"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Explosions rocked the streets beyond the warehouse, and Mo-Po could only see the dust and the occasional flare of light and fire in the distance through his lens...no sign of the source of the chaos save for a single, turnip-like crown looming over and through the cloud of dirt and grime in the air of the streets like an impenetrable fog. Down by the door a man, grim and serious, waited...and a girl with a laptop ticked away trying to discover some new information that she could use for their mission...something that would help...but what remained in the balance was perhaps the lynchpin of what kept them together here in this place, kept them safe from the demons. Hisoka's hand rested on the handle and their sniper remained the scout, looking down into the clouds and seeing nothing...nothing except a shadow, rushing shadow...!
"Open the door!" he called out and Hisoka jerked it open, a large frame passing through the door with a mist of dust before it closed sharply behind him, everyone ducking down and out of sight as the looming figure of creamy-death passed them by...and did not stop, though it had been inches away from its quarry, "Kakyo...Kakyo are you all right.?"
...A mask pulled away from the man in the black long coat's lips, shaded eyes were hard as he glanced back at the door...

And he comes strolling into their base as though he owned the place, taking a spot against the wall to lean lazily and fiddle around on his phone as though he were trying to find a game to play. "Man, kind of crazy how you manage to keep all of this together in spite of what's going on out there. I've got to say, I'm liking your style more and more. Shame I'm already locked into Team Dai-chan...I wouldn't mind joining up with you guys."

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Joe left, and once again the Vultures were left behind to fend for themselves and consider their next move. The Boss was leaning against the door as his wife busied herself in the back of the warehouse reading and searching for another magazine that she had stored in there somewhere. His sniper was on lookout and his training guru was beating the Hell out of the heavy bag to continue sharpening his skills, and Rina was...mirroring her boss's pose against the other side of the door for her own amusement. And beyond the door was his devil, cutting away at the demons that swarmed in the streets...Zaou-Gongen, remaining the symbol of destruction and skill that it was, carved up an enemy and then whipped the blood from the tip.
Inside, things were still peaceful, however...and the Boss considered more deeply what to do next. Terminal...Trumpeter...Benetnasch...the pieces were all in place. But how? How could he put them together so that it worked?!

Kaori Sakurazaka, the Wild Cherry Blossom of the Human Weapons Unit  Kaori shifted her gaze back to her companion who was still meditating, turning once again to her surroundings. Things were unusually quiet, and despite the respite, she felt tense. Streets were quiet, there was no sign of the Septentrione. If anything... it would be a good time to come up with ideas to appeal to Trumpeter. She had seen Kei and Kakyo both trying... both using different approaches...the result always the same. The demon wasn't about to help them. It was obvious. They just needed to convince it to do otherwise. How? That was the question. If anything... she knew acting out a play wouldn't work. Then again... very ridiculous requests were asked of them in days before. Dancing... and doing more unsavory things were among them. Things you wouldn't expect would work in supernatural beings.
So... did they need to think outside the box?

Because my time is short, I'll kill you..."He had made the decision to call out the Trumpeter one last time before he considered leaving the city to find someone else to challenge in order to gain new members...killing the Septentrione was more important, however, and so he and Kaori were before the terminal kiosk, his phone open as he called out to the skeletal musician within. It sounded its tune over the sky above them, but it did not say anything once it was out and hovering. Kei considered what to say to the Trumpeter and paused, glancing back at Kaori...
"Trumpeter, I wish to ask you to help us," he began, "If the world is erased, it will not be only our existence that ends...but your own. Do you not wish to defend your own existence?" He wondered if the logic, sound as it was, would get through to the devil. A moment of silence passed...and then another...before the Trumpeter at last turned to him and looked down with his empty eye-holes.

...He wondered why that wasn't a viable option to kill the Septentrione. From a distance it wouldn't be dismissed, and Pasupata had already proven capable of hitting a target from half the country away. And surely Benetnasch wasn't that strong that it could resist the fiery wrath of the God of Destruction, right? ...No, it was probably just that resistant, and that was why Hotsuin hadn't considered it already. If it would have worked he would have used it already. But at least the demons who got too close to the warehouse got to bite it at the hands of his powerful allied demon. That was satisfying, but not nearly enough. ******** Benetnasch.

Back to the warehouse, that was the safest bet...there was on way the devils were gone, just NO WAY they were gone, and he was NOT going to be taken unaware at this point! ...What? No he wasn't just paranoid! Don't be ridiculous! He had a wife to get back to! And he had fought this thing enough times to know when his spider sense was tingling.

His breath escaped in a tired sigh as yet another excursion proved to be fruitless to the Terminal. He had tried literally everything short of beating Trumpeter within an inch of its demonic life, but he had a feeling that if he killed the thing it wasn't going to play for them. Just a hunch. Seemed logic dictated as much, at least. In the meantime, Kakyo moved to the back of the warehouse and ran a finger through his hair to slip his Crow's Feather back behind his ear. Glancing around at the members of his team he wondered what he would have to do in order to keep them safe if they never found out how to beat Benetnasch...the world was being swallowed by some kind of a Void...could they escape it? Was anywhere safe? He was desperate...they needed him.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips as the violet haired girl controlled herself from actually jumping on the demon and beating it to a pulp. Using logic on it hadn't work either. What else could they do? What did it want? "Maybe if we-" Her instincts were alert in an instant, her voice stopping abruptly as a presence neared them. "Hide!" the girl hissed between her teeth, before doing that herself.

Benetnasch was wreaking havoc upon all the country...his own city in particular...and all that he could do in response was defeat the demons that appeared before him to keep the streets clear until the Big Benny b*****d came by to wreck things all over again. It was beyond aggravating...that feeling that reminded him of that time not so very long ago when he had been completely powerless...powerless to protect his friends from death, from torture, from destruction...
...It felt like it was all happening again. Only this time he had something far more precious to protect. He needed to keep his wife safe...he needed to keep his Vultures safe. And that big Turnip was going to have to beat the very life out of him this time before it could keep him from doing just that.
