::Sometimes words just arent what need to be said. Sometimes the look on a teary face, that small glimmer of hope in a moment of sadness says everything that need be said.

Her eyes met his just at the touch his hand. Dark emerald eyes met Suns beaming forth the tangled web of confused teenage emotions swirling in her. Youth can be a confusing thing, especially when a mixed up mind is home to several other minds each as mixed up as the rest. But silently she gazed in his eyes, and gently she nodded as he gave his final words of hope.

Was he...trying to...help her? With the exception of her father no one had ever done that before normally she was the one helping.

Sun pulled back, but Mary wasnt hurt, she saw the exhaustion in his eyes, the pain in his face. She leaned forward and slung her arms around him. And just squeezed. Not so much as to be painful. But enough as to show him he did help. She'd stay there for the next few moments before gaining enough strength to barely whisper above her breath.::

Thank you....

::Before having the moment somewhat broken by a rather loud "Ding!". Mary forced a half smile and tried to wipe the tears from her eyes as she tried to help Datho stand up. And she'd try and help him waddle to his room, and to the bed. Hoping he did remember that the bed is where people normally sleep. She pulled herself back together for the most part, so despite the mascara stains on her shirt, she was forcing a rather good smile when she spoke.::

If you need anything, all you have to do is call. Have a good night Datho...

Reds went by in a tired blur as Sunstrike stumbled after Mary. Over the soft carpet, his still bare feet hardly feeling it tickle by. Into the warm room he barely took notice of, and finally to the bed, the first thing to come into solid focus.

Before crawling in, however, he turned to Mary, a smile lighting up his face as he gave her shoulder a soft poke.

"You and me...should have a party. Later...when you feel better. Dress up, have..." He thought about it. "Little cakes, with frosting and tea..." That mostly covered all of what he wanted to ask for. And with the proposal made, he crawled over the covers and sprawled in the middle, although rather horizontal then the usual verticle most people would have been comfortable with. One arm automatically went over his eyes, but the other motioned to Mary.

"I will...make decorations, if you...make...sandwiches, again." His voice became softer and softer before sleep finally took him, and all Mary would hear was the soft, and finally constant sound of his breathing.

::Mary couldnt help but smile. And the way he'd sprawl out across the bed was just so cute. She stiffled a bit of a giggle and nodded, saying very softly.::

Of course...we'll even have little hats....

::She reached into the nearby night stand and pulled out a thing cotton sheet and laid it over Datho. Tucking him in only seemed like the right thing to do at the moment. And then very quietly she made her way to the door, and turned off the lights.::

Goodnight...

::She whispered before shutting the door and making her way down to the elevator and minutes later to her room.::

---Meanwhile 3 miles South---

The stars in the night sky dont seem nearly as bright...

::A man paces back and forth around the end of long table. The table itself is candle lit. 3 candles placed at the head, middle, and foot, of its 5ft length. On either side of the table are cushions on which 4 men sit. Each looks rather old, and each is dressed in rather formal flowing robes. Each has long white hair, and looks entirely too old. The standing pacing figure wears a sort of golden circlet on his head, and no one seems to meet his eyes dead on. Though one of the older men speaks up in responce to him.::

It is only natural for a man who has lost a child to respond this way. But your Majesty we mus--

::The gold crowned figure lifts his hand and in a moment the man goes silent and bows his head.::

My child is alive. He is NOT gone, and we WILL find him. And whoever has him will PAY if even a hair on his perfect head is misaligned!

::Another man spoke up.::

But your majesty our abilities d--

::He is immediately cut off.::

I know that! What use is a council of nittering old men if they only seek to tell me what I already know. Give me solutions!

::Silence fell over the room for what had to be a good 5 minutes. Each man seemingly deep in thought with the exception of the king who seemed to be deep in depression. And finally one spoke up.::

Your majesty...I believe I have an idea.

Beat...beat...beat...

The darkness throbbed and expanded in his mind, like it was stretched over something that was trying to break free...or impact upon itself. Gone was the safety of the large, imposing doors of mindstuff. Gone were the peaceful moments of almost hermatic solitude in the shadows, where his spirit resided, chained and bound.

Hell...he didn't even know where his spirit was anymore, it had been lost in the glass, along with all it's bindings. The darkness had been apart of that.

Sunstrike registered the problem with nothing short of panic. He didn't know why and it wasn't the same sort of pain filled feeling he got with thoughts of what had happened to him all those years he'd been taken.

He knew he had to help...before that darkness bro- No...He had to help with what was behind the dark. But not yet. There was no control yet. It would be taken in hand when the time came, and then, then it would be alright.

Everything would be alright.

His eyes opened to darkness. Snow, in it's purest form of white was falling out of the window as he lay there, unmoving. He was satisfyed to lie within the soft covers, and wait.

I've been in the dark a long time.

::The voice spoke, but its source was seemingly untraceable. It wasnt a threatening but was instead rather friendly. Yet it wasnt the Doctors voice, and it wasnt the familiar voices of anyone Datho had come to know in this place. Yet, the voice might seem familiar, he had heard it before. But spoke again.::

Infact I've been in the dark most of my life.

::Most obviously with no sun to speak of the room was rather dark. The red lights from outside provided a beautiful view of the snow, but they didnt illuminate the rooms themselves. Datho would feel a bit of pressure as if someone had joined him, sitting on the corner of the bed facing the window. And infact, it seemed the darkness in this room had focused there...or perhaps not. Perhaps it was just a figment of his shattered mind. But it spoke again.::

But I've never seen a place as dark as this...or a mind as darkened as yours...Mr. Sunstrike.

