When it came back again, Amy was more than ready. She was so angry, so lightheaded, and wondering if she was starting to see things herself. Taking a note from what Joce and Regina did, she peeled off one of her shoes and swung at the bat with her left arm, hand in shoe. It seemed to work, and after the creature landed on the road, it lay still.
She fell back onto her rump, sticking close to Regina and Jocelin. She needed to a moment to regroup. Regardless of the fact that all she had under it was a sports bra, she ripped off her tank top, wrapping it as best she could on her upper right arm. The blood had to at least slow, if not completely stop. It was difficult as she was dizzy and tired (and not left handed), but she had something of a weak tourniquet on her arm. Good thing all those stupid crime shows on tv were worth something.
She shivered, feeling horribly exposed, vulnerable, and the closest to death she had ever been. She knew she wasn't dying, but that didn't mean she wouldn't be in the next moment. She folded her body against Joce, switching her good hand between putting pressure on her mock-tourniquet and trying to give reassuring touches to Joce and Regina. This gave her some time to look at the others around her...and thankful that she didn't seem to lose her wits while being attacked.

"Grant Caudwell," he said, smiling thinly. It felt very forced, as he could not shake the weight on his shoulders, or the cloud that seemed to be hanging above him. He looked at the new arrival and nodded his head in greeting.
"Hello," he said, as politely as he could manage, and doing so without bursting into random tears or sniffling through the syllables. "Thank you for the offer, but I'm not hurt. Mary, do you need some too?"
He knew the bat would be back, though, for better or worse. Maybe it just wanted to clear up this whole mess, and explain that it wasn't trying to attack her, it just wanted to get something out of her hair.
With this thought, Grant glanced at Harmony's hair, just in case.
Seemed ok.

Steven was still kind of tripping out when all of the sudden his green features weren't the only green thing about him. All of him was green, was from head to toe.
Normally he would've thought that was incredibly awesome, except when it caused his fear to turn up to eleven, enough he even let out the loudest, girliest of screams when he was suddenly hit by a ******** bat. He flailed beneath the attack, too scared out of his wits to do anything or even fight back much. And all of his indiscriminate flailing earned him one hell of a broken finger.
All the adrenaline from being so goddamn afraid didn't let him feel it at first, and he was free to continue running and occasionally flail at the bat when it attacked, but gah, that was going to hurt later.

The purse had slammed home and caused the bat to swerve off, and crash into another bat.
Looking down at her purse, amazed... she was suddenly glad that she had a large book in her possession. And maybe a few other odds and ends. She did not get the nickname 'poppins' for nothing. While she LOATHED that name, she could see where it came from. She had a lot of s**t in her bag.
Though the bat seemed hell bent now on grabbing her attention. Or maybe it was another one flying her direction... they all looked the same. She made a whirl to smack it again, but it seemed her luck had run out. The bats red eyes gleamed back with intelligence, or maybe it was survival instincts... all the same its massive bat was barreling right for her. She managed to dodge..mostly. But she landed on the shifting road awkwardly, and one of her fingers on her left hand suddenly made a CRACK noise.
"ohHELL" She screeched and brought the finger to herself, glaring down at the bat. Her skintone blanched for a moment, but suddenly...grew darker green. Were the bats trying to eat them?

For some reason, they were suddenly attacked by bats. Flannery, of course, took it in stride. Bats? Why not? At least they were bats and not space scorpions or something poisonous like that. She wished she had a bow with her, because she at least would've made missing look dashing. But all Flannery had were her fists. Well, she had Wallace too, but he wouldn't be a good weapon and she'd never be able to explain this to his mother. So she aimed a punch at the nearest bat, and somehow Flannery completely missed and hit nothing but air.
Worse still, her balance had been thrown off by the punch, and she landed pretty hard on her knee, skinning it and drawing blood. That was disheartening. And then Flannery started turning green, and she wanted to cry. She'd been so foolish, attacking the bat, comforting Wallace. Why did she want to be here?! She was scared.
Flannery wondered when she'd become such a wimp.

