All this got me thinking about Revelations, the last book of the bible. It's scary $#!T
Does that have the apocalypse in it?

Yep. Well... not the Apocalypse, per-say... More like an Armageddon with a bad ending for 90% of the population.
The population that aren't christains?

Well, people who aren't following God's laws. It's a really interesting read, though. Like you can be redeemed and have a second chance at life and stuff. I don't want to get into a religious debate, though. xp

Don't you have to accept Jesus's gift or else you go to hell? In rapture, doesn't Jesus come back only for the people that believe in him? Is it true that as long as you ask for forgivness even if you are a mass murderer, that you will get into heaven? These are just questions. xd

No. There's no such thing as hell. At least what you're thinking. When the bible makes references to hell (it usually says Gehenna or something), it's talking about where the Devil is going to be after Armageddon.

The bible never mentions "the rapture" I have it on cd and can search the text. Probably where this beleif stemmed from, though, is when after Armageddon is over and the earth is a paradise for those chosen by God.

Again, most people don't go to heaven. Let me tell you why. Only 144, 000 humans will make it into heaven. They are to be God's "helpers" to watch over human kind when the earth is a paradise and perfect man will live on earth. The bible never says "you be good and go to heaven". It DOES say "the meek shall inherit the earth".

(We can continue this discussion in PM if you want, cause this is not on topic, and I don't want people trying to have religious debates with me on here...)

lol religion debates....

you dont have to be a christian to get into heaven....basically everyone prays to the same God, so i suppose the good people in life will be rewarded....

if you repent i believe you are forgiven....

my answers may not be exact because i'm not a theological scholar but thats what i have learned razz

Not everyone worships Jesus or believes hes the son of god. Anyways, I think being atheist or agnostic(Or Unitarian) is the way too go! No creeds!

Hell yeah Zach, I'm totally with you there. I was raised Roman Catholic and after I realized the amount of BS was coming out of my priests mouth I said, *in Cartman voice*"Screw you guys, I'm going home." Now I don't mean to offend anyone here but Christianity IMO contains the mass majority of hypocrites in the world, another reason I got out when I could.

Not really...Polytheistic religions believe in many Gods...Budhism believes in Budda. And muslims call thier God Allah..I think Pagans believe in nature Gods or something.

the Muslim's Allah=the Jew's Yahweh=the Christian's God

Christianity derived from Judaism which derived from Muslim. They all pray to the same God but call him different names and think that they are better than the other.

That's an oversimplification if ever I saw one.

well i was explaining it to zach who is 13-14. I was trying to keep it simple.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 12:19 pm

But each religion doesn't believe the same thing about the Gods..I guess you can say they pray to the same God...Actually, people even have different beliefs about God in thier within a religion. I take global honors..The order is Judiasm-Christianity-Islam. The religion of Christianity formed because Jews didn't believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Then came Muhammad who spread Islam and conquered Makkah and that's also the place where you are supposed to make a pilgrimage in a lifetime as a muslim. Muhammad wanted people to convert to Islam because he recieved words through Angel Gabriel through Allah. He also saw a disturbing gap between the rich and the poor. The holy book of Islam is the Quaran...So I really don't need thing explained simpler because of my age..I also know some history..

the you also know that jews/christians/muslims are people of the book....they all lead to one God

hinduism is polytheistic, but essentially their different gods form characteristics of a whole
sikhism, i think is a mix of hiduism and buddhism
buddhists dont consider buddha a God, he is their religious leader

oh yea age may have a factor in our knowledge but not always xD

@zach- I was taught that it went Islam-Judaism-Christianity. Eventhough I learned that over 5 years ago so I could very well be wrong.

@clue- You are right about the age thing, but in my experience overwhelmingly more times than not age does factor into knowledge.

Nope, Judaism is the oldest monothestic religion. Muhammad is to believed to be the final prophet and the most central one. Islam is also believed by muslims to be the best of the three and think there the religion that got it right. Muslims also believe in Jesus and Moses, but there not as central to the religion as Muhammad. What grade did you learn it?
