POSITIVE: Loving the crap outta playing Second Son on my PS4. It's a blast! NEGATIVE: My cats are in an all out war with each other tonight and I have no idea what is going on . . .

Hello again, Articx!
Glad you're enjoying all the silly elemental powers like concrete and neon. xp Strange, but the reasons for animal behavior can be indiscernible at times.

I guess we'll have to see. Maybe it's optional, even?

Answers are . . .
Yes, you get Concrete. No, it is not optional. No, you cannot get it before the final boss.
The game allows play after the final boss so you can continue and fight the DUP (badguy army in Seattle), and clear out the city. Disappointing, but I suppose that will have to do. At this point I wish there was a new game + option so that I could play with Concrete through the game.
Oh well, on to the selfish/dickish/evil run. twisted I prefer playing good, but I wanna see what all the powers do now.

Yeah, that's a real shame, since that makes Concrete much less useful.
Have fun wrecking everything!

I spent a lot of time today playing on the evil playthrough, and instead of concentrating on story, I spent a while clearing half the game's extra stuffs. The world is split into two large sections of city, and I have all but cleared the first half before even unlocking all the powers. Now I have enough currency to do just about anything that unlocks for a while . . . but I notice that it is far easier to get powerups and karma overload as evil. Good is all about precision and caution. Evil is all about unnecessary destruction and killing everybody in your way, regardless of affiliation. If it moves, kill it.

The good (or pacifist) path is usually harder in games, since many ascribe to the "evil is absence of good" concept. Still, they both provide different kinds of experiences. It's also interesting that evil in Infamous is killing friend and foe alike (unless there are no allies able to be killed in gameplay).

allies can loosely mean police officers and civillians, as in the end sequence the main villain calls to the public in a final plea. In the good playthrough the public turns on the occupying force citing your good actions, providing cover to let you pass. I can only imagine that in the bad playthrough they will give you a greater challenge.

Oh wow, and the morality system actually affects gameplay in a meaningful way. It seemed like games had forgotten that for several years.

Ah, good old Yahtzee. I've seen all of those vids before, but it can be hard at times to discern the actual gameplay experience from his prose. That and I can't watch all his videos to completion; some just get too crass.

*smirks* I think you may be my only friend that would actually shy away from crass language, Snowman. Still, gameplay footage is easier than ever to find on youtube. Ah well. After beating it twice already, I am ready to take a break or move on. Something like that. OF course, now I have no idea what to do with my spare time.
In other news, I will be posting my final for my Master's degree a bit later- just for giggles. Yeah, it may go over a few heads, but I worked hard on it. Similarly, I have to peer review somebody's paper and am a bit shocked. The work should be 25-30 pages, she wrote 52!
EDIT: wait, when put in the proper font and size, it is apparently 35. much more manageable.

Yeah, I'll look up VGA's (Video Games Awesome) Let's Plays of the 3 games some time.
All right, sure. I'll try to read it, provided I don't get lost in the jargon.
Ah, yeah, that's much more manageable.
