(( IMO, it sucks. lol j/k xd ))

" Dude, you think she'll take it off? " A teenage boy asked another quietly, both of which were peering at a scantily-clad woman who seemed to be seductively admiring herself in a mirror in an otherwise empty room. The other boy took the optic cable from his friend and gave a glance. Upon peering into it, he saw no one in the room. " Man, where'd she go? " They switched again and the other looked, also to see no one. A voice came from above quietly. " What are we whispering about? " The boys looked up to see Angel leaning over where they were sitting down leaing against the door and immediately got up and ran away. " If it's not people trying to attack me, it's peeping toms. " she said, irritated.

The Hatch opened for the second time today and for the second time Ellis found herself treding on museum property. This time it wasnt by choice.
She felt the blaster at her back as the Human leader of the thieves urged her on.

"Hurry up Sweet heart. Point me to the Nav Computer. Unless you don't like living that is."

"Make it snappy." A Dosh thug muttered towards the back. "This place is creeping me out.

The Trandoshan was right about that. The Ship seemed more ominous than before, the shadows darker and more foreboding. Perhaps it was due to the hour of night. Last time she was here, it was practically noon.
Then She heard it: Somewhere towards the back of the ship someone's boots echoed off the ship's floor gratting. Slow, dragging steps that gradually drew closer.

"Who's back there?" The leader asked his cohorts.

"We all came with you." A bothan replied nervously.

The Thug dug his blaster harder into Ellis' back. "Who's back there? Better fess up sweet heart or I'll put a blaster bolt through you."

Ellis gave him a frightened look and shook her head. "The Ship was sealed since noon! no one else could be in here I swear!"

A mornful voice cut the conversation off, matching rythym with the staggered steps of the slowly aproaching boots, an eerie and faint sound that grew ever louder as it sang a song of a bygone age.

"I'm a brave young privateer
My sword is swift I have no fear
Towards fame and fortune I will steer
And the devil knows my name...
"

One of the thieves suddenly freaked out and fired half a dozen blaster bolts down the corridor.

The boots and the voice vanished in an instant.

For a moment all was quiet.

Then something flashed in the darkness and the man fell backward with a death shriek.

The assembled sentinents stared in horror at the old rusted vibrocutlass that was burried in his chest.

The voice, more ragged and angry now sounded out its song again and the boots in the darkness stomped against the deck plating.

"A crew thats young a crew thats bold
we'll use their gold to fill our hold.
our roger makes their blood run cold
and the Devil knows our name..."

"Its Darksun's ghost!" the Dosh screamed "Come to drag our souls into the Maw to crew his ship of the Dead!"

With any spine the thugs had possessed having ejected the second they entered the feared pirate's ship, they hastily fled towards the exit and locked the door behind them, leaving Ellis and the cooling corpse of the thief to face whatever otherworldly horror was coming up the corridor.

Dim lighting flashed on bleached white bone and tattered clothing as the thing drew near, red unholy eyes piercing the darkness.

"And the Devil knows our name!
but he fears us just the same!
through ladies' lips and pirate ships across the stars and 'lanes,
Through out the pouring rain, on a ship that has no name
we'll drink and will kill and we'll fight and we'll steal for fortune and for fame
We'll cross the hyperlanes, and burn them down in flames
We'll loot and we'll plunder through the lighting and thunder...."

The thing stood in the glow of the exit light near the hatch, a humanoid skeleton garbed in a tattered spacesuit. It gripped a rusty vibrocutlass in one hand and a heavy blaster pistol in the other. Its sinister head smiled a skeletal grin as it's piercing eyes bore into Ellis.

"And the Devil knows our name..." The thing finished as it levered it's pistol at the terrified woman.

A sudden ringing of metal on metal sounded and the thing suddenly fell apart into pieces.

Standing behind the now sparking pile of P1 Pirate droid parts stood Link, sword drawn with a grim expression on his face.
"Are you alright Milady Ellis?" he asked.

The poor woman just fainted away.

"Looks like an Old Republic era Acclamator-class Star Carrier. Preceeded the Star Destroyer line. Pittiful actually." Vaan said.
Elladan smiled, expecting the answer. He was about to get a rude awakening. "Well, then according to your calculations, you should find that the ship's shields are out-of-date enough to the point your lasers would go almost right through it. Go ahead and take your best shot at it." What Vaan didn't know was despite it's looks, this was a brand new ship, made from modern technology and the schematics left in the journal of Mitth'raw'nurudo. It was likely almost as strong as the Chiss Star Destroyer that would fire upon her, in every way save engine power and starfighter room.

Ellis gradually felt aware of someone pressing their fingers against her forehead. Slwoly she opened her eyes and saw Link kneeling over her her, eyes closed and brow furrowed as he pressed his fingers agains her forehead.

