It didn't matter whether or not Gwyllion wanted to reply or not; just speaking that much had sent him into another coughing fit, and Eara was doing her best to stay calm, as well as calm him.
It was a complicated mess to say the least.
"I'm sorry Gwyllion." she whispered in his ear. "If I wouldn't have come, it would be this bad..."
"If you weren't my sister I'd drown you for that." he barely choked out.
Eara hugged him gently. "I still feel responsible." she admitted. "I'm sorry."
"Hush---CHAAACCK!"
A rather large blob of blood and mucus drifted across the top of the water, speckled heavily with the iron dust.
Eara fell silent, just hugging and rubbing Gwyllion's back while he hacked up his lungs, perhaps literally.

"Just a little longer, Elfy," Fir Darrig grunted from his kneeling position. Before long, ripples broke the surface of the water, and with it came not only Kitaria, looking empty and expressionless as ever, but a small stone alter that somehow was staying afloat (presumably through Fir Darrig's magic.

"Everyone touch it and close your eyes," he ordered, "I'm gonna try and take us back to Capsule Corp. There's a blessed stone on my bike from a sacred site, hopefully that'll do the trick. But don't try this at home kiddos, I'm a trained professional."

Eara hoisted Gwyllion over to touch the altar, placing her hand firmly on it as well. "Please hurry, Fir." she whispered, although it was obvious from not only her demeanor but the way she looked at him that she was very, very grateful for all the life-saving that happened that day.

Though there was a plethera of rather immature things he could have said to that, surprisonly enough, Fir Darrig didn't make one sexual refrence. Actually he didn't speak at all, but focused on the alter, activating it and sending the group hurling back to Capsule Corp, appearing right besides the korred motorcycle.

"I'd like to see one of your forgien models to that," Fir Darrig challenged, but and further witty remarks he might have had were cut off by Kitaria collapsing into his arms, her body convulsing from the damage it had taken.

"MORRIGAN!!!!"

The talk went from hotsprings to dead silence, Morrigan simply turning and making a mad dash outside.
"What the hell happened?!!" she gasped, not sure whether to be scared or angry.
Certainly she was a little bit of both.
"Fir, take Kit inside!" she ordered harshly, going straight into doctor mode. "Eara, take Gwyllion in!"
Eara didn't argue, hoisting Gwyllion over her shoulders and quickly making her way into Mor's room.
"Bring them both in here! They're too ill to waste time with two rooms!" she led them in, quickly tossing off any jewelry she was wearing to the side.
And in an instant Morrigan was beginning to glow, her eyes taking on a different aspect again. She took a deep, deep breath, raising up her arms and breathing in the energy as much as she could.
"Eara, help." she barked, "Unless you want them to die."
Eara sprinted out to find her lute while Morrigan's grim eyes focused on healing them each. "Where the hell did you guys run into iron?!!" she demanded, but the way her eyes looked said clearly enough that she already knew.
It was just a matter of whether or not she wanted those fears affirmed. "EARA, MILKTHISTLE AND GINGER FROM THE KITCHEN! AND VINEGAR!"
Eara returned with all those things plus her lute over one shoulder, another bag of pre-made salves and teas created. "The kettle's boiling no--"
"To hell with that." Morrigan cut her off, heating a few cups of water with her magick and tossing the required herbs in. Myrrh for Gwyl would staunch the blood loss....
"For the most part the iron's washed away externally." she mused over Kit, dripping the tea into her mouth. "This will help her handle the toxins... myrrh will stop her from bleeding." she explained quickly as she went to work.
With all she could do physically handled, including using Kit's own healing balms, Morrigan went back to spell casting, Eara playing a soft, haunting melody on the lute.
There was no better healer to bring them to than Morrigan at this point. If they were going to die, it would only be after all other attempts failed.
She would exhaust all her energy if she had to to keep them alive. One was her brother, and the other was the last of the Fianna... It was a lot of pressure, but Mor handled it well, it seemed.
Eara likewise poured all of her passion into her playing, while Morrigan poured her energy into a healing spell of her own, singing to them each softly.
It was one of the oldest spells they had been taught, but it was effective, especially in Gwyllion's case.

