. There was an ornate wooden door ahead of them, that obviously lead to a small inner room of this branch of the library. He turned around and grinned at her a bit, obviously enjoying the surprise. "Are you ready to see?" His face was lit up with enthusiasm, very uncharacteristically so. It was obvious that this was something that meant a lot to him. She kept following him diligently, like a stray cat. When he turned, she follows him still, looking to the side to notice the huge windows, the source of the light and she turns back to look at Cross only to notice that he stopped. She looks up at him, he looks enthusiastic and she smiles back at him, showing her own enthusiasm as well and nods her head. She was extremely curious to see what was behind the door. He slowly opened the door and led the way in. When they got inside, the very first thing you would notice, even before the small size of the room, would be the small shafts of colored light playing across the space from the right side. If you followed the shafts to the source, you would see a beautiful and ornate stained glass window, the only one in the room. It depicted a beautiful forest scene, with small green panes of tree, all different shades, as well as the blue panes of a bubbling brook. In between the trees, there were panes of soft reds and browns, making up a small fox and some deer, in their natural home. After being awed by the window, your eyes would travel to the furniture in the room. There was a small, claw-footed coffee table, with a matching love seat and chair. The upholstery was a dark coal, the woodwork silver. The top of the coffee table was a dark granite, matching the fabric of the seats. Looking to the walls, you would notice small lantern torches that let off a light glow, keeping the room in an ever-present dusk-like light, adding to the effect the window created. There was nothing else in the room except for a small bookshelf in the corner, which contained all sorts of odd books with silk spines and tassle bookmarks. Cross breathed in the musky air for the first time in years, and his heart sang. He missed this place a lot, he suddenly realized. He looked around at Chloe to see her reaction.

Was her first response, she was in total shock and in awe. The stained glass looks so beautiful, it took her breath away and she looks around as well noticing the furniture and the rest of the small room. It felt so nice in here, it had that nice..home feeling. She felt like a small child, grinning and she looks around again, then back at Cross.
"Its so beautiful." she said, her voice still holding a tinge of awe. Emerald eyes still gazing around the room again.
