"Dawn, Kyla, and James?" he repeated rhetorically. "Should be enough. We got Noelle and Sora here, too."
He rubbed his chin in thought. Dawn was compassionate--blindly, foolishly so. If there was someone he could count on to do what it took to help him, it'd be her, even if they weren't terribly close.
Kyla was... a concern. She still had some sort of binding with Louis, and the last thing he wanted was to deal with Seymour only to have her presence recontaminate him. They wanted to save the boy, fine, but he wasn't coming near the dragoon's heart again if he could help it.
Still, with the way Yen Sid explained things, it was likely any dark portion of Louis was completely suppressed here, in the aura of the Cornerstone. So the odds of anything malignant growing was astronomically low...
He'd allow it. Besides, it could help repair some bridges, if anything. And if things failed... well, she'd blame herself more for not trying than for failing, knowing her. And knowing Kyla, she was probably already following Joe and Dawn, if Joe had mentioned what was going on anywhere near her, especially somewhere as quiet as a library--and Joe didn't seem the type to whisper.
Ever.
...ever.
James was already on his way in, so that was a plus. The two had had some time together before the incident, but for the past 24 hours, they'd had barely any interactions for... well, obvious reasons. Still, he was a good guy. And if Ajora had been even slightly honest, then James' prior connection... well, James would help, either way.
So with Noelle, Sora, and Joe, that maxed out the limit.
That's strikingly convenient.
"Hey, James, Joe tells me you're already heading this way, so I'll go ahead and ask--you wanna help get rid of this seal on my arm? You'll have to dive in, but Yen Sid should have some protective measures in place."
"I'm not late, am I?" Sora asked as he suddenly jumped into the room from a puff of blue smoke--Merlin had gone to retrieve him from the town.
"Not at all," Kyle said, grinning and waving the obviously-still-horribly-corrupted-beyond-belief arm. "Get settled, the others are on the way."

“Gah!” Dani shouted as she was being dragged by the ice archer. “Wait where are we going? What are we doing?”
'To think an assassin reduced to being dragged by an archer.' Dani groaned internally. 'I bet if there were more assassins they would be laughing there ***** off right now.' Eventually Dani stopped struggling and let the girl drag her through the crowd, a little curious as to what the archer had in store for her.

'That would explain it' Joe thought. Kyle was reminded that his heart was bolstered by the people around him. If he isolated himself from everyone else, the corruption might be exacerbated rather then cured, even if he was with Yen Sid.
As for the issue of curing it, well, that was going to likely involve Sora and a group of others, others Kyle trusted.
'Well, that leaves me out of the running.' Joe thought. Made sense, no reason to trust someone you've only known for a few hours with your life. 'Especially someone like me.'
"Well, I should probably excuse myself then." he said to Kyle "I doubt you trust me to go delving deep inside your heart for remnants of psychotic Guado after you've only known me for a little while."

{Bobbi .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Festival Grounds} Cue: Dance of the FairiesBobbi glanced back over her shoulder and grinned at Dani as she continued to lead the girl by the hand through the crowd. It took a little weaving among the pedestrians, but she eventually found what she sought: a stage with a small band playing a lively jig, with a group of people dancing in a cleared space on the cobblestones. Thankfully this dance didn't look like it had any particular steps, but was rather like the raves and proms from back home. Bobbi was vaguely disappointed it wasn't a square dance, but she doubted Dani knew any of the steps anyway. "Dance with me," the brunette said, turning around and smiling at her friend. She hadn't let go of Dani's hand, but she wasn't clutching it. If Dani wanted to run off, Bobbi wasn't going to hold her back. Without waiting for a response from the younger girl, Bobbi raised her hands above her head and started moving her hips along with the beat. She wasn't an expert at this kind of dancing, not by a long shot, but she was good at having fun. Plus, the waves of merriment and fun coming off of the dancing crowd drew her in, and drove the last vestiges of negativity from her mind. Just what she'd wanted when she came out here.