Kitaria spasmed on the bed, hacking blood as she coughed. A few times, she nearly tumbled right off of the bed, until Fir Darrig took matters into his own hands and forcibly held the convusling woman down. He honestly didn't know if even Kitaria could survive this one. She'd been exposed to enough iron to kill a small settlement of Fianna, not counting the dangerous technique she'd used to save all their asses. They'd still be waiting on the rock if Kitaria hadn't jumped in to help pull the alter out of the water.

"Dman, damn, damn," he cursed, as the woman kept coughing out the medicines Morrigan was trying to pour down her throat. It was hard enough to keep her spasing muscles still. She was a strong woman, even in this state and Fir was all but on top of the tiny woman.

Snarling, the beagan to strip Kitaria of her confining clothing, his gaze darkening as he revealed mottled discolouring under her skin and dark, nearly black veins.

"This s**t is in her blood," he growled, trying to hold the woman down and ignoring the blood she kept coughing up on him. "You got the equipment for a blood transfusion? I'm immune, it won't bother me in the slightest if we swap a couple pints.

"Dammit woman!" she shouted at Kit after a particularly violent convulsion, "You know better than that!"

Morrigan nodded, dashing out of the room herself and returning with the needles and the like.
"I want to help." Gwyllion protested, trying to sit up.
"LAY DOWN!" Morrigan snapped, "NOW!"
He was exhausted, but he sighed, watching without blinking an eye. "You save her for me, or I kill you all." he promised darkly.
Morrigan didn't even really care what he spoke, she knew he was just worried.
"Lay down by Gwyl." she told Fir, shoving him over to the side and working as quickly as she could to connect them both together.
She knew medicines of many types, and modern wasn't something she had neglected. Transfusion were damn effective, anyhow.
Very carefully, she stuck the other needle in Kit's arm, keeping it there with a few rounds of ducktape she could remove afterwards, careful not to restrict the blood flow.
"You save her or I kill you." Gwyllion barely whispered, hardly even giving a damn that he and the Korred were side by side. "It's not maybe. You save her."
"Gwyl..." Morrigan whispered gently, softening as she stroked his hair. "We're all doing everything we can."
"I'm not sleeping until she's better." he insisted. "She did that for me. Get the leeches out of her pack, and place them on the blackened veins."
Morrigan blinked. "How do you know she has--"
"Shut the @%($ up and DO IT!" Gwyllion shouted angrily.
For once, Morrigan did as she was told instead of leading, carefully applying the bloodsuckers to drain the poisoned blood from her system.

"She freaking knew better," Fir Darrig cursed, binding Kitaria is limbs down before moving himself to lay down on the bed, "She can mentally steel her body for an iron infection by itself, but not mixed with that technique. It's freaking suicide."

He scowled over at the convulsing woman. "You got a death wish, Auntie Kit, huh?" he yelled at her, even though he knew full well she couldn't hear a damn thing he said. "Well screw that, Just if you want to die, don't go pulling s**t liek that when we're on a damn mission!"

But Gwyllion was haggardly climbing out of bed, making his way over to the woman and pulling over a chair.
He still felt like s**t, but for the most part he had responded well enough to Mor's treatments that all he'd need was some rest.
Unlike the others, he spoke very calm, and very sweet to her.
"Alright, Kit-Kat." he whispered in her ear, trying to psychically get through to her. "I'm here. Now you're not going to die." he assured her. "You might get close, but I assure you, you won't."
He stroked her hair, helping to calm her down so he could place more leeches on the infected blood vessels. "So, listen to me, Kitten, you're going to get through this just fine." he repeated. "Keep your mind focused on my voice. Don't focus on anything else, Kit, just listen to me. After all, we can't let Herne get away with this sort of attack."

Morrigan watched in utter silence, but it was heartbreaking to see all of this happening. She was still healing her with all the energy she had left; she could sleep eventually, and wake up with plenty more to go around.
She had only just met him, but it was clear that Gwyllion was very attached to this woman, when he rarely seemed to connect to even his own family members.

Fir Darrig's eyes narrowed as he watched. "She shut down her body's inhibitor's," he told Morrigan, "It's an old Fianna trick to get their warrior to push themselves past what's even physically impossible. But is can destroy the muscles and the recovery period is brutal, even by itself. Mix that with lethal iron poisoning...."

he trailed off and shook his head. "That woman has been chasing death for freaking thousands of years."