"What the hell are you doing?" She asked.
Startled, Link drew his had back. "Wow...it worked..." He muttered to himself.

"What worked?"
"Nothing, nothing." He assured her as he offered the woman a hand.

Taking it she happened to glance over at the thief corpse and shrieked in fright, hastily backing away from the cadaver.

"Frightened of that?" Link said with some amusement. "Mr. thief is harming no one any more. Envious of that throw this one is."

"Wha-what happened?"

"Hm? Oh, this." Link said picking up the head of the P1 droid with a gloved hand. "My anscestor possesed some unusual toys and a rather macabe sense of humor, yes?"

"Arr ye gaver-livered bilge vrelt!" The head barked at Link angrily in a screechy voice. "Ye cheatin' barve I be havin my way wit' ya when someone gets me put back ta-gether! Nobody stabs Black Jack in the back an' gets away wit it! I'll make ye walk the lock and send ya ta every hell there ever was ye-" With a flick of a switch the head powered down and became dormant.

Having overcome her fright, Ellis looked at the droid with dawning familiarity. "Thats a P1 Droid, a modified battle droid Darksun used as both shock borders and psychological weapons."

"Ah. This explains why it was found in this ship."

"That damn thing almost scared me to death!"

"Beg your pardon, but such was the intent for activating it." Link said placing the head back.

"You activated it?!" Ellis said, somewhat aghast.

"To protect this ship yes. An Excellent job he did for an antique. Quite impressive. Somewhat brutal though. Seems he took offense to being shot at, that he did. Had this one not stopped him, shared the thief's fate you would."

He looked to her with a cheerful smile and offered a hand again. "Go we should. It is doubtful the thieves will return to face a ghost of a vengeful pirate and the longer we linger, the more likely the authorities will find us in a comproising situation. Walk you home I will, for it is the least this one can do for getting Milady Ellis in so much trouble."

She took the hand and pulled herself up, shaking her head. "You really do have an odd way of speaking."

"Nice it is not, to make fun of a speach impediment."

So this creature was what was called a human. They didn’t look like much to Revak, a basic erect biped without any clear or unique features for a mammalian species, except for their near baldness. The man turned out to be a ship captain for one of the freighters docked at the customs depot, a ship called ITS-1183 Honored Wanderer. Revak wondered what the ITS-1183 meant, and filed it away into his memory.

Apparently the problem with this fellow’s ship was simple enough; a micrometeorite had chewed through one of the ion lines for his ship’s starboard engine. Without getting it fixed he’d be unable to break orbit without jettisoning the four large brick shaped containers that were fastened to the ship’s side. Apparently he’d just delivered four gas modules filled with a rare hydrogen isotope and had been picking up his cargo for the return trip when the vessel had been struck.

The man said his name was Lieutenant Kord Turen, though the universal axiom of captain would also be proper. Revak filed this into his memory as well as he studied the ship from the outside. It was nothing more then a flying engine unit with four cargo attachment points, the captain called a Bulk Freighter.

“Simple design, crude but effective,” Revak said quietly as he saw the ship. He nodded to the captain, “So could you show me where that damaged ion line is?”

“Sure, follow me,” The captain answered gesturing up the ramp and into the ship’s only crew compartments. Then he led them down a corridor into the engine compartment where one of the ship’s wall panels lay on the steel floor exposing a shattered metal line surrounded by ionic corrosion.

Revak smiled slightly to himself, “This won’t take long.”

“Did you bring your own tools, I’ve got a hydrospanner and some other stuff up in the crew compartment,” The captain answered.

Calra answered for him, “I doubt that will be necessary.”

Revak was already leaning against the pipe reaching out with the force separating the ionic bonds of corrosion and sensing the inherent structure of the pipe. A ghostly golden glow appeared on the piping as it writhed and stretched sealing the hole. Slowly Revak’s senses went deeper analyzing and manipulating the individual molecules of the pipe, strengthening the molecular bonds making the pipe stronger and more resilient then it had been when new.

The captain just stood there, his mouth open as he watched. Finished Revak stood and smiled, “Finished, you might want to test the engine now, I suspect you’ll want to re-configure the engine system.”

“Uh, I’ll go start a test…” The captain hurried forward clearly a little bewildered by what he’d just seen. Revak smiled, it was just a pipe after all, not nearly as complex as a crystal to a lightsword or the circuitry of a plasma carbine.

"I am Chiss, if you would recall. I would never make a preemptive strike. I don't know about you." Vaan countered, an insult that surely must have stung.

"So you were hiding in that ship all day?" Ellis asked Link as the two walked down the brightly lit streets of Coronat.