James had continued on in his thoughts, though his attention focused on the group that was now following him, with his enhanced hearing and the acoustics of the hallway it wasn't hard. He turned to look briefly seeing it was Joe, Kyla, and Dawn. Kyla surprised him because he thought she had been heading into the library to read and eventually rest. It was at that moment that he received the message from Kyle asking for his help. He owed the dragoon for his help with his own darkness earlier that morning, so of course he would help.
'Yeah sure, I'd be more than happy to help,' he stated with a nod of his head, not that Kyle would be able to see it.
He wouldn't bother slowing down his pace to allow the others to catch up, they would get there in their own time. Rather the opposite, his pace picked up as he headed back toward the Chamber of the Cornerstone. He wasn't jogging at this point, but he was definitely going the fastest his stride could carry him without breaking into a jog.

He turned back to new-Joe when he spoke up, listening before he gave a reassuring smile.
"Actually, I'd trust you. You're obviously a good guy by literal definition, or you couldn't be standing here," he responded, shrugging. "And you're a good guy by my definition because even after hearing all our s**t, you're willing to tag along and help. We may not be close enough to call each other 'friends' yet, but I'd still call you an ally, easily. It's more that I'd rather not risk some weird incompatibility issue and endanger anyone pointlessly, since Yen Sid believes I need people I "most" trust."

Dani could feel the blush appear on her cheeks at the idea that Bobbi purposed. “But Bobbi...” Dani stuttered and looked down to their hands which were still connected. 'This is starting to get confusing,' Dani thought to herself as she continued to look at the hand and get used to the feel of someone grabbing her. 'Don't worry,' Dani told herself, 'It is just Bobbi.'
Getting back to the main issue Dani looked back up at Bobbi who at this point was dancing pretty well for Dani's standards. “I don't know how to dance.” Dani could already feel sweat start to pour down her face and due to nervousness she put her mask back up to her nose. Dani started to sway a little bit side to side but otherwise was completely clueless as to what to do with the archer.

"Thanks, I appreciate that." Joe said. Kyle didn't have to justify his actions. Joe knew that he wasn't up to snuff, no reason to sugar coat it. Least of all to him. After all, it was Kyle who was in danger, why take unnecessary risks?
Still, he appreciated the gesture. Anything that gave Joe an opening to improvement was good enough for him. One last check to be safe and then he'd go.
"Anyway, if you're sure you don't need me, I'll be off. No sense standing around here as a load when I could be exploring, you know?"

"Me neither," Bobbi admitted. Dani hadn't pulled her hand away, yet, so Bobbi, sensing an appropriate beat in the music, pulled Dani into a twirl, sending the girl a little deeper into the dance.

Dawn gnawed on her lip a little at Joe's reaction, "I hope I remember enough of what happened to be of any use. All I remember is being in a numbing pain and being in darkness. Afterwards, Louis was laying on top of me on the decks of the Black Pearl." She shook her head slightly as she thought more at the events, but saying nothing more.

Dani could feel the music flow her the instant Bobbi twirled her and started laughing for the first time in awhile. After the twirl she smiled at Bobbi. “Thank you Bobbi.” Dani giggled at Bobbi before attempting to twirl Bobbi in what Dani could tell was a fun little game away from all of the current troubles.

"No probs!" Bobbi laughed along with Dani and went along with the twirl, ducking under their joined hands as she did so. At the end of the twirl, Bobbi spun on her toes for a moment, letting go of Dani's hand to get some distance, just to make sure she didn't hit the poor girl in the face with her hair. When she slowed her spin, she held a hand out to Dani, inviting the girl to either spin on her own, or clasp hands again for more twirling.

Joe raised an eyebrow. "Not exactly comforting, but at least I've already blasted something out of Kyle's heart to go along with what you've done. So there's that." He looked ahead at the hallway, nodding to himself.
"I think it's not too much farther. I'm sure we'll get briefed while there."

"Yeah, I'll see ya later. Get some ice cream for me!" Kyle responded with a small grin and a wave.
"If you'd like, I can bring you into the city?" Merlin offered the young man.
