Subvy had many questions to ask. The first of all being: how was he going to ever catch these fragments? Was there a method he should be using? Perhaps I shall attempt, and thus learn through attempt, Subvy thought to himself, approaching a fragment cautiously before simply catching it and putting it away.

So... they could, in fact, be approached. "But is it safe to do so? I wonder... They seem harmless. In fact, I am certain that they will not hurt me."

Subvy tried being entirely silent. Unfortunately, in the eerie silence, he found that the fragments were extra sensitive to his movements. He wasn't able to snag a single one. At least he had that one shard, with him...

Sitting down, cross-legged, Subvy watched the fragments float around him, glowing with a grey aura. "I'll make you a deal," he started, in his low, soft voice. "How about a lullaby? I know it helps me feel sleepy, when I'm stuck," he said.
Was that a lie?
He didn't know if it was true, at any rate. He felt dishonest, and it hurt him to feel that way.
A fragment drifted down towards him. He held out a hand, and accepted it, smiling softly. "Hello there, I guess I am forgiven?"

Another fragment drifted down, and he smiled at it, too, not breaking song; wouldn't it be rude, to ruin the moment? "Shiver and sorrow, down to the bone, I thought I had lost you, that I was alone..."
Never alone, stars collide he heard, a voice whispering to him while he sang.
