Running onwards, jumping over trees and dodging behind boulders, Skele_Woofie put all his thoughts, all his efforts to escaping. But he stumbled, and the Jabberwok caught up. Rolling underneath, he knew he wouldn't escape. So he reached into his pocket and grabbed the Second Chance Timer, turning the nob and hoping it worked. He gasped as time slid slightly back and he was running once more, but this tie he dodged around the root that'd tripped him. Onmanohmanohman..... I almost died! The steaming breath of the Jabberwocky brushed her skin, searing her. It stung, but it wasn't the worst. She kept running, giving it everything she had. Was it possible? Was she pulling ahead? As she rounded a bend in the path, it seemed to have disappeared, but she knew better. It was still there, still lurking. The ground shook with heavy foot falls.
Again, a voice calls to her. Her mother's voice. "Sweetheart, come here. I've got something new for you. It will keep you safe. She sounded so worried, so sincere. [BatGirl] hesitated, the part of her that was still so young longed to run, find her mother's arms. But the Jabberwocky also lay that way. This was a strange place with strange tricks.

It almost caught him again, but this time Skele_Woofie was standing on a hill top and threw himself down the slope, rolling down instead of running. He growled as the thick cloak he had on didn't quite protect him from the roots and rocks... but it was worth it! Now he had a bigger lead and he would make it! No, she wouldn't be fooled. Besides, she couldn't remember the last time her mother had sounded so warm. Onwards, she pressed. Running. Always running. Her blonde hair whipped around her and her scarf became loose. She grabbed it in her hands to keep from losing it, but kept running.
Then came the fork in the path. Her bright eyes darted back and forth as she quickly replaced her scarf around her neck, figuring the extra coverage couldn't hurt her. As the footsteps drew nearer, she bolted to the left, just as the Jabberwocky came into sight again. "No, no, no." She cried as she took off at top speed again, with beast in pursuit.

It was angry. Oh gosh was it angry! It snarled and gnashed its teeth at whatever it could reach. Great swipes of it's claws were smashing trees to pieces sending debris everywhere. There was nowhere to hide from it's rage as it continued to gain on her. She tried to find the strength to run faster, but she was exhausted.

She was just minding her own business when the thumps began. Smoke rising, the sharp crack of wood splintered, their wails a spooky sound that made her shiver. "It's coming, it's coming!" And she, in her slow reactions, turned in time to catch a glimpse.
Everything was silent, but her heart beat loudly enough to be a drum throughout the forest.
Snap.
She shrieked and scrambled away as the jaws bit down, nearly tearing her clothes in the process. She could hear her pocket card blinking: 10 HP. Crapcrapcrap.
Snap.
7 HP, the pocket card amended.

A flying tree branch crashed into her back, causing her to stumble to the ground for a moment, but she was quick to get to her feet and be off running again. She felt like maybe, just maybe, safety was around the bend. All she had to do was keep running.

She ran for she didn't know how long, swearing the Jabberwock was close behind--and yet when she turned there was nothing. Footsteps could be heard, though, enough to drive Q forward on fear alone. Could you die in this place? She really didn't want to find out.
But then she heard something else behind her instead. Voices. Their voices.
"Sōnē kā samaya, bādala." Mom's voice, soothing and gentle. Time for bed.
"Let's have some dessert, hmm?" Dad's voice, consoling a teary little scareling.
Q's shoulders tensed as she kept forward, driving the voices from her head as they pursued.

She was right. The trees were thinning and the Jabberwocky was falling behind. She could still hear it's rampage, but it seemed to be heading in a different direction now. Around her, the trees trembled, giving off a shudder. Taking a few more long strides, [BatGirl] collapses in a patch of colorful grass, laying back and trying to regain some of her energy.
Maybe this was not the brightest idea, to have come into this place. It was full of mischievous trees, and snapping beasts. What would be next?

It was starting to get hard to breathe, damn all these layers. Stumbling, the caterpillar found herself as a crossroad and flicked her gazed between the choices quickly. To the right was a potion she felt she sorely needed. To the left, what looked like a little timer.
Stop time? Sounded a lot more useful. If she could find a niche to heal and defend herself, she'd make it through.
Heading to the right, Q snatched the item up and continued with renewed vigor.

It was back and worse than before. Q's pants almost turned into screams with how unfair this all was--not even a proper battle, just running. But she had to survive one way or another.
Q stretched her legs as far as they'd allow as she fled, wincing as the debris of torn trees rained down on her, and the snickersnack of a claw nearly yanked her back.

Just a little more . . . The jabberwock gave a hellish shriek as it slashed in its blind rage, and she heard others give a faint yelp as they fell. Q herself nearly tripped on several fallen branches, and she swore it was only her will to survive that kept her from ebing paralyzed and killed.
But only barely.
She didn't know when the forest had grown quiet again or when exactly she had lost the jabberwock. All the caterpillar knew was that at some point she simply collapsed to the ground and heaved grateful breaths of air. She'd peruse her rewards for this apparent quest later; right now, it was time to breathe.

EnteringShadow had waled around for awhile when she suddenly found herself in familiar places. "Hey, isn't this the forest were everything started?" Suddenly she heard someone screaming "It's coming, it's coming!" Weird creatures keep running away from the trees ahead and Shadow turns around and observe them disappear into the greenery. Then everything becomes silent. Thats not good, she thinks to herself. She slowly turns around. Something tall, dark, cold, shadowy, sinuous and malevolent has spotted her. Its large yellow eye stares her down and she decides to run, but not before the The Jabberwock manage to get a hit in.
