About fifteen minutes later, Krystal descended upon Azalea Town, and Nina dismounted her Pokemon, returning it to its Pokeball. "Let's see," she said, looking around quickly, as the rain got a little heavier, "Union Cave... is... that way." She started to run along Route 33, trying not to fall, as the mud made it a bit hard for her to travel in, and the near pitch-black darkness didn't help much, either.
"Gah," she said after travelling for at least another fifteen minutes. "Finally..." She had arrived at the cave, and rushed inside of it, and was glad to get out of the rain. "Now, there's only one that comes every week... So that means I'm going to have to do an extreme amount of searching to find it. And it doesn't help that there's seven other different types of Pokemon that live here, either..." She let out a little bit of a sigh. "I'd better get looking, then."

Kilik smiled brightly at the oddly colored Scizor. She cast a look at her trainer, then closed her claws. The boy took a step back. The Egg in his bag twitched once more. Scizor moved toward it trainer, holding out its claws. Quickly, Kilik lifted up the Park Ball and returned her to its confines. He let out a heavy sigh, then looked at Mike. "Thanks for the evolution, Mikey!" he dropped the ball into his pocket, then took a seat next to Ryka.
Flareon hopped up into his lap, his playtime with Espeon obviously over. Kilik put his backpack onto the table and unzipped it, removing the Egg. It was twitching very violently now. "I wonder what's up...?" he whispered. He then looked at Mike, who was now tossing a very happy Magby up and down. He sighed, "I wish this thing would hurry up and hatch," he mumbled, poking the Egg. It twitched once more.

Bahamut gave out a cry as the Slash attack hit it but shook it off and gave an angry glare at the other pokemon. "Bahamut let's use your Dragon Breath attack." Dante comanded, he wanted his pokemon to stay as far away from that Gilglar as it could. "Try to keep your distance from your opponant." He added in. The dragon pokemon nodded and opened it's mouth as flames started to appear in her mouth befor shooting the flames at Gliglar in the Dragon Breath attack.

"Jeez! When are you going to stop showing up?!" Krystal yelled, before yet another Onix tried to attack her. It rushed at her in a Tackle attack, but Krystal blasted it with a Surf attack before it was able to hit her. The large Rock-type Pokemon crashed to the ground, and Krystal smiled triumphantly. She continued to travel with Nina, and helped to look for the Lapras... But, they still turned up nothing. Krystal slithered into the water and allowed Nina to Surf on her back, and the duo continued to look.
Because of the fact that there were so many rooms in the Cave to look through, Nina and Krystal had spent an enormous amount of time searching around. "Lapras are very intelligent," she said, "so it's likely hiding away from us. It's unlikely that it could have gotten past us if it was trying to, because I'd certainly notice an eight foot tall, blue dragon-like, water-dwelling creature." Krystal cooed in agreement, and Nina grinned. "After all, you'd have to be blind t--"
Her sentence was cut off abruptly as she heard a faint noise coming from the back of the cave. "What... is that?" she whispered, nearly inaudibly. The noise sounded strangely melodic and familiar. "It sounds like something's singing... OH!" Nina exclaimed, "it's probably the Lapras! I had forgotten that they possessed the ability to sing... Krystal, follow that sound!" The Dragonair nodded, and it continued to Surf through the water, following the song.
A short time later, Nina and Krystal entered a fairly small room. It was filled mostly with water, but in the center of the room was a platform. A smile came onto Nina's face as she saw one of the most exquisite Pokemon in existance. The Lapras stopped its singing and turned its head in Nina's direction. Its giant, soft eyes seemed to melt the girl's heart, and the Pokemon slipped into the water a moment later. It knew what Nina wanted, and it was prepared to fight her.
"Krystal, drop me off on the platform," Nina said, and her Pokemon complied. She stood on the platform and looked to Krystal. "Do you think you could battle the Lapras for me?" Slowly, the Dragonair nodded. She Surfed backwards a little bit, putting some distance in between herself and the Lapras...

