~Sanctus Espiritus... Maddy nodded to Thard and just stood by the tree. "Long gone..." She put her hands in her coat pockets. A strange wind blew. It carried with it an odd chill, and an unfamiliar presence. She looked around. She had good eyesight in the dark, but couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then suddenly out of the shadows a man dressed in all black jumped at Maddy. He was blindingly fast, and she was knocked backwards onto the ground. She quickly got to her feet and leapt at him, claws brandished. She should've known this was a trap or something. Just as she was about to hit her mark, the man disappeared and reappeared behind her just as quickly. He held something sharp to her neck."You really need some practice..." The man said. His face was covered by a hood. And he had claws. That's what he had at Maddy's neck. He glanced over at Ginji, not that anyone could tell with his face covered, and said, "Don't you dare move."... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

I saw the scene unfold, but sensed no malice from the hooded man. Therefore I allowed Ginji and Maddy to deal with it and kept up my recon.

Ginji jumped to his feet, then relaxed his muscles as he leaned back against the tree, his left foot raised and placed against the trunk behind him. "And who may you be?" he asked calmly.

~Sanctus Espiritus... The man didn't make a move or say anything to Ginji. "Free yourself." He said to Maddy, pressing his claws to her throat a little more, making tiny scratches on the skin.Maddy swept backwards at him with her claws, causing him to jump backwards. He left light claw marks on her throat. Maddy jumped back and took on a defensive stance. "Who're you?!" Her heart was pounding in her chest. She was scared it might explode."Reckless move. I could have killed you just then if that was my intention." He straightened up and cracked his knuckles.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

DJ woke up on the couch knowing he overslept. He sleepily took his TADS out and text Maddy, "Hey where are you guys?"

Ginji felt for the energy around them as he got ready to attack if needed. Why was this man here?

~Sanctus Espiritus... Maddy couldn't really reach for her TADS at the moment. She didn't know when this guy was going to attack next. "Answer the question! Who are you?!" She asked, her voice filled with anger. She couldn't believe she allowed herself to be tricked so easily in these dark times."Calm down." The man said with a laugh. "And why bother asking? You know deep inside who I am."Maddy's breathing calmed, but she did not put down her claws. She was no longer mad that she had been tricked, but mad at what she had to go through because of this man. "You..."... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

I was reasonably certain there were no other threats in the area, so I moved a bit closer to the silver maple tree and listened in.

~Sanctus Espiritus... "Why're you here?!" She yelled, tears filling her eyes, which were now a light almost white shade of purple. He was the man she had longed to see her whole life. And now that he stood here before her, she was reacting the exact opposite way of how she thought she would act.With a sigh, the man pulled down his hood. His hair was jet-black like Maddy's, but his eyes were a blood red. He appeared only a bit older than Maddy, but in reality he was way older. "You need to get that anger under control, my dear." He said, his voice perfectly calm. "And does a man need a reason to see his daughter?"... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

DJ got up off he couch and ran out of HQ jumping onto Charizard flying in the direction of the Kanto region. "Charizard do your thing, I have a bad feeling something is going down in Pallet Town!" DJ said. Charizard complied and sped of to their destination.

So, the former Demon King makes his appearance. Maybe now we'll get some answers.
Looking to the sky, I can barely make out a flash of color coming our way. Whether it's a teammate or an enemy, it's too soon for me to tell.

~Sanctus Espiritus... "Yes, he does! Especially seeing how you abandoned me and brought this fate upon us all!" Maddy said angrily. Black flames began to dance around her. She was letting her anger get to her. This man was the reason for her filthy blood. And the demons had followed him here. He was the reason for everything bad that had been happening lately.Maddy's Father shook his head. "Have you been chasing me down all these years because you missed me? Or because you wanted to kill me?" He smirked and stepped toward. An amulet hung around his neck. It featured a purple crystal with a black center hanging on a gold chain. There was a horrid crack straight down the middle of it. "Don't let your demon side get the best of you. Please calm down.""NO!!!" She swiped at him, releasing three vertical waves of black and purple flame. "You did this to me!!!!!" She leapt at him, claws flashing, aiming for his throat.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

"Maddy, I believe this murderous intent will do nothing for the higher purpose. Think about it. This man know a way to stop the demons." Ginji said as he remain at his post, leaning on the tree.

Judging from how the man handled Maddy's earlier attack, I figured this lunge would pose no danger either. Nonetheless, I readied my sword, just in case.
