It was refershing how much he seemed to understand her. Following him silently, she could not help but feel guilty. "I am sorry Reeve. Fear is what drives me most. I really don't want to be a bother, but I don't want to hurt anyone ..." she silently walked behind him. The way he lifted his hand to his face, if she had not known better she would have thought he wiped a tear. Concerned for his well being, she caught up to his side and gently placed her hand on his shoulder. "Reeve, are you alright?"

"The only time you need to fear is when you enjoy hurting others. When you take pleasure in destruction..." Reeve's voice did not change, nor did his smile fade. Although he showed no signs, the inside of his head felt like it was being ripped apart. It had been happening for awhile, but did not stop after in normally did. Soon blood was running down his face, escaping an already blood-soaked blindfold. "In truth... I don't know."

Upon viewing his face, she could now see it was blood trickling down from beneath his blindfold. Letting her fingertips trail down his arm she cupped her hand over his. Concern for his wellbeing was clear in her voice. "Please Reeve, may I help you?"

There had only been one other time that Reeve had felt this pain. "I don't know if you can... Damn this blindfold is annoying." He grabbed onto the blindfold and pulled it off roughly, throwing it to the side. The cloth was compleatly covered with blood on one side, and was damp enough to get a couple drops of blood if one wrung it out. Blood was pouring from his pale, white eyes, but his smiled remained. As if reacting to his pain, the scars along his eyes also began to open. He squeezed her hand a bit, as he felt another twinge of pain. Though his face did not show it, his arm was reacting to the pain by flinching everytime another wave of pain hit his brain. "It will pass soon..."

"Has this happened before?" she said, sounding almost pained herself by seeing him in this state. "I can help, but I do not want to without your permission."

A hallow voice came from trees along the path they walked through the massive land that was the syndicates boarders. "Well well my blind friend....it appears you have a little trick to those dead eyes. As we have thought from the beginning..." the voice echoed softly. The voice itself deep and distinct. Easily able to be recognized by the tone and speech pattern as Yawgmoth's who was nowhere to be seen. Even with whatever method Reeve perceived the world Yawgmoth would not be seen for he was not actually there per say. "And there's our pet..ever so eager to lend a hand...how cute."

"Yeah..." Reeve finally felt the pain begining to slow. The intervals between the waves of pain grew further in between. "But as I said before, there is probably nothing that you can do..." The scars began to slowly reseal themselves. Reeve's grip on her hand began to loosen a bit as the pain began to die away. As the pain went away, Reev heard a voice. 'Why hello there Mr.Yawgmoth. You alreay knew you assumption was correct the last timw we met, did you not?' The pain had made him a little bit irritable, which was easier to seee when he was speaking through thoughts.

Moving both hands to either side of his head, she began to let herself feel what his wounds may be with magic. Before she was able to discover anything, she heard a familiar voice. With her concentration broken, she placed her hands on Reeve's shoulders, in an attempt to shield him from anything Yawgmoth may try. Irritated and disappointed that she was unable to help Reeve, she called out; "What do you want, Yawgmoth?"

"You to put a Lord or Sir or some form of a title before our name. We have well earned that place in the books of history and we will not have something like you disregard it now..." The voice came from nowhere once again. A small drip of liquid fell from one of the trees on the path and splashed silently behind Ziven. From the single drop of thick oil like liquid millions more came from all directions culminating into the solidfied mass that was the Phyrexian Emperor himself. "And if you don't bother to watch that tongue of yours.." his voice said once more now directly behind her towering, leering over, "We'll be more than happy to rip it from your skull.." he finished with a snarl. He did not care that Reeve was there already in his mind, despite him being uncomfortable around the blind that saw, had assumed Reeve weaker than he. "Yes we had. We did not know the extent of your tricks with them, but we knew they were far from blind and dead" Yawgmoth responded to Reeve

Reeve stood up straight. He had not been able to pinpoint the location of Yawgmoth until he heard the first drop. It was much to thick to be water, and there was an odd smell about the air now. 'I can't read books, so I wouldn't know Sir Yawgmoth.' He pulled another cloth from his pocket and wipped away the blood from his eyes and face. He did not need to face the man, knowing he was there was enough. "Just being blind isn't any fun, I had to give it something more." His smile grew a bit.

She whirled around, having heard his voice finally sounding from behind her. Keeping her body close to Reeve, she was ready to get him out of there at a moments notice. The expression on her face deadly serious, her eyes focused on him, clearly bitter. "It was you who said that I should not address you as such due to being from another land. If there are rules to follow, knowing them would prevent any further confusion as well as knowing any changes at your whim."

"Oh no no no. For you see. Our blind friend at least puts the formality of Mr. before our name. Despite our lack of formalities to him besides the generic 'friend' term. He has not earned our respect quite yet. Nor have you. Therefore, there is no need for such formality. But we, we rule an empire. Those are called Emperors for those who cannot grasp the concept. We would like to think, studying your culture here, that Emperors are at least granted some title despite their attitude. We know ours is far from perfect, perhaps down right cruel and evil. Which is just how we'd have it." Yawgmoth explained in a long ramble before taking a breath and placing his hands on Ziven's shoulders. The overlord leaned in close to her and whispered, attempting in such a low tone that Reeve would not hear him for he had used his assumption to gauge that Reeve had a superior sense of hearing as well as smell and feel from lack of sight. "Of course, you could just give us what we want and we'd leave all together. But that is up to you.."

She tried holding her head away from his as he leaned in to whisper in her ear. A chill ran through her, not wanting to have heard what he said. Had the three of them not been standing so close, she would have taken a step back. Instead she looked at the ground to the side of Yawgmoth and said firmly. "The more you push for that, the less chance you have to persuade me."
PostPosted: Tue Dec 12, 2006 9:09 pm

"My my how wrong you are" Yawgmoth whispered once again. "The more you push, the more the thing you're pushing against bends. And what happens when it can bend no more? It breaks. And when it's shattered you can do whatever you want with it as it cannot defend itself any longer. When we back you into that corner your choices will lie as two. Either you just submit and give us what we want. Or we break you. And from there on it's so easy to manipulate you into doing what we want anyway. Either way. We win. We always do.." he said leaning back pulling his head away from her ear with a light chuckle. "Begging the question that we have thought of it. What has brought the two of you out here to stroll anyway?"

Reeve listened carefully. Because of how close she was to him, and because of his exelent hearing, Reeve managed to make out almost everything that Yawgmoth said. "If you wouldn't mind, Mr.Yawgmoth, would you allow Ziven and I to continue our walk? I'm sure you don't enjoy interruptions when you are speaking to a person." He tilted his head a bit as he turned around to face Yawgmoth.
