---While the party sets up and find Ochiba in the library--

Kage was looking steadily at the ground, or so it would seem from her mask's direction. The doctor returned soon enough, flanked by a black winged tengum with vibrant blue eyes, her hair in a ponytail , and a poised dignified walk to her. Junichi knew her as the slave, or rather, Kage's combat instructor. "Here she is Ayumi, She won't let me take her mask."

"Alright, I will tend to her from here, Ein," Ayumi replied, She was of the few that could pronounce Ein's name without the former becoming angry. The doctor did as asked, and the winged tengu stood infront of Kage," I need to remove your mask, alright?" She shook her head at Ayumi, then half gestured to Junichi, "Kage, he is your partner he will eventually have to your face, that much I can assure you..."

She hesitated....but with a sigh she reached for her mask...

Junichi watched with renewed interest as the new guest arrived, ushered in by Ein. The woman was quite lovely, if somewhat late in her years, and was uncannily skilled with a blade. He hadn't indulged much in her, but nonetheless had heard rumors of her proficiency, even going so far to say she'd once been a member of the Elite. If she was meant to be Kage's instructor, then there was little doubt that the woman could indeed hold up to these accusations.

He couldn't help but lean forward in his chair, as the beautiful Tengu attempted to coerce Kage out of her disguise. It seemed to have worked, as Kage had began to fumble with the mask - upon closer inspection, Junichi spotted a little blood around the sides. His interest doubled. After the years of training with this faceless doll, he'd finally get to see what lay underneath....

The mask was set to the side. Inside , a young looking tengu continued to try and hide in the shadow of her hood. Her hair was black and in a bowl cut, though a small section has vibrant red. Her eyes were a vibrant shade of dark orange. Most prominent were the sets of scars her face possessed. One ran across her cheek bone, one from her chin down, yet another from the tip of her left eye to her nose in a diagonal. Most seemed like, in their time, were not treated properly, as there was visible scarring from stitching.

She sat there, silently as Ayumi cleaned the fresh scrapes, wiping the blood off her. "Better?" Ayumi smiled softly, though Kage averted eye contact.

Well well well! Not bad after all, Junichi thought to himself. A little roughed up, but there was something rather... intriguing about that. She carried her scars well, that's for sure. He couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her, though. It was obvious that, whatever wounds she had, hadn't been treated properly in their time. Shame, really.

"There, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" He grinned, hoping to use a bit of his charisma to make her feel better. He could only guess by her demeanor and their history together that she was uncomfortable with her appearance. "I don't know what you were so afraid of. Tch, Like I haven't seen people with scars before - hell, I expect to have a few of my own before my career is over! Hopefully they just make me look better~"

Kage is just sitting there as Ayumi cleans her scrapes. "She is quite sensitive about her scars. She was not in Anei's crib her entire life," Ayumi mentioned as continued to work," and any attempt at humor will be ignored, so you should stop trying be a funny man." Kage made a small face at the alcohol," You two should have not gotten so close to the elite and council. You were both careless and arrogant."

Junichi shrugged, "Alright, fine. Sorry for trying to lighten the mood!" He once more reclined in his chair, trying to blow off the comment and attack on his pride. He scoffed, "That was part of our mission, mom." He said the last part sarcastically, "We were tasked with keeping an eye on the council's sudden meeting. It wasn't a regular one, so it was worth investigating... 'sides, how were we supposed to know the old bat of a Tengu was armed, or hell, could even see that far?"

Ayumi threw him a glare at the word 'mom,' so mockingly thrown at her," If you had done your research as you should have, you would have learned that all of the members are in their full capacity.... to not be in full potential means immediate replacement. Know you not of the eldest child of the Kenkaku?"
Kage nodded a bit.

"The title of -san is reserved for the nobleman. Titles like -sama and -dono are worn only by the still powerful members of the Elite and Council. Should anyone wield the title, you should tremble just like pups who tremble at the mention of the Black Wolf." Ayumi knew well of the costumes of the Exiles. She knew the fear the great leader formed upon her followers, just as well as the respect and admiration," Remember. Most of those members have carried a sword longer than you have been alive. They have you in age, experience and equipment."
Kage once more nodded.

"You would never think Anei would be weak, if she had no weapon, right?" Ayumi turned to Junichi," you would never think the great Seijin Kazuko would be helpless without sword, would you?" She looked back to Kage,"Just as you were taught to be wary of those in the history books, you should be wary of every enemy."

Junichi couldn't argue. Ayumi was right, and he knew it. Worse still, he agreed. He and Kage had gotten very lucky today, coming out of it with what few injuries they had received. As it was, Kage would be out of commission for at least a short while until her arm healed enough to be functional again. He let out a deep, exasperated sigh.

"... Right. Sorry." He mumbled, his pride getting in the way of his apology. "Thanks... for helping to patch up Kage. You're the only one she listens to, ya'know. It's sort of annoying, but... It can't really be helped. So... thanks."

He stood from his chair and gave a mighty stretch, this way and that. "I need to report to Anei... she'll want to know what happened, and why her pet--er, protege is wounded. Also... she'll need to know that the Guard is likely to step up their defenses after this recent infiltration..."

"Anei should be in her office as per usual." Ayumi responds, continuing to Patch up Kage. "She may be in a meeting with a few of her men, given she has 'been preparing to storm into the village sooner or later." The tengu. tried to hide her pang of nostalgia at the idea of her home being stormed. It brought bitter thoughts.

