thanksgiving is coming up and i am totally disillusioned sad

My social and political philosophy professor told the class that thanksgiving never really occured

and while i knew that the pilgrims and natives never actually sat down at a banquet together i still maintained the illusion that they were some what friendly

then he said that the pilgrims used one of the first forms of biological warfare against the natives by purposely giving them blankets infected with smallpox

and that the story of thanksgiving is a "noble lie" used by our founders. like the one suggested by socrates in plato's republic

informative, accurate, and depressing

xd yah its finally december!!! well tomorrow it is, but anyway i can't wait to take a break from school and see my family for christmas.

actually he is very sweet

with an excellent, if unusual, sense of humor

of all the foreign born teachers that i've had he is definately my favorite

much better than my algebra teacher from Romania

her favorite phrase was "Americans are so stupid!"

she really did wonders for my self-esteem neutral
