Manikins were a renewable resource, if demons used them correctly. Unfortunately, the massacre continued to follow them throughout this town, leaving bodies in it's wake as if the murderer had no knowledge of the true value of their kind. It was clearly a demon with a beastial taste for flesh, that had long since forgotten it's keen senses and now relied only on it's feral nature to keep it safe in the wild world of demons. But that was specifically what made it so weak and vulnerable, and when he found it, he would return the favor for the sake of the manikins...if nothing else, so that no bad karma remained on these talismans he was collecting. They might end up being of use after all, and he wouldn't want some bad joo-joo stopping him from using them in some useful fashion when the time came.

Bel survives.

A single demon remained to face Bel, a sacrificial lamb for him to savor as his demons finished up their round of sweeps of the city streets, banishing demons left and right with tremendous force. But this one, alone, was left for him to test his spells on, and though he was familiar with a great deal the App that the humans had given him proved far more versatile than many devices he was use to. If he could learn its ins and outs, then soon he would be capable of adapting his style of fighting on the fly, and that would allow him quicker reactions against changing, deadly circumstances on the battlefield. This demon was thus a sacrifice towards that change, and though he didn't take pleasure in toying with something that had no chance, it was nevertheless part of the process to discover new power. He only hoped he hadn't fallen into that same depravity his...that someone else once had. Those were steps he didn't want to trace...even if it meant finishing himself, before that happened.

Here came another brazen charge from the front, attempting to use the one unwrecked street out of the beachside community to assault it now that they knew there was a threat within it's borders. The demon's plans were simple minded, and easy to see through, but it didn't mean he could just ignore them. There were still plenty of humans in Iwadate who didn't know what was going on, or that they were under assault from the outside, so they might be abandoned by the supposed protectors of the city in the cult that dominated the area...meaning he was the lone defender, the watchful guardian, and their own personal dark knight. It had a nifty ring to it, but it wasn't as glamorous as it sounded...after all, cleaning up trash like this was just part of the job he'd have to get use to. No fightin' it, sometimes you just had to fight to be fightin'.

Being betrayed by the Nihilo he was protecting at the eleventh hour? Totally normal for Bel, it seemed, as the residents of Iwadate came rushing up to attack him despite the warnings...multiple at this point...he'd given them about the danger they were placing themselves in by choosing to fight him at this time. What was worse, was they were coming now while the city was actively under attack, and if Bel's demons hadn't been busy enough dealing with he greater numbers that were rushing them, then they certainly felt a bit of pressure now with enemies at their back as well gushing in. Luckily, Bel could handle either side, and choose to deal with the Nihilo for the time being. As a favor to his demons, who'd been working hard...and, y'know, to kick some Nihilo guys in the balls again.

The last wave, or so he hoped, was now scrambling to gather itself for a last resort assault on Iwdate. It was the end of things...well, maybe not all things, but it would put enough dents in them to pause the reckoning they were trying to bring on the Nihilo for the time being. He didn't particularly care for the organization, but there were innocents being held inside their compound in order to dissuade attackers, and that was something that Bel wouldn't overlook, and that the demons attacking wouldn't begin to care about. To them, any human was a target, and he didn't want to watch those who didn't deserve such karma suffer a worse fate due to the grimey hands of Nihilo...such ignorance wasn't going to be allowed. He would see to it that they were punished. It would happen.

And that was the last demon! Phew, talk about an exhausting throwdown, if for the sheer amount of heavy lifting he was doing. He could go for a nice relaxing time, spent with a lady or two, but something told him that he wouldn't have time to spare for something like that, not with the increasing aggression of both sides of the conflict and their end games. They sought to finish things by the end of the night, or at least decide which way the wind would start blowing. And if that was allowed to happen, then humanity would lose a critical chance to counter, and change the course of history with their actions. He had to intervene before that happened, so there was no time for lazy resting...as much as he wanted it or not, he had to spend today being serious. Otherwise, things would only get worse...in an irreversible fashion.