--

In the main house, much more specifically, the main hall, Anei was sat on her throne. A elbow on her chair and her hand fisted held her cheek up, her leg's left ankle was rested on the knee of her right leg, and her other hand's fingers rapped impatiently as another tengu went on about his plans and intel. Nothing new really. Nothing she could use. Ein Stein stood next to her, having come to her to tell her of the small slip by her nephew and her protege. So as soon as Junichi came into the hall, she sat up and stood, waving off the tengu, who was then dragged out of her sight by some of her guards.

"Junichi, I have caught wind of the little incident, I am sure Kage is being taken proper care of by the slave?" Anei stood tucking her hands behind her back, tall, proud: intimidating. Her hair, tail, and ears were all a dark red, a match to the Kaninus' own. At her hips there was three swords, a katana, a sword with a red blade, and a more crude looking one with a rather strange hilt. Two, the katana and red blade were balanced on one hip, the other alone parallel to them. She did not wear her armor, the legendary black wolf armor was rested upon a pedestal to the side, along with the two gauntlets people would recognize as her hidden blades.

Junichi nodded and gave a slight wave. "Right, right. Auntie has big plans it seems," He said with a grim chuckle. "Take care of Kage, Crow." With that, he left.

---

The charismatic Tengu gave a sly nod to the poor man being dragged off, who knows to what fate his incompetence bestowed. "Indeed she is, dear Aunt," Juni began with open arms, displaying his own pride in full. It was best he could do to match the presence Anei carried. "That lovely woman o' yours has quiet the skill when it comes to treating wounds - I wonder, how many of your sentinels come back injured? Many I should imagine, her skill being so proficient."

Junichi stood before her throne. Despite his sneer and open disdain of his commander and teacher, the young assassin fell to one knee before Anei, bowing deeply. Tradition and customs were the lifeblood of the Outcast. "Kage is wounded, and may be out of commission for a short time, pending her recovery. I've suffered minor injury as well, but nothing of grave importance." He kept is gaze low, raising no higher than Anei's boots. "The Elite are well aware of my and my partner's repeated presence within the Village's walls. They will step up their security and patrols of guard, ... Likely sooner, given that we were discovered eavesdropping."

Juni finally looked up to Anei, grinning softly. "It's a shame we don't have a Yao archer of our own~ Such amazing marksmanship and skill, I wouldn't have believed it without seeing it for myself!" He remarked, trying to lessen the burden of his failure.

"Ms. Ein is a blessing to have around, Her skill at magic and healing is rivaled by none." Anei tucked her arms behind her back, smiling at her nephew," But charisma aside what news have you brought to me? did the mission go well?"

Her expression soured sligthly, turning to look up to her throne like chair, in deeo thought. "This is much of a hinderance, I believed now to be our best time to attack with Seijin dead, but even now, you manage to underestimate some of the most decorated and celebrated tengu warriors of all time?!" She turned around, "A mistake a ROOKIE would make was not expected from your or from Kage, assassins I myself have trained!"
PostPosted: Wed May 07, 2014 10:23 am

Junichi winced at her raised voice, but managed to keep an ounce of his cool. "Mistakes or not, the damage is long done, dear Aunt," He said with a measure of distaste for the woman. "Would our time not be better spent focusing our attention on the village, rather than each other?" His grin broadened. "Or perhaps you should have trained us better?"

The warrior stood, leveling his gaze with the old and wise Wolf. "What will we do now? The Elite will be expecting us, and we have very little advantage at this moment. We need influence... a bargaining chip." He opened his arms wide, "I propose to you a kidnapping. At the meeting, I saw two pups - the son and daughter of two clans joined." His smile turned grim. "We know the ins and outs of this mountain even better than the ones who protect it, and it would be such a shame of the pups were to get lost upon it... Hehehe~"

"Or perhaps I should have trained someone more apt for the job." Anei said down to him with equal distaste, but when turned and sat back down on her sit pondering on what he had said. She rapped her nails in the arm rest,"Mh, I remember those rumors. The children of the Rouki and Watiso clan, yes? Cute little puppies for leverage. Why do you not bring them to me? "

She crossed a leg over the other," Will you need help or can you actually need support to bring me a pair of pups?" She chuckled and grinned.
PostPosted: Fri May 09, 2014 9:21 am

Junichi scoffed, "Of course. Such a task is a waste of my talents, but for you, I will swallow the indignity!" With a practiced ease, the warrior drew his hood and took a final bow to his superior. "I will have them by tomorrow's eve, of that I assure you. Farewell, dear Aunt."

Their sparring match completed, Junichi turned and left to prepare for his next mission.

---

It was a short walk back to the Library. Having only been shown the way the night prior, even someone as forgetful as Lumine had little trouble remembering the path. The ex-Celestial marched along the backroads, avoiding the crowds and those who might raise question of her.

"So, do you think Ochiba will remember us?" Lumine said to Hanari, thinking out loud. "It's been... well, a while I guess. Long enough for Michiko to have kids! Maybe... maybe Ochiba will be too old to remember..." There was a little sadness in her voice, but Lumine kept her smile bright. "But, that's okay... that'd mean she didn't worry about things. I want her to be happy..." They were nearing the library, and anticipation fluttered in Lumine's heart...

"Who knows!" Hanari walked smiling best she could at that thought. 'I mean.... she was pretty old when we met her, and with how much passed? I cannot say. But, if she is working for Michiko, then she must still be... functional, right?" By now they were at the door of the library once more. Hanari looked to it and reached to open it. "Well, here we go..."

Now brightly lit, the library seem interminably large. Tall shelves decorated it, and the only thing lighting its inside was the natural rays of the sun. It was very quiet, save for a few shuffling feet. Unbeknownst to the two beings outside of samsara, there was more than a single bunny working in the library ....

Idle chatter could be heard from inside, this or that..
