Shien gave the faint hint of a smile, before pulling the cigarette from his mouth and rubbing it out on the bench, before sitting down. He let the smoke that hung around him get carried off into the wind before he spoke again, his eyes staring up into the sky.
"A lovely sky tonight.." he mumbled slightly, before sighing. He raised his right hand and offered it to her to shake "I'm Shien Kitzu, a new student here. You are?" his eyes , hidden beneath the murk of the night, seemed to roll around in his head as he tried to examine her. His gaze finally settled comfortably on her face, and he smiled.

She looked down at his hand, examing it for a moment before taking her own hand and letting it out to him, taking ahold of his and shaking it slowly. A small smile krept on her lips once more as she looked at him, observing his every move and how he talked carefully. It seemed to be a habit of hers to examine people when she meets them.
Deirdra bowed her head to him politely, letting her hair catch on her horns slightly as it went down, carressing her cheeks before lifting her head back up once more. "I'm Deirdra. It's.. Nice to meet you." She had a nervious little laugh after she spoke. She was still a little jittery from being in a new place with people she didnt know. Of course, wherever she went she didnt know anyone, so it wasnt much of a big difference for her really.

Shien smiled as she shook his hand, and said "Nice to meet you, Deidra." before letting go of her hand. He let his gaze flicker over her horns and wings, before sighing and racking his brain for a decent conversation starter.
"So what do you think of the school so far?" he picked, and decided to just let the conversation ride out. His gaze was still on her, but seemed to be locked on her face, waiting for a reply.

She nodded to him and looked back at him, resting his eyes on his. Her eyes seemed to search through him, not really meaning to though. It was another thing about her that she didn't even ever really notice. After she let go of his hand, and he let go of hers, she looked away from him and down in her lap once more.
After listening to his question, Deirdra shrugged her shoulders slightly and moved her eyes slowly back to his. "I.. I dont know really.." She began to say softly in reply. "I've only just arrived really.. So i dont know much about it..Heh.." She scratched behind her head, reaching her hand under her left horn. Her other hand now motioned over to her right side of her waist and held onto it before putting down her left hand.
"And, what about yourself..?" She decided to ask him in reply. Normally she wasnt the most excellent with conversations. But, she was being daring tonight. Since, she figured there was nothing to fear from anyone around here. Deirdra might actually open up for once.

Shien chuckled, and said "Seems quiet, which is nice..Although I would wager that changes during the day." he said, his voice a tad lighter then before. He shook his head, and said "Just hope I can learn something from this place, thats all I need really.."
He shook his head again, as if clearing it. His brown hair danced about a bit, then fell neatly back into place, even though his hair was shameful messy. He decided to be a bit bolder with his next topic "So..I er..couldn't help but notice your horns..They look nice." he smiled brightly, hoping he wasn't treading on thin ice on this one. "Make you look very pretty." he added.

Deirdra nodded slightly as he spoke, making sure he knew that she was listening ro him. She agreed with him on learning abilities and such. "Yes..I want to learn what my abilities even are. I know i have some.. But.. I cant.. find them.." She said slowly as she shrugged her shoulders slightly. Her right leg swayed back and forth with the weight of her large boot, making it almost like a pendulum.
Her attention was suddenly pulled as she heard Shien's comment about her horns. She had always been sensitive about them since she seemed to get ridiculed for them. Though, sometimes people were actually smart enough not to do that, since usually they ran away from her first.
"Oh.. I.. Uhh.." She staggered to speak. Deirdra pulled in her other leg close to her chest and wrapped her arms around it tightly. Her eyes moved to his and down, then up to his again. "Um.. Thanks." Her cheeks started to become a rosey color as she blushed from the second part of the comment. It surprised her to hear it, because she had never seen them as a sign of beauty or anything, just something that made her different. One of her hands slowly wandered up to her left horn. She felt it from its base and all the way to the end, ending at a sharp point that would peirce through anything. "Normally.. They are frowned upon.." Well, which wasnt really that unusual. Because, those horns were a sure sign of a demon.

Shien let out a soft chuckled. "I'm not like most people. I'm kinda special myself, really.." he chuckled and leaned back a bit. His right hand raised up slowly, and patted the top of the closest horn. He gave a bright smile as he said "They really are pretty though."
He let his hand fall back onto the bench, still looking at her and smiling. He noted the slight chill in the air, and slipped out of his coat. He handed it to her and said "Ere', it's starting to get cold. Your clothes won't kee pyou too warm out here." he smiled, his black dress pants and long sleeves black shirt would keep him warm, but he doubted that dress was at all too warm.
He mentally chuckled as he reached into the coat quickly, and extracted the sheathed katana from the back. "Forgot about that, I did."

