No, really. Princess Eva must have been exceptionally lucky. He tried to focus on the game, hands moving rapidly (though he did jar his finger a few times while hitting the button), and working furiously at the joystick.
No one could have been more surprised than Yin when he made it to level 3.

On level 3 the figures on the screen seemed to move faster than before, and while Yin did not die immediately he did not make it more than halfway through the level. Still, he turned elatedly to Alexander when he lost, more than happy with the results. "I suppose that playing this again was a good decision after all."

Oh jack, they would be leaving so soon? His head swam a little dizzily, as his nerves began to set in. No no, you won't say anything if you decide not to...remember? It'll all be fine. He had to tell himself as he followed Yin over to the next game. "Sure, ya, we can leave after a few more games! That'll be fine." Was he talking too fast? Maybe just a little...
He stood just behind Yin and too the side, easily being able to see the screen and how well Yin was doing. He would have to remember to get his mom to send the hexbox to the school from home, if Yin was this good at video games Alex was going to have to get him to sit down and play a few sometime. Ones that weren't dating sims.
If he still wants to be friends with you after you tell him... Nope, not thinking about that right now, because there might not be anything to say.
Alex gave Yin a broad smile when he turned around. "Nice! Level three! And on a fairly hard game too.. You're sure you've never played these before?" he teased, before moving forward and taking ahold of the controls himself.
It would be a miracle if he made it past level one, with all of the things running through his mind right now.
He actually held it together pretty good, his little ghost man getting cornered right at the end when he only had a few more dots to consume. He shrugged, stepping back from the game and rubbing t the back of his neck, mindfully trying not to start running fingers through his hair. "I guess this just isn't my night."
Maybe it was a sign.

He did. He wanted to pin her. Because then it would give him and excuse to give her all the hugs.

"Just earlier tonight," he replied, watching Alexander play. He was good, but at the last moment could not avoid getting trapped in a corner. It was all well and good, Yin rarely passed the first level. But he frowned at what Alexander said. "For games correct? You are still enjoying this evening?" He was concerned, and rightly so. He would hate it if he had invited the zomboil to an event that he disliked, especially when he had thought it had been a rather enjoyable evening. Had he missed signs from Alexander? That Alexander was not enjoying himself? Did Alexander keep signing up to meet new students simply because he did not want to spend any time with Yin?
"If you are not having fun we could leave now." Then again, this could all just be Alexander being a sore loser. But Yin did not really think of him as that sort.

Alexander had turned away from the game, a little disappointed that he hadn't been able to get past the first level even once. "Hm? Oh, no! No no no, it's fine, I just meant that I'm having no luck with this one game, of course!" He nodded.
"I've actually had a lot of fun tonight. I got to meet a lot of students I'd never met before, and the games and the prizes and getting the photo taken..everything's been great! I uh...I really enjoy spending time with you, Yin." And that was just it, forget about everything else. He might as well have just started out with that last part and left the rest blank. He'd had a great night because he got to spend most of it with Yin and everything else was just an added bonus that he would have been fine without.
Things had gotten a little awkwardly quiet after he finished, so he put on another smile and said, "Come on, I have an urge to beat things with a mallet again!" He reached over and, without thinking about it at all, grabbed ahold of Yin's hand. Even though they weren't going to lose each other? Even though there was hardly anybody milling around at all? Yep. He just did it because it was comfortable, and it felt right, and if Yin wanted to stop him or take his hand back, he could.

He was relieved that Alexander had had fun, and he could not help but feel happy when Alexander specifically named him as one of the good parts of the evening. He was unsure of how to react exactly for a moment, should he tell him that he had had fun as well? Or would it just seem like he was saying it to be polite? While he was contemplating it Alexander brought up the hunter game and took his hand in his. He glanced around for a moment, trying to figure out why, but did not pull away. In some way it just felt...right, and inwardly shrugging his shoulders he moved along with the zomboil over to the other game. Maybe the zomboil was feeling a bit cold and wanted a bit of warmth. Because that made sense.
"Beating things with a mallet would make the night even better," he admitted with a grin. "But I also very much enjoyed spending most of the evening with you." Now that they were at the game he extracted his hand, deciding to go ahead and play the game first. How rude.
His score was okay, but nothing fantastic. Stepping over to give Alexander some room he noticed something shiny on the ground. He picked it up, eyes raised in surprise. A silver seed. "Did you drop this?" he questioned, holding it out.

Yin didn't let go of Alex's hand, which registered as being more significant then it likely was in the zomboils mind. Though the more he thought about it, the more he was sure that it wasn't because Yin actually wanted to hold his hand, but probably more likely he was just being too nice to say no, or to pull away.
Whatever the case, it didn't take them long to reach the game, and Yin was releasing his hand so that he could play. Alex stepped back a bit so as not to get caught in the cross fire of rapid mallet beat downs, feeling quite elated at Yin's comment about having enjoyed spending most of his evening with the zomboil.
Once Yin was finished, Alex stepped up to take a turn, but Yin was holding something small and shiny out towards him and asking if it was his. "No I...don't believe so." Alex had brought a small amount of money with him just in case it was necessary, but it was all safely tucked away in the pocket not holding all of the heart shaped bittersweets. He shrugged.
"I guess it's your lucky night!" Before beginning his turn on the game.
Somehow he managed to get his best score yet, an 11, and he beamed happily as he set the mallet back down and turned back towards Yin. With that game finished he wasn't sure if that meant the weremantis was ready to leave, so he asked.
"Did you..want to go now? Or was there anything else you wanted to do?"