"Correct. The thieves were bound to strike at some point and there was little doubt that they would be sufficient enough in number and armament to defeat any museum guard. It was only a matter of waiting for them and suprising them."

"With a sword?" She asked skepticaly

"Also Correct. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster, with the bonus of being silent, thus allowing for complete stealth against foes in such a situation as before."

She blinked. "Thats sounds like something a jedi would say, minus the stealth part of course."

"Of Course." Link agreed. "This one likes to think himself a tad more practical than the Order."

They came to a subway station and Ellis turned to Link.
"This Subway stops near my flat, so I think I can manage from here."

Link nodded."Very good then. This one must be off to aquire transport to his anscestor's home."

"Wait! Let me come with! I could get backing from the museum to organize an Archaeological expedition!" she said.

"Sorry. No. This one must see what the Ancestor left behind before he allows others to set foot there."

"But its a historical goldmine!"

"All the more reason to defend this one's claim." Link said.

Suddenly Ellis threw Link a Corellian smile. "Please?"

Link sighed and put his hand to his face. "You all can do that, can't you?"

"What?"

"Nothing. But I shall give you a bit of advise Milady Ellis," Link passed his hand past her face. "You should go home, get a good rest, and forget that we ever met."

Ellis didnt blink and repeated Link's words. "I should go home, get a good rest, and forget that we ever met."

Link glanced at a nearby Chronometer on the side of a building. "Oh my, look at the time! You best hurry before you miss the train!"

Ellis' eyes widened. "Nama'kul! You're right!" She bolted down the stairs to the subway, leaving a smiling Link behind her.

"Thats that. Now to seek passage offworld." He said calmly as he turned in the direction of the spaceport.

---

Ellis was walking up the steps of her apartment complex when she had a sudden dawning realization.
"Hey, wait a minute!"

It turned out that Revak’s ‘maintenance’ had increased the thrust output of the engine by some ten percent, which would have been sufficient to have thrown the ship port-ward in flight without recalibration which took about five minutes.

Revak shrugged off the captain’s compliments before asking for the item he wanted to trade, “Well friend, you see my nav-computer was fried on the way here and even though I fixed it the data was all a lost, could you give me your hyperspace jump charts as trade.”

The captain frowned slightly, “Well… that data is property of the Imperial government, and I’m not supposed to give it to anyone.” Glacing back at the displays he sighed, “I’ll give you a copy of my backup hyperspace data set; it should have everything you need as well as some notes on some of the more prominent systems I’ve gone.”

“That would be fine captain, thank you.” Revak answered as he took the data-card from the captain, “I’ll be off then captain.”

“Thank you again Valar, I’d not want my cargo spoiling because of some chiss mechanic.”

Revak and Calra strolled out of the hanger and onto the concourse as Revak’s mind began to analyze the card, figuring its workings so he could adapt his computer to its needs. It took them just a few minutes to get back to their ships and discover just what the chiss had been busy with.

A snarl flashed across Calra’s face when she saw their fighters and the empty hard-points that had once held two plasma bombs, “Damn Chiss!”

Revak quickened his pace, and dumped the table which had held their personal effects and discovered that the Chiss had taken more then the Plasma bombs: One Lightsword and a Plasma Pistol were gone. His spine shivered as he glared down at the scattered equipment… Damn them.

Calra grabbed the Plasma Carbine from the pile and checked it as Revak pocketed the remaining Plasma Pistol. He tossed the remaining Lightsword to Calra. Revak hissed to himself, “Let’s get out of here before the Chiss know we’re leaving.”

“Right!” Calra answered as she grabbed a helmet and armored bodysuit and began to pull them on in a rush. Revak followed suit pulling the helmet over his head and sealing it against his suit.

Within moments they were back inside their starfighters beginning preflight checks and hoping the Chiss didn’t leave any more surprises.

"It's not a preemptive strike. It's not even a threat. I'm asking you to test this," he replied unphased. "I have no intention of exchanging fire, for I'm sure you'd probably kill me and everyone here if you wanted. I'm merely asking a favor..." He couldn't decide how more politely he could say it. "If your worry about ethnics, then don't. You would do both the Chiss and the Empire a service by testing out my new... technology. Anything that happens as a result, you would not be blamed for..."

"Like, totally good call!" Freya said.

"Wookie recruits, Gorwooken?" Gunther queried with interest.

"So, you've been to Kashyyyk, then?" Kalnar chimed in.

"Yah," Freya said.

"So, you've formed an alliance with the wookies, then," Kalnar mused.

"Well, like, not exactly," Freya sheepishly said, explaining their adventure in Kashyyyk. During that time, Rusty concluded his recharge cycle, and joined in.

"And, that's how things concluded on Kashyyyk, Master Kalnar," Rusty said at the end.

"I see," said the Jedi Master.