Deirdra laughed a little as he patted the top of them. Shien made her feel a little better and more comftorable after talking to him for a while now. It made her more relaxed, which is what she needed depserately. "Thanks..." She said once more in reply, sitll blushing.
But, she herself did fell the chill in the air. She rubbed her upper arms slowly with her hands to keep hersef warm. The dress she was wearing was no doubt beautiful, but not at all warm. She saw him take off his coat for her and she grinned. "Oh.." She had an innocent look in her eyes as she looked to back to him. "Um.. Thank you, Shien.." She said quietly, nodding her head politely in return once more.
Her wings flattened more on her back so that the coat would fit around her, though with her small, thin body, it wasnt really hard to do anyway. She wrapped it around her and huddled inside of it. Deirdra took in a deep breath and closed her eyes momentarily, then opened them back up. They slowly moved back over towards him, observing him once more, letting the smile come back on her lips as she saw the Katana.
"So.. You are a swordsman?" She asked curiously.

Shien smiled as she took the coat. He set the katana against the front of the bench, and nodded when she asked. "Yep. Still training, technically, but I'm learning pretty fast." he said, a grin covering his lips.
He scooted over a bit closer to her, under the pretext of trying to warm up a bit. He smirked, and said "Looks good on ya." with a chuckle underneath the words.
He leaned back a bit and looked up into the air, the moon catching his eyes slightly.

Deirdra laughed a little and smirked. "Hm, thank you, Shien.." She just ignored how he scooted over closer to her. She almost didnt even notice really, since her eyes wandered back up to the dark sky. Taking in a deep breath, her eyes slowly closed as she leaned her head back. A small groan escaped from her lips as she repositioned herself by sitting on the bench indian-style and holding onto his coat tightly around her.
"It's good that you are learning fast though at it. Maybe some day you will be a master..." She spoke softly and let her voice almost drift through the air and over to him. Her eyes were still closed as she spoke to him.

Shien smirked, and said "I hope so...It sounds weird, but my goal is to beat someone...Someone who's always been better then me." his smile dipped a bit, but didn't fade. "I need to get better..show that arrogant jerk who the wimp is.." he let his voice trail off, as if his mind was somewhere, and his body miles away.
He shook his head, once again his disturbingly messy hair falling excatly into place. He patted her head again, his smile coming back on full blast. "But anway..So what abotu you? You got any goals your aiming for here?"

Deirdra looked up at him innocently and smiled as he patted her on the head. "Ah, well that's a good goal though... Isnt it?" She tilted her head a little to the side. "Well, i think it is..." She let out another sigh and looked towards him with a small shrug.
"Well.. I..." She started to talk and then let out a breath to take in another one, full of fresh air. "I want to find out who i am..." Her eyes went down to her lap once more as she tilted it downwards, her hair falling to the sides of her face once more.
"I heard that this school has an amazing sized library and such. I figured.. Well.. Maybe i could do some research.. And put a few things together.. and all..." She said slowly, with a hint of saddness in her tone of voice as she spoke. "Hmm.. And i want to figure out my powers.." Deirdra ended with a nod.

Shien smiled and said "Yeah..I'm lucky I was born to know who I was..I don't have any special powers, really..But I'm differnt from most people." he smiled, and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Self discovery, a fine goal..Life is only complete with you tottally understand yourself."
He looked over at her and smiled lightly. "I know what you feel like though..My brother was my only family for a while..He taught me everything I know about myself..And theres volumes more I don't get." he chuckled. "Odd, I'm the older brother and he's teaching me."
"It's a good goal, nontheless." he smirked, and leaned against her gently. "S'getting a bit late. You should get some sleep, don't wanna be passing out on your first day of class, do ya?"

Deirdra yawned a little while listening to him, giving in a nod here and there when she though necessary. "Ahh. Yeah.. But, atleast its nice to know a little something about yourself.. Heh.." She laughed a little uneasily to herself, and yawned one more time. She was getting very tired and her eyses were narrowed from them getting heavy.
She looked over to him and smiled. "Heh.. Yeah.. You're right.." Deirdra shivered a little as Shien leaned against her. Rising up off of the bench, she took off his coat and handed it to him while she stretched out her leathery wings. "Here.. Thanks for that.."
She smiled and nodded, then bowed to him. "I'm sorry that i must leave you.. But i have to sleep. It was great talking to you Shien. I hope to see you soon.." She smiled and waved to him as she turned around to leave, walking out of the courtyard.

Shien watched her walk away, then closed his eyes and smiled. "G'night." he mumbled, not sure if she could hear him. He pulled his trenchcoat over him, relaxing in the calm moonlight. He pulled his sword closer to him, letting it rest against his head. He opened his eyes for a moment and started into the moonlight.
He reached into the pocket on his coat and pulled a cigarette out, only to remember he'd left his lighter lay. He chuckled, and leaned back, closing his eyes. "Ah well...I've had enough tonight.." before grinning slightly. Eventully, he nodded off to the side, the cigarette falling from his lips and landing on the bench.