Jaeshan had watched the exchange between Kilik and Mike with interest. He finished his cocoa, and tossed out the cup, only to turn around to see Mike with a small Magby. Jaeshan tilted his head, thinking that perhaps he too should acquire a fire type. The young man took a seat out of the way, and pulled out his PokeDex, and did a search for fire Pokemon. He shook hs head lightly at most of the entries, nothing really seemed to suit him. He smiled slightly at the picture of Torchic, the Chick Pokemon. It was adorable, to say the least. He then studied the entry of Combusken, Torchic's evovled form. He scatched his chin, thinking that perhaps a dual fire/fighting type would be too much. He clicked over to the next page of the PokeDex, and gasped slightly. "Blaziken," he mouthed, a grin forming on his face. "That's it," he said, closing the device and putting it into his pocket. He could hardly contain his smile as he walked past Mike and his Pokemon, and stared out the window at the pouring rain. He would get himself a Torchic. He didn't know exactly how, but he was determined.

...And she lunged forward in a Slam attack. The Lapras, not expecting to be attacked so suddenly, was struck in the chest and knocked back a bit. "All right!" Krystal said, with a grin. The Lapras seemed a little annoyed, and rushed Krystal, jumping onto her and landing a Body Slam attack perfectly. Krystal dove underwater and surfaced several feet away from the Lapras, trying to shake off the damage it had just been dealt. That... actually kind of hurt, she thought, before looking to the Lapras. She swam around in circles multiple times and created a Twister attack, which was sent straight for the other Pokemon. It collided, and actually lifted the Lapras up into the air. Seizing this opportunity, the Dragonair flew upwards and did a nose dive, crashing into the Transport Pokemon, knocking it out of the Twister (which subsided a few moments later) and inflicting a bit more damage onto it. "All right!" Krystal said, feeling a bit confident.
The Lapras, however, felt more annoyed than it did beforehand. It widely opened its mouth, and it started to glow a light blue. "What the--" Krystal began to say; however, it had no time to finish its sentence before the Lapras sent out an Ice Beam attack, crashing into the Dragon Pokemon and inflicting a heavy amount of damage. "Gah!" she cried out, and flew backwards into one of the cave's walls. She fell back into the water, weakened, but determined not to give up until the end.
Using Agility, Krystal upped her speed, and she took advantage of this by repeatedly using her Slam attack to damage the Lapras. However, it flailed around and rapidly shot out Ice Beams; after a few moments had passed, one of them finally connected with Krystal. She fell into the water, still conscious, but barely so. "Unh," she said, "I can... still fight! That won't stop--" Her words were cut off as she felt a chill running up and down her body. Slowly, Krystal became encased in ice, and was entirely immobile.
"Oh no!" Nina cried out, recalling her Pokemon. "I can't let Lapras get away..." She was silent for a moment, but then smiled. She took two Pokeballs from her belt, throwing them up into the air, and releasing the Pokemon from inside them.
On top of Mihoshi's back, who was flying around in the air, sat Sakura. She spied the Lapras, and grinned. "Mihoshi!" she said, "we've got to finish what Krystal started!"

Venerax brushed the dirt from himself again. How long have I been here at this?, He thought while he walked to the Pewter PokeCentre. His tenth lost against Brock, wasn't it? He rolled his eyes at himself.
He'd been here for months now trying to earn the boulder badge, so Calculus could use his Flash. He'd been debating for a month now of throughing down the towel and heading off to Cinnabar island to get his fossil examined.
He nodded to Nurse Joy as he entered the centre handing over his two pokemon for her tender care, while he went back to, My almost home,, he ruefully thought. No, I'm not about to give up. Not now. I will find a way to win, but I'll sleep on it first. He didn't even bother with the shower as he lay upon his bed, he'd win, his pride wouldn't allow anything less.

"That's a great idea," Kasiya nodded, looking up at Flannery. Why couldn't someone cool and respectable like her, a gym leader, be my sister? Instead I get an admin of Team Rocket, who's mission is most likely to kill me and my friends? Kasiya sighed, and relaxed in her seat. "I hope we get there soon," she murmured, and soon the humming and movement of the train had put her to sleep.