::!?::

Sunstrike's eyes moved for the first time as the weight settled, just a swirl and a shift in focus to take in the new shadow his mind had supplied. It was right, somehow, this voice. So much so that it wasn't long before his vision turned back to contemplating the same window the shade was.

He didn't speak for the longest while, not trusting words and thoughts to line up with themselves.

"Sun..." It wasn't a statement, actually more like a soft demand, as if the Mr. were an unwanted addition. Then his eyebrows furrowed. "Wait...that's..." His hand went to his forehead, blocking out everything like a stubborn child.

"There is no more Sun. S'too cold."

Sunstrike
"There is no more Sun. S'too cold."

Indeed. No one seems to like the "Mr." anymore.

::The voice laughed, as it seemed to focus on the dark corner of bed. Finally, it had a source, and slowly the darkness in the corner of the bed swirled into a more humanoid form. Though as if the figure was shrouded in smoke, it visage was still blocked. But it sounded less eerie when it spoke.::

Cold? I can get you a blanket if you'd like.

::Its eyes werent visible, and its face was nothing more than a barely seen shrouded mask. But, yet, one could tell it was looking at Sun. And perhaps even that it was smiling.::

Sunstrike shakily put his hand underneath his body, and half levied himself up, only to drag himself forwards and closer to the shadow, practially lying his head on a blurred knee. Drawn to any sort of company in the large, and very lonely room.

He still hadn't lost any of his usual habits, just misplaced them while his body healed. Physical contact had never really been an issue with him, and it'd remain that way until something forced him to make it such. The only problem was that this being played hardball...and wouldn't be solid at all as a hand reached out to poke a shoulder.

"Not...what I meant." Sun lay on his back, looking up at the "face" and shrugged. "Why...have you come?" He didn't mind the company, was just puzzled as to it's arrival, his mind was slowly catching up to his wakeful state.

::From that close angle would could definately see that the figure was smiling. Its form birthed out of memory in Suns mind. As it stood, it was seen in a form Sun's mind could handle. In this case a familiar one. At the right angle its eyes even seemed to slightly glow, as did its teeth. Sharp, pointed, rows of teeth.::

You called me, Mist--Sunstrike.

::He said again in that friendly tone. A black wispy hand reaching down to gently poke Datho's nose. It wouldnt really be felt, just more seen. But it was there none the less.::

For someone nicknamed Sunny...why's it so dark...in here?

::He his finger slid up the bridge of Suns nose and poked his forehead.::
PostPosted: Fri Sep 15, 2006 4:23 pm

Sunstrike's hands started to ache...

"I called..." His eyes shifted to watch the finger, even if it didn't make contact, Sun winced. "You...I can't remember...I know...n-n-not right..." He started to shiver words tumbling over themselves as he pushed himself up, seeing more and more of the "ghost".

"It's dark, why...why were your eyes so..." He gulped air.

"...stop..." He yanked the covers over his form, tried to close his eyes. "It's dark, it's not, I'm not...right...it consumes, it hungers, it's there...d-d-d-darkness but not..." Sun's hand pushed into the skin of his forehead, as if he were holding it in.

"Bottomless soul." Finally a painfilled eye cracked open at the being, accusing as well as naming the cause.

::He turned slightly and with a creak leaned against one of the bed posts. He just watched Sun with an amused smile on his face as he dashed under the covers and as he felt his mind twist and churn trying to right itself. And then Sun peaked back out.::

Bottomless soul? Interesting theory. Indeed.

::He said, leaning back to chuckle a bit and gazing out the window.::

But only time will tell, wont it?

::Again spoken ever so gently as he turned back to the poking head of Sunstrike.::

I think you need some sleep, dont you?
PostPosted: Fri Sep 15, 2006 4:48 pm

Something akin to irony passed over Sunstrike's face.

"How could you tell?" It was probably THE most Sun thing he'd said since getting there, and it was to a completely...or half complete figure of his imagination.

"Not a lotta time left." Sun looked down for a moment but then perked up happily. "All broken, will be mended. No more pain." This seemed to leave him slightly giddy as he grinned. His head tilted.

"Do you know how?"

::He giggled a bit. It wasnt a girly giggle but more of a little kid with a deep voice sort of giggle. The giggle was his answer to the first question. As if to kindly say, that it wasnt time to reveal that card just yet. He cocked his head as Sun continued though. Most often madness is only a very frightening form of enlightenment. And the figure smiled a bit wider at the mention of "No more pain".::

How?

::He said in quiet and curious responce.::

Sunstrike blinked, wondering how he could put this. Scooting to the edge of the bed, he gently slipped out, testing the floor with his bad leg to see if he could put weight on it. The bed creaked as he walked to the middle of the big room, before limping back. He'd begun to pace, thinking almost aloud.

"By taking Datho apart." He giggled much like the shadow had at the beginning. There was something painful about how happy he was saying this. "But first...chores to do...big chores. Help the doctor."

Innocent empty eyes looked at the shade over his shoulder.

"Penance."

::The figure was without a definite set of legs, and so as Sun stood and paced made his way to the center of the room. It stood, seemingly gliding for a few steps and then simply leaned against the bedframe. Always with that calm smile.

It was true there was something quite wrong with the way Sun seemed so excited about something so painful, and so off. Its almost as if he wanted it, or felt he deserved it so he was happy it was finally happening. Like it was..::

Sunstrike
"Penance."

::That told so much and yet so little at the same time.::

Penance for what? I hardly see you as the type to have commited a crime worthy of this.
