Romero himself would have had no issues with accidentally insulting a girl. He figured that nations existed for so long that church wasn’t an especially important aspect of life, but he knew that Luis was absolutely devoted to the Catholic Church and would always apologize for anything he did that he thought even remotely wrong.
Luis’ inability to talk to strangers was another matter though, and it was one that he, Romero, could try to fix. “That’s just a matter of confidence, hermano. You have to believe more in yourself, in your own strengths and weaknesses. No one is going to attack you for voicing your own opinions and being a little more assertive. In fact, they’ll probably respect you more for it.” That was part of the reason why Romero always spoke to those nations he didn’t know, and part of the reason why many nations knew him despite South America’s relative invisibility on the global scale. “Díos won’t smite you if you believe in yourself a little more,” he added, intending the comment as a lighthearted one.

~Slovakia~Zlata Augustine Lietchinsk 11th Grade "It's okay vith me~ Compliments are alvays nice nie?"Zlata chuckled, shortly returning to her old self as she took a seat and slid out her lunch that was in a bento box despite it containing slovak food, which ordinarily would be served on a plate, but you couldn't carry around a plate all day- with the little departments for different foods Zlata had found it much easier to organise her meal. Opening it up there was Bryndzové Halušky* in the largest department of the bento box and as a side dish cosily put in the smaller department below the largest one some Parené buchty** filled with a jam of some sort, and instead of the usual wine she had a sour milk, usually drunk with this type of dish. Zlata smiled, this was her favourite dish; so simple yet filling, all perfectly evened out. It helped her get through the sometimes harsh climates of her home. Noticing that the icelander appeared a bit...shy? Zlata smiled, it was kind of sweet really, but she decided to continue speaking to make things less awkward;"Vhat did you bring vor lunch zhen Emil~?"

Romero wrinkled his nose at the mention of America. That guy had simply gotten even more annoying in recent days with his arrogance. He shook his head. "No, Luis; what America has now is arrogance. He spent far too long at the top and it went to his head. No, confidence is simply believing in your own strengths and your own ability to do the right thing. One way to get it is to stand tall and not apologize for every tiny error. Apologizing profusely only makes you seem uncertain and weak in everyone's eyes." Venezuela hoped Argentina understood. This had drawn out into quite a conversation, and while it was one he was willing to have--especially with a brother estranged by war and similar issues--it was a strange one to have over lunch.