Akane jumped a little at the crash of distant thunder. "I must be close now" she said to herself. Digging in her satchel she found the note with the address on it. "lets see ... number 14. That should be .... down that way?"
After a few wrong turns Akane managed to find the repairmans house. Many strange gadgets were protruding from the roof, one of them looking like it might be a lightning rod. She steeled herself with a gulp and approached the front door. At least there were some lights on, faint lihgts, yet lights all the same. Akane knocked. Akane waited. And waited. She knocked again, and eventually the door opened, the face of a youngish woman, maybe mid twenties, peered out from behind the door.
"Oh, you poor dear! Why are you out in this weather and so late! What would your parents say!" exclaimed the young woman.
"Please, I've come from the Pokemon Center in town. The power is out there and the generators out too. Is the repairman around? Nurse Joy asked me to come and see if he could come and take a look at it."

"Well, I'm sorry to say this, but ... my husband, the repairman has been called away to Saphron. It sems like they're having some trouble with the storm too. You only missed him by around a half hour or so. Come in and I'll get you some hot cocoa and maybe I can kind some spare boots." The young lady looked at Akane's mud splatered shoes, they weren't at all suited to treking through the mud. "Take them off before you come in?" she asked.
The lights were on here, though they weren't very bright. The house had some semblence of tidyness about it yet half finished gizmos were scatered here and there. The main living area was mostly clear though, thanks largely to the wife thought Akane. She knew how messy her Dad could be. Akane took her muddy shoes off and left them outside. The lady went into a back room and the sound of water running and some clicking could be heard. Akane moved to the living room and waited, choosing not to sit she looked at the few gizmos on tables and such.

"The cocoa will be ready soon" said the lady as she came back into the living room. "I've got some old boots I use for the garden and I'm sure I can spare a flashlight. I can tell you where he was called to if you intend to go after him."
"Yes, I think I should. Nurse Joy is counting on me." Akane sighed, "I should get going pretty soon though. Oh, and don't worry, I'll come back and give your boots and flashlight back."
"Well ... don't worry about the boots dear, it'll give me a reason to buy a new pair" the older lady winked.

"Me too," replied Flannery, smiling as the dozing girl's head came to rest on her shoulder. She put an arm around her shoulder, and looked out the window. Before long, Flannery could feel her eyes drooping, and her head nodding. She leaned back a bit, and allowed sleep to take her. She too was soon fast asleep, and dreaming of the many battles she'd held back home in her own gym in Lavaridge.

Keegan sauntered into the Pokemon Center, feeling pretty good about himself despite the majority of his day being crap. He glanced over at the Knuckle Badge pinned prouldy to his chest, and he gave it a quick shine as he recalled a pouting Artemis into her Pokeball. "I'm baaack," he grinned at Nurse Joy, leaning across the counter and fitting his five Pokeballs into the tray. He continued to grin as he slid the tray towards her. "They need some TLC," he said sweetly. "If you don't mind, that is."
"Of course not," Joy giggled, taking the tray. "They'll be all rested up in no time." She smiled, and took his Pokemon to the treatment room. Keegan wheeled around on a foot, and gently touched the shiner on his left eye. At least it wasn't swollen shut anymore. A pretty girl with flaming red hair like his was seated on a chair, reading a magazine. She glanced up as Keegan walked by, and the boy smiled and winked at her. She returned his smile, blushing a little, and went back to her magazine. Keegan dropped his stuff on the ground in front of the couch, where he flopped down, feeling incredibly tired. If he fell asleep right there, he wouldn't care in the least.

Jaeshan sat down at one of the tables, and leaned on his elbows while he continued to stare out the window. His mind was working on overdrive trying to come up with a plan to get himself a Torchic. He knew they wouldn't likely be found in the wild, and he'd most likely have to contact a Pokemon Breeder. His family weren't the battling types, he'd been the first in a while to set off on a journey to collect badges and Pokemon. The members of his family did have Pokemon, although they were companions and 'pets' really. The boy lifted his head and locked his fingers together, staring at the table as he tried to think of some sort of plan. He could vaguely remember one of his friends saying they'd come from a family of breeders, but he couldn't quite remember which one. He took his PokeNav out of his pocket, and sorted through the names on it, hoping that one would trigger a memory.

"No... no... no..." the boy mumbled, going from name to name. "Keegan..." Jaeshan paused, thinking. He'd met him right here, in Vermilion not too long ago, and he too had been from Hoenn. He looked at the number for a moment, and sighed. It wouldn't hurt to at least call and say hello, right? He glanced over at Mike and the others, and hit 'dial.' The PokeNav beeped as the number was imput, and it started to ring. Jaeshan waited patiently for Keegan to answer.