"Even with but a small force, they are sufficient for the time being," Gunther said. "And Master," he said, struggling with the name of the wookie chief, "Itiichituk excersized prudence in this situation,"

((still didn't answer the question))

"I will not open fire on your vessel," Vaan stated seriously. "Obviously you're shields are much stronger than they should be, seeing that you are asking for this, but I can assure you that the Empire is not interested in your technology."

Or was it? Vaan didn't know at this point. A few hours earlier, his crew had recieved transmission that Emperor Fel was dead and that Darth Krayt had assumed his position as Emperor.

The two Chiss technicians had already shipped the personal weapons they’d taken form the two Rapora down planetside for analysis along with the custom official’s report on them. The two plasma bombs however were deemed too dangerous to be brought planet side, they were moved to the station’s demolition and disposal unit’s laboratory where they were placed behind shields and were remotely being examined by the experts, and already a detailed scan had revealed the device’s most disturbing parts.

Each bomb’s shell was completely solid with only two small points of entry into the device itself, a pair of what looked almost like buttons, or contact detonators, one on the nose and one on the rear housing. A weave of microscope emission points had been detected by scanners all around the frontal surfaces of the device. The two ‘buttons’ only appeared to be buttons, the rear one wouldn’t depress and the front one failed to do anything when depressed. Further scans revealed an electrically conductive rod down the center of the aft ‘button’ and a single small explosive charge behind the front ‘button’. Within the cylinder the sensors detected a large concentration of plasma kept at extreme pressure as well as a residual anti-matter wave emission from the center of the weapon. Nothing more could be gleaned from the sensors, and the technicians were puzzled by the design, they’d never seen a weapon system similar to this one, and while at one level imperial torpedoes resembled the device they’re design held much less plasma and barium explosives.

One of the Technicians frowned at the two bombs, “So… perhaps we could try and send some electrical pulses into the rear mount.”

Inside the shielded isolation chamber a droid moved to attach a wire to the aft of the bomb. The second technician turned to his companion, “What if we detonate it?”

“That’s why we’re behind starship level shielding,” His compatriot replied just as the first electrical pulse chorused into bomb. Suddenly a brilliant gold aura appeared around it severing the wire. The table the bomb set on began to melt like ice in a steam jet. The shields flashed as plasma particles bombarded the system. Alarms keyed all around the technicians as the shields registered interference from the plasma and began to fill with tiny holes.

Then the bomb fell from the molten table and slammed nose first into the superheated floor. The detonator plunged and the charge went off, vaporizing the case as the matter polarization rod activated converting ninety kilograms of hydrogen plasma into antimatter.

* * *

With a flash the Chiss Custom’s station detonated behind the two rapidly fleeing Raporan starfighters. Revak grimaced as the subspace shock wave buffeted his fighter. Damn them… Damn stupid chiss! He glanced at his aft displays and the swarm of Chiss Fighters launching into space. From their perspective the Chiss could call it terrorism, two strange ships run from a station and it explodes. This would certainly close the door to this region of the Galaxy to the Rapora.

Revak tapped his nav-computer as he inserted the data-card into the hastily forged port he’d made into the computer console, immediately a list of worlds appeared before him, thousands of worlds. One world’s description caught his eye, Ord Mantell: a world which held major trading hub and a variety of resources, a junkyard, and only a short hyperspace jump, or so it claimed.

Fascinated Revak typed in the coordinates into his nav-computer and relayed them to Calra. This Empire would hopefully be more hospitable then these Chiss slime.

Four days later aboard an Ord Mantell bound Freighter the crew was just killing time playing Sabacc in the Galley.
"Alright boys", The Duros Captain said. "Read 'em and weep. Sabacc."
The spacers muttered angrily and slapped their cards on the table as they saw their money vanish.
Then a Zabrak crewer hustled through the galley door. "Captain! We got a problem!
"What?" He asked.
"Y'know that guy who we hired on Corellia? that Human with the sword?"
"What about him?"
"He just ejected in one of the lifeboats!"
The captain stood and looked at his Chrono. "We're 15 hours from Ord Mantell! what the hell could he be thinking?!"

A streak crossed the sky of the forest moon of a jungle world and crashed with a resounding impact into a thick copse of trees, leveling the lot of them.
for several moments, the charred black object remained imobile, steam hissing off its surface into the air.
Then a hatch ejected with a bang from the blackened lifeboat and crashed to the ground with a clang.
Link pulled himself out of the pod and tumbled to the charred ground.
He pulled himself to his feet and staggered about, quite disoriented from the trip.
"Next time, methinks one should just rent a ship...." he muttered as he tried to clear his head.
Shaking off the dizzyness, the jedi dove into the foliage and began making his way in the direction he believed Skull Base to lie.
