Things fade to white after the boss falls. He wonders if this is the end. It's been a long fight, surely a brief rest is alright...? Davey, a voice calls. It sounds familiar. It isn't Azrael, though, missing the 'echo' of the other presence not natural to his mind. He frowns. He doesn't remember telling anyone in here his name. At attention, soldier. The voice is sharper this time. You've still got work to do. Time to go and fight the good fight.'Ooh rah,' is the automatic reply to his unit's unofficial motto. When was the last time he'd heard that? Ben? Oh, the fake-memory-Ben, at the lake. The voice isn't Ben's. It's much less forgiving. Davey expects a lot from others, but even more from himself. He can feel a wave of amused scorn for taking so long to figure it out. There's an echo to that sentiment, Azrael's presence faded as if hidden behind the cloud of peace fogging up his mind. He wonders how long Azrael was trying to snap him out of it, too, before Davey's own self had to take over. There's a feeling of his two selves merging. He opens his eyes to find the boss' lair empty of anything other than his companions. And some loot, of course. Loot Another roll a loot card. +

There were visions of field trips, eyescream, the snow, hands held even if it was only because of an illusion, her mother's smile, her sisters laughing and giggling, the sound of jingling bells. All flashing in her mind with the faintest of whispers in her ear, the voice so familiar as it told her of other things. Other things she loved and names. So many names with faces to go along with. There didn't need to be so many words.
OuO felt a hand tug at her own, pulling her from the darkness that had crept all around them as they fought in this dungeon of large strange beasties with familiar crowns. It urged her along with a soft 'almost there!' and that same smile she herself wore everyday.

It was dead? It was really really dead? He blinked stunned and confused… he'd been…useless for this last battle. Useless, but still it was dead and that was something more than enough to celebrate. generic loot card -- The site of himself dancing and twisting on puppet strings, an instrument to some will quite unknown to himself was unsettling, so unsettling that he was in all honestly rather useless for the battle. He couldn't help but just… stare. There was just so much, just so much that he had seen, the coffins, the screams, the doubt… He just needed a moment, a moment to grasp some hold on his ability to move forward… to fight.
