I've HEARD things about the end of the manga, and I've tried an episode or so with subs. But I will continue to prefer FUNi's version. So if I say something and I'm just like. Not right? Or no one understands why I don't seem to see something. xD Lawl, it might be because of this.

So what I mean is. xD I don't know where Yukina and Kuwabara stood as far as the end of the manga. (I should probably read it...I've been considering doing that, because I need new YYH stuff to do).

But just smack me on the head if I seem ignorant to something, because I don't mean to be, I just have only the English Dub to go by. (My fault, I limit myself due to my outrageous love for Justin Cook. ;D)

It WOULD, because there's not much of a set up in the show to play by.

Like, Kurama/Hiei for example. They have a set up, if that makes sense, canon-wise. XD Not that they ARE canon, that's not what I mean at all. It's that, you could play pretty easily with what they have.

You know they're close and you know they're secretive with each other and Kurama can poke fun at Hiei and IS his friend. Really, you know Kurama's Hiei's BFFL. razz

Best friends are one of the easiest ships ever. You just take that closeness to the next level. Especially with mysterious characters like them, that don't necessarily have a set sexuality. It's what makes them so flexible, yet almost simple to ship.

Or...let's say...guh, this will be HORRIBLE OF ME - Yusuke/Kuwabara.

NOT THE SAME. IT JUST ISN'T. Close best friends, but they don't have the SET UP canon-wise, if you understand what I'm on about at all. xD

Their closeness isn't 1) mysterious and secretive and BFFLs. 2) It's much more of a bromance, and when you have a set BROMANCE up? You can't mess with it in sexual terms.

There's bromance, and then there's possible room for slashmance. razz

I would never call Hiei and Kurama's friendship a bromance - which is why their set up is different. Make sense? Or am I just ridiculous? xD

And then there's canon set ups: Yukina/Kuwabara and Yusuke/Keiko - they're given the chemistry and the feelings, but whether they worked out or not is unknown, which is what I like. (Mainly because I don't ship the latter, because I honestly do not believe their chemistry was anything worthwhile and strong enough to survive past close, childhood friends. razz I don't believe in their ability to get and stay married. xD I don't hate her, and I don't care about slashing Yusuke - I just don't believe in it. xD) Yukina/Kuwabara...I PRETEND worked out, because the damn thing was too lame to give me their obviously most adorable wedding. razz And then I pretend Kuwabara drank from the Fountain Of Youth and they sit around makin' babies forever and ever. Kthx.

WELL, ANYWAY.

As for Koenma and Yusuke...well, there's not really any setup at all. XD Which is what makes it hard, as well as flexible. ONE, you'd have to set it up yourself = both hard and flexible. xD

What we know is it's a very...it's a very simple relationship canon. Why? It's kind of a boss/employee turned friendship.

YESSS. I CALL THEM FRIENDS. xD Because they are. It's not the most focused on of Yusuke's friendships. razz Not until it becomes one, and then it's kind of ignored again in favor of the other three being his main team. But by the end, they clearly get along - and really? xD If I had to think about it for slash purposes for a minute, I'd really only be able to imagine it one sided. xD

SO, REALLY, IT'S KINDA CRACKISH. And I got it out of boredom, of course - but years of thinking about it, I've decided it COULD work, and at least is definitely more plausible than certain other ships in the main cast. xD At least in my opinion. I'd explain why, but omfg, that could take forever and might not actually make as much sense as it just happens to in my head.

For all I know, I'm delusional.

All I know is where I decided to ship them, and so far, I stand by that. xD

The basis of their relationship in the show (not slashy, just fo real xD) is simply: There'd be no Yusuke without Koenma, and Koenma never would've grown up and pulled his head out of his a** if he hadn't know Yusuke. razz

(And I MIGHT just like to think of them a little bit like my FAVORITE EVER SLASH SHIP in some real-person show I watch...though, that show is FAAAAR more valid for shipping them two. xD Koenma and Yusuke will forever remain a little bit random.)

