I dunno, REmake is a beautiful work of art, almost seems like it wasn't even made by Capcom.

Now, Squenix, I can see hiding their ugliness, because every FF game had a certain level of ugly or overrated in it, despite how good.

Well maybe for you, but my favorite Final Fantasies will always remain so. And I did like X. Not X-2... I'm not THAT silly.

FF7 was always overrated.
FF8 had its ugly parts. *cough* Irvine *cough*
FF9 had a very stupid age range. I mean come on, make the main character at LEAST 20, but not 16, come on. Give me an age at which I can RESPECT someone.

*shrugs* I guess I don't let the little things bother me in a game. In all three of those the stories make up for a lot. If only for the detail paid to Summoning monsters, pays for everything in spades, IMHO.

Well they horribly, bloodily, in a style of the 'Saw' movies, murdered the story of FF7.

But okay, hold on, so you're defending Square now... Yet you just said that Capcom was always ugly? Forgetting all about the days when RE used to be good?

Well, both companies were doomed to ruin, but they had games that were enjoyable and fantastic. Lol, maybe my makeup comment could be reserved only for the LATER stages of Capcom and Square. You know... like when people don't age well? xd

Well, let's see... Final Fantasy and Resident Evil experienced some drastic changes... Kinda like cosmetic surgery... So can we say that they're like Michael Jackson of the gaming industry? Well, then again.. MJ still makes good music.

Pfft, I don't see SquareEnix going downhill any time soon. Even with drastic changes I still like the Final Fantasies. And just look at all the attention the FF13 trailer is getting.

And I still love my foolish Capcom.

Square-Enix has the biggest load of fanboys and fangirls in the world. Of course it's getting attention. But RE4 was a best seller, too, that doesn't mean the quality of the work is getting better. Graphics, maybe. But for a couple of titles which depend largely on storyline, both Final Fantasy and Resident Evil have hit close to rock bottom.

Eh I dunno about FF so I won't debate.

I agree story-wise. But RE4 was not a low quality game. It was very enertaining even if it brought a whole slew of fanboys for the wrong reason.

When I say low quality, I'm talking about the storytelling. The story in RE4 was terrible. It was over-simplified, and over the top, as it is. And I hate it when fanboys bring up the bullshit like, "Well, how realistic are zombies?"
I said this before, and I'm saying it again, there's a fine line between science fiction and fantasy, and Capcom has crossed it. Science fiction can be believable, and no offense to anyone, but you'd have to be some kind of an idiot if you could actually believe the backstory of RE4, the way the parasites were presented, their origin, the lava pit in the castle, the physics behind El Gigante, the giant Salazar statue, the monsters in general. I just can't buy into something like that.

As for Final Fantasy, come on... You're not gonna tell me that you actually enjoyed the storyline of titles like X-2, Advent Children or *cringe* Dirge of Cerberus...

Not all of the stories for the FF are gonna be good. I mean, they've only made what, about 20 games? X-2 was horrible, yes, but X was alright. The original story for VII was good, but then they made sequels to it and a prequel. I can see why you hate Square, because they created sequels when they shouldn't have. But my real question, is why penalize Capcom, for a bad game or two?

Because they tarnished the story of Resident Evil forever. Like I always say, it's not like RE5 is completely gonna ignore the events of RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles, and we can already see that the enemies in it aren't zombies and that the game is even more action and less Horror oriented than RE4, so I KNOW I'm not gonna like it.

I was a fan of Onimusha, too. That series went downhill faster than RE, here's my interpretation of it:

Onimusha: A dark and cool action movie. Rated R.
Onimusha 2: A hollywood sequel of the first movie. Rated 14A.
Onimusha 3: A PG rated sequel that makes a great family movie. The only thing that saved that game for me was Jean Reno, and I was still pissed that he didn't voice his own English voice overs.
Onimusha 4: A cheesy Anime spinoff loosely related to the originals.

Also, I'm not a Mega-Man fan, but pretty much every Mega-Man fan that I did talk to is severely disappointed with it. That's 3 series that Capcom has ruined.

Honestly, what all have we seen from 5? We've scene Chris, normally being attacked, and that's about it so far. This game isn't slated to be released until sometime before March 2009. So we have to wait until then to see if there are any horror moments in it or not.

Edited above.

And what we've seen is Chris being attacked by more enemies on screen at the same time, than I've seen at any point in RE4. And then he clears like 5 of them with a punch. It's not a survival horror game.
