Altairas didn't understand his impulse to pat a stranger, but it happened. This one seemed full of positive energy and appeared to be hunting shards just like himself. Altairas watched as he bounded after another one and failed... He couldn't help but laugh at the other's misfortune.
"Not having much luck, are you?" Altairas took the opportunity to show off the single shard he acquired. His grip was tight, there was no way he was going to lose it after all he went through to catch it.
Altairas spotted another fragment in his peripheral. "Let me show you how it's done." He stalked towards the small shard, reaching towards it slowly...
It slipped away. Altairas withdrew his hand casually as if there was never a shard there to begin with and began searching for another one hoping the stranger would overlook his embarrassment.

Finding nothing before makes her kick a rock and then thankfully she finds another. Though now she has bruised toes. And that brought back a memory of some bruises she had had. It had something to do with a man.. But the memory quickly fades and she forgets about it as she looks for the next one.

"But that I did." he stuck his grey tongue out at her, holding the fragment against his chest.

As he continued, more fragments danced around him and this time he managed to grasp one in his hands.

He blinked a few times, the single word entering his mind for a brief second before it was gone. He shrugged it off; this was a strange place and that was all. Onwards he went.

She finally was able to walk around normally now that her foot stopped throbbing and then she stubs her foot on a fragment. But at least she found one. Then she found a memory of the man. The figure seemed important. He had a big smile on his face. And she smiled from the thought. Though once again the memory faded quite quickly.

This time she's more careful when she stands up. Her eyes were narrowed and locked onto the floor so that she may see what to step on. And luckily the first thing that she could find was a nice ole big ole fragment. And thus came by a big ole memory of some other sort of food. They weren't sweets.. and the scent was more savory than anything. They also seemed very very delicious.