Kitaria's spasms began to occur with less and less frequency and violence, but her muscles were still twitching uncontrollably. Sweat beaded her brow as she tossed as best as her restraints would enable her to.

He brow furrowed at Gwyllion's words.

"Kaylo?" she whispered hoarsly.

Gwyllion looked deeply depressed suddenly. "No, Kit, Gwyllion." he whispered quietly. "Don't leave, Kit..."
Morrigan couldn't take it, she actually had to leave the room at that point. Her energy was exhausted, she was exhausted mentally and physically, and to top everything off, she couldn't stand watching things like this.
It reminded her too much of the past, and it just broke her heart to see any sibling of hers like that.
"I promise I won't leave you." the elf stroked her hair. "I won't leave you, just like you wouldn't leave me. Just be calm, Kitten... And I will continue to use that name until you wake up and kill me if I must, if it means you're alright. You're going to understand this a lot better in retrospect, on that note."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 27, 2007 12:59 am

Kitaria thrashed against her restraints, uttering a heartbroken stream of words in an unknown elvish dialect. Fir Darrig just shook his head. She was priobably the only person alive able to speak it fluently. Even so, her tone of voce and repetition of the name 'Kaylo' did need much more of a translation. Nor did the tears that streamed down her face. Even after all the millenia that had passed, she still hadn't gotten over him.

"Hey," Fir Darrig said softly, "Hate to sound like an a**, but if she's moving into nightmares, she's probably going to survive."

Gwyllion didn't answer, just silently watching over the woman with all the care and dedication she had given him.
"If anyone's the a** it's me." he spoke quietly, gently stroking her cheek. "Oh Kit....."
Even Eara was deeply saddened, but she certainly handled it better than either of her siblings. "Gwyl... Do you need anything?" she whispered.
But the elf just shook his head, one hand gently encompassing the woman's own. He would take her suffering from her if he could; he wanted to help her genuinely, and now he was questioning whether or not taking the death she so dearly wanted was right.
She was tired, and worn down. Was he simply being selfish?
He kept these internal musings to himself, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:12 am

"Damn," Fir Darrig whistled, "You really fell hard for her, didn't you?" There was no taunting or teasing in the korred's toe. Even he wasn't that much of a jerk. It wasn't even really a question. He knew the answer.

Eventually the muscle spasms ceased and the woman's blood returned to normal. But her nightmares would persist long after that. Fir Darrig carefully removed the rubes from himself and the Fianna and undid her restraints.

"She'd not going to be able to move hardly at all for quite a bit while her muscles rebuild. She might give you a god tongue lashing if your lucky, though," he added, trying to lift the depressing mood somewhat.

He glanced over to Eara. "C'mon Little Flower, there's nothing more to see her. She's not going to die yet. Rest of the healing's going to be up to her."

Gwyllion didn't need to answer, the look was written all over her place.
But he did try to lighten the mood as well. He would've liked to consider the Korred his friend as well, and didn't want him to think his efforts went unnoticed. "You know, the first thing I fell for was her a**." he jested quietly, although his voice didn't sound all too enthused.
He carefully removed the leeches only when he was surely there wasn't a drop of the poison left in her.
Eara came over to kiss the top of his forehead, and he squeezed her hand in return. "If you need us we'll be in the living room."
It was surprising that Gwyllion didn't even warn her to be wary of the Korred; all his attention was on Kitaria and her alone.
Once everyone left, he began to tell her stories of the wildest sort, anything to keep her mind off of her former lover.

Eara carefully closed the door, glancing down to Morrigan who had disappeared around the corner like shadows in the night. "She's going to be alright Morrigan." she announced kindly. "Thank you."
Morrigan would be damned if anyone saw her cry, wiping her eyes and composing herself quickly. "Good." she answered, shifting around to look at them once more. She seemed alright on the surface, but her eyes looked old and grim... Tired. "You, you use my sister like those humans..." she began to warn, but Eara smiled with a chuckle.
"Trust me, Mor, I can take care of myself." she assured her. "Besides, between you, Gwyl, Vinnie-pie and Kit when she wakes up, I should be covered. Go get some rest. You look like you need it."
"I probably do." she sighed. "Be carefu-....ahhhh #%$@ it, we can see what good that did last time." she shook her head in exasperation.
