Tomo rested a hand over his eyes to block out the oncoming migraine and waved with the other hand, "Hey, River." He murmured, leaning back against the cushions, "How's your day been going?"

"I'm a little miserable. I feel like I'm catching a cold." He murmured, ears laying flat on his head. "Just when I stop feeling sick from the baby, this starts." He added in a grumpy tone. His skin was warm to the touch because of a relatively mild fever and his body looked weak.

"You'd be surprised what we can live through," He said, taking the mug with both hands. Though his body was warmer than it should have been, he still felt cold. "Thank you, though. I'll make sure I work hard on getting better. I won't just wait it out like I usually do."

Tomo opened one eye to gaze at her and smiled a little bit. "Actually, slaves seem to come to me. First with Ukaia, then Jake, and now her. It's ironic, really." He said softly. He closed his eye again and sipped his tea, "Yule won't let me set her free. It makes her think I don't want her. I tried to free Ukaia once and it made her uncomfortable. Only until she began to settle down with Vincent did she ask me to free her again. Jake... I guess I've been too afraid to ask him. I hate slavery. I hate it with every bone in my body. So, I suppose I keep them here because I know they'll be treated with kindness."

Tomo shook his head, "I hadn't noticed," He replied with a hint of sarcasm. "I'll be all right. This isn't the worst I've had, so it should clear up within a day or so," He assured her, "But thanks for worrying about me."

Ellie walked down the stairs, having stolen Baizou's slippers, and was running into everything with laarge fuzzy feet. She stumbled down the last few steps and landed with a soft padded thud on both feet and giggling at how easily entertained she was. "Oh Tomo, dear... A cold?" she weened, making fun of him, then walking over with a content smile. "Ahh.. Sorry you aren't feeling well... But it's great to see ya again, it's been ages!" she said, throwing her long sleeved shirt-clad arms in the air. The cuffs were way too long to be her own, and the tails of the bottom hem reached her thighs.

River shook her head and stood, walking away from him so he could talk to the girl sitting herself on the bar stool, even when people where around she was bored. Sighing with content again she leaned into the chair, eyes closed.
