Rikaru Wurd X3 Harhar Wolffy, I don't use myself as a template... maybe subconsciously I do, cause I see myself in the mirror everyday. D: Maybe subconciously, besides it's only an assumption. I mean, you think you know yourself, so it would be the easiest subject. And in a small way everyone is self interested, if but a little. So I think, conciously or subconsiously a lot of artists use themselves as a template. Or they try to avoid it entirely. But it's just a theory. @Urbane: It's really hard to draw a self portait for some reason.

Wolffy000 I think a lot of artists use themselves as a template, at least sometimes. I do anyway.
I mean, I do use myself as a model for like, poses and stuff,
but not face-wise.

Xanilus Rikaru [swoons as well] gonk Y'know what I think is funny? Most artists seem to resemble what they draw. Haven't seen enough of your art to know biggrin But from what I've seen, people who have long legs will naturally proportion their character's legs longer, etc. People with amazing eyes somehow fill their drawing's eyes with a fascinating quality, and not even realize it. Sometimes it's a just a part of their "style" after their artistic abilities have evolved, but you know what I mean. X3 Edit: Just so I'm on topic as to not piss anyone off, have a picture representing the epitome of Rikaru's personality.

It took me a few years to realize I actually was pretty, after I started getting the comments... Too used to being teased for being ugly in middle school, I guess. In a way it's good because even though I do realize I'm attractive now, I sort of bypassed the whole "I am gorgeous and you will bow to my every whim" people get when they're treated like that they're whole life. Pyre says "WTF?"  I know it looks like I'm winking, but that's only because it's a still photo and you can't see the twitchiness. ._.

I don't like complaining in public cause I know when really pretty people complain about their ugliness to me, I get frustrated cause I'm already struggling enough to accept my own appearance. It's like, "Yeah, you people ARE ugly as sin, happy now?" Then I get really upset and start crying and not eat the next day. confused
One person does have to privately put up with my inconfidence and subtle self destruction... It hurts both of us and I really want to stop feeling that way. [snuggles said person] neutral heart
Besides, if I don't publicly complain and act confident, maybe I'll actually become confident... at least that is the plan/hope biggrin

Whether there is any truth or not, I still cannot believe it. Not from simply not wanting to, but from the fact that every time I have tried in the past, whoever said so ends up changing their mind, verbally assaulting me, and leaving me. Not to mention the fact that a few random comments cannot compete with a lifetime of ridicule and degredation. *shrug* Ah well. I am who I am.