IN THE END, I think if one put enough consideration into the plausibility of a set up between the two, they could be much more believable than any of these ships:

Kurama/Yusuke
Hiei/Yusuke
Kurama/Yukina
Hiei/Keiko (I threw it in there because people ship it. razz )
Koenma/Botan

...Am I a bad person for not seeing any believability to Koenma/Botan?

AND I KNOW I SOUND LIKE A FREAK. XD I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me razz Or even see what I see - I'm sure it's all my mind playing tricks on me. Too much shirtless Yusuke and adult Koenma in one scene made my slash!girl start rattling, made me crazy, and I can no longer see the truth. THAT IS CLEARLY IT.

And I want to deliver a set up, just to see if it proved to be believable in anyway (like, one of those fanfictions that you're convinced could just be canon. I read a Psych fanfic like that, it was brilliant. Now I'm SURE Lassie and Shawn are gay - but that's sooooo off-topic) xD But I don't think I'd know where to start.

And I wouldn't reject having any of those pairings thrown in my face with some good reasons to think it'd work. And if someone WANTS ME TO EXPLAIN MY THOUGHT PROCESS, I'd be happy to try and make sense out of Koenma/Yusuke in words all for you. <3 I just don't want to terrify and bore anyone without warning. xDDD



AND JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW - I like canon as canon is. I wouldn't change the show for slash. ******** that, that isn't what Yu Yu Hakusho is about. It's not a weird dating game, or some s**t. It's a tale of friendship and ADVENTURE and GROWING UP TOGETHER, WOO. Not who's banging who.

But that's what I believe FANDOM is for. We have fanfiction to go behind the scenes and off in different directions at the end.

So while I love canon as is, and would fight to keep it the way it is - I do like my many different ships, and I generally prefer my slash - unless a GOOD hetero couple can make me like them more than the slash one. Like Kuwabara/Yukina makes me happy. And if I could honestly believe in Yusuke/Keiko, I'd take that s**t too. Same with Koenma/Botan - if I thought that made any goddamn sense, I'd be all over it. xD

Boys just happen to seem more likely slashable to me, especially when they have all that damn chemistry with another boy. xD

(edit: btw, this ramble pulled my Koenma fangirl out and I turned on Tanaka Mayumi's voice and pulled up google for some googling, and I just remembered that ridiculously uninteresting episode right after the Sensui saga. xD The only thing about that kept me entertained was the random of Yusuke skipping school to do the most random of activities with horribly-dressed-human!Koenma. XD The first picture on google was Koenma and Yusuke at some diner. What the ******** is Koenma drinking, guys? Srsly. xD Yusuke's got this simple coffee cup, and Koenma's got this bitchin' banana smoothie-looking drink. XD ...Wtf, random, sorry. xD)

Hmm. I'm considering what you're saying here about Kurama/Yusuke. *goes to find other posts* And now that you mention it, wtf is with the secret telling? He DOES do that.

(random: one of my favorite parts of the series was Yusuke carrying him. razz And that "I'll ******** kill you" face when that dude bloodied Kurama up. xD I have a thing for bloodied up characters - but also for extreme amounts of cute like Yusuke's reactions. xD)

I was more drawn to that ridiculous drink Koenma had. Wtf, he went all out. And he looks like Kurama dressed him. xD

That whole episode was just special, if I remember correctly. Kuwabara and Keiko were both like "Where's Yusuke?! D:" And then Yusuke's in some diner with Koenma and they're all like "D: We're wanted dead and you're empty on the inside. Oh no." xD And then they were on SWINGS. The swings were definitely the dorkiest part.

But yeah. I ship it for the mere...interesting of making it work? xD I can see so many interesting possibilities, and I don't think it's so bad if done right. XD IF THAT MAKES SENSE. I ship for the fun, not for the...canon-bility. ;D

It's not one of those that I'd be like "Oh yeah, this makes sense" if it randomly went canon.