" Glad I could help." He had been feeling a little out of his element, he wasn't normally a fighter, more of a rogue, but at the moment, every little bit helped. " That's good." He responded back to Grant. " At least one of us wasn't injured. I have a feeling that that Space Whale is going to come back for round 2 at some point." " I'm Ian Davis, the currently purple dragon of Awesomeness." He was very spazzy from the Space Whales hum, and, while it didn't seem to make him as attracted to anyone like it was to others, it was making him even hyperer than he typically was. " I should probably take two of these myself." He did, swallowing a pair, which still left him enough for two more people. " It's a good thing I didn't completely empty out my pockets." He bounded up and down on his heels. " It's really nice to meet you guys!"

((didn't roll earlier for the second dice, oops!))
Ricky was green and frightened still as the bats swarmed about. Normally, bats didn't bother him so much. Having grown up in the rural south, he had seen quite a fair share of bats in his life - but in this place with everything else that was going on, they terrified the poor boy who already had gone through plenty. One bat flew at him, crashing into his shoulder with great force before swooping back up in the air. The impact was severe enough not only for Ricky to fall back to the ground, but for his shoulder to be dislocated.
"HELP ME!" he cried, rolling on the rainbow ground clenching his tattooed shoulder. His face was cringing, tears bubbling in his eyes as he rolled on the ground. He never felt so emasculated, so weak, so vulnerable - and he hated it. "HELP! MY SHOULDER! IT AIN'T WORKIN'."

It was all very very strange.
Some people were cowering and crying, something she had a WHOLE lot of experience with. Others were screaming and raging and trying to beat the tar out of bats. And others still seemed to be having makeout fests and decide this was the perfect time to hook up. Hmm.. they did say that happened thought sometimes.. when someone thought they were going to die they threw their inhibitions to the wind.
Perhaps the most disturbing thing going on however were the intense injuries that the bats were inflicting. People were bleeding.. bones were being broken. Scratches and scraps.. horrible pain. And what was Menthe doing? Brushing her bangs out of her eyes and adjusting her glasses as she simply watched. As if she were on some beach drinking a mai-tai and watching the sunset. As if she was simply watch the mundane tasks of people around the office of little consequence. How strange... how unfortunate for them. She was perfectly fine. Uninjuried.. even strangely at peace.
For the first time since arriving a familiar voice and face found Menthe, turning mildly to look at Jade. Ohhh.. it was that girl from the inn. The one that sometimes stopped and talked with her for a little bit. She was certainly nice enough.. though right now she seemed to be freaking out a little bit. And bleeding? And a strange color...? That was a little odd. But alright since everyone else was different colors too. Silly rainbow people.
"Hello Jade" She offered sweetly in her oh so soft voice. "Why don't you sit down for awhile? Maybe you'll feel better?" If she didn't.. ehhh.. her loss. Menthe could just enjoy the view on her own.
Oh look... a man not far from her rolling around on the ground crying. (Ricky) "You should probably make a splint" She offered matter of factly. Only if he really wanted to though. If it mattered to him.

((Jade's Bat=dead))
"Menthe..." Jade whispered in despair after realizing her words were not working on the secretary lady. It was hopeless, scary. Tables had been turned and Jade, who usually were not shaken by anything, was now trembling like a little leaf in a wind. Deep inside she knew that this was not the way she should act but could she shake off the terrifying feeling? No, she couldn't.
The bat returned, attacking now on back of her head. With wild screaming and panicly whirling her hands everywhere, Jade managed to get rid of the bat who soon after disappeared into the air with a little boof.
After realizing what just had happened, Jade collapsed into the ground, shaking frantically. She crawled closer to her closest friend in this realm and tightly grapped her arms around the young woman like a child who just had seen nightmares.
"I'm scared. I'm so scared," she muttered.

Space whale. Was that what the kids were calling it these days? He thought this reality show had been called the Surrounding. Not that he still believed in that, per se. He was now accepting this place as a dream or hallucination, and was playing by its rules as necessary.
But that still didn't make it real.
"It's nice to meet you too, Ian," Grant said sadly, though he meant it. He thought it was very nice that he was giving people pain meds, when he could have kept them for himself, just in case. That was very nice, and it just made him more upset about the whole state of things. Why was everything so unfair, that someone had to give up their hard earned ibuprofin for the good of strangers?
But people would persevere: no matter the personal cost.
His ears perked when he heard someone screaming for help nearby. He turned his head to see his friend from before, when the road had been peaceful, on the floor and in clear agony.
"Ricky!"
He looked at Ian, Harmony and Mary, then ran over to Ricky with an apology on his face. It was rude to run away from them, but he had to do something.
"Oh god, what's happened to you?" He cried, literally, his sight blurry from tears again. "Let me help you! What can I do?" He looked at the others for their aid, as well. He had a feeling that this would be more than he could handle, and he could not bear the idea of letting someone down when they most needed help. It broke his heart just thinking about it. He saw Menthe nearby, though he didn't hear her suggestion of a splint.

All things before the defeat of the bat seemed to have been lost in the chaotic excitement. It wasn't until after the bat had been vanquished that the girl noticed there was an arm around her waist, and a very concerned looking young man looking down at her. She glanced down at where his hand rested on her waist, cheeks flushing fuchsia as she rested one small hand lightly on his chest. He'd saved her life, was trying to keep her safe, and even now when the danger had seemed to ease slightly he was trying to see to her injury. It was incredibly sweet. Charming even. Why hadn't she noticed before just how lovely his eyes were? Granted they were currently orange, but she distinctly remembered vivid blue.
"Felix.." It was a wonder recalled his name, half deaf and under attack when he'd said it, but that at least had stuck in her mind. She turned back up to look at him, a surge of strong emotions circling through out her. It was crazy, she was never this emotional, and certainly never grew so terribly attached to a person she'd only just met. Her standards were much higher then that, but still..
Her heart was hammering in her chest as she rose up on tip toes. Delicate hand gliding up to cup his cheek so she could guide him down to her. Vibrant eyes falling closed as she pressed the fullness of her lips to his.

"I dunno," he said through his teeth, still rolling on the floor in pain. He had this happen to him several times before - sports injuries, mostly. Usually he just had to be held down while someone else pushed the shoulder back into correct alignment. It always hurt like a b***h, but this time between the pain and the fears of his surroundings, he felt near ready to pass out in pain and panic. He did his best to practice deep breaths until he could collect his thoughts and speak. "Just erm, have the girl hold me down while you press on my shoulder. Yer gotta press real hard, gotta get 'er back into the socket."
He bit his lip, awaiting the coming pain.

For a moment, he'd been almost convinced the damn bat was done for. But no, of course not - the damn things didn't know where to quit.
It only made him more angry. The Hulk was red, in this case.
"WILL. YOU. ********...." He stomped on it. The pain in his arm was the worst thing he'd felt. EVER. And it wasn't going away at ******** hell.

Grant looked mortified. He shook his head furiously even as he moved to listen to him. He looked at Menthe, who was closest to them at the moment and who he assumed was the girl Ricky meant.
"W-would you mind holding him for me?" he sniffled, against his will. He looked horrified and he was already crying anew as he moved to hover his hand over Ricky's injured shoulder.
"Are you sure you're ready?" he eeped out, his voice high from forcing back a sob.
He could only imagine how much the guy was going to suffer. And because of him! He would be purposefully causing pain.
"Okay... one... two... three..."
He pushed down on Ricky's shoulder as hard as he could, as directed, because he could never not follow a direction. Even if it hurt him, or apparently the person he was doing it for, in the process. He sobbed all the while, like a small child who had just had their stuffed animal stolen from them.

For a little while now, Wallace had been Blue. It was a silly nickname, and he'd known that when he'd assumed it. But he didn't think he would mind being Blue, just to humor Flannery and to throw their kidnappers off the scent. His hair was blue, his eyes were blue, even his swimming trunks were blue. There was a certain rationale to the name, and he liked that.
Being blue from head to toe, however, was distressing. Moreso than he could have imagined. He'd felt the gravity of the situation before, but it hadn't hit him quite like this. It was like a punch to the gut, as he realized anew that he was kidnapped, hopelessly lost, and being attacked by a whale. Wallace was a man, and crying wasn't manly, but he felt his eyes watering as he spiraled into hopelessness and despair. Would he ever get home? Did it even matter anymore?
He was still crouched on the ground, with his arms over his head. He thought that it was the safest way to go. Apparently not, as a bat-like creature flew into his elbow, taking a bit of skin with it. Wallace howled in pain and bit his lip, trying to stop the tears from coming. It, like the fight against the bat, was a losing battle.
