Aislin slunk back behind the booth from where she'd been previously. Taking up her headset she grinned excitedly at the outcome. There were a TON of people on the dance floor! "Alright! He lingered in the crush of the others, pulling his tail about himself as he turned, trying to keep it from being trod on. That was one thing such a long tail was terrible for - it was constantly being stepped on if he wasn't careful.
As he turned, the announcement of the first song came and people began to move, he bounced there a moment or two feeling the song before he stepped into the music, jerking and bouncing and stepping, hoping he wasn't making too much of a fool of himself. He looked around, glad that no one he really knew was kicking around... at least until he saw the glitter of Ys and her dress not too far away.
He recognized her and cursed, shimmied away, hoping she hadn't spotted him. Augh, maybe this hadn't been the best idea! He bit his lip a moment then puffed his chest and let the music pick him up.

Jericho cracked his knuckles and ruffled his wings to prepare himself for what was to come. What kind of dancing would this be exactly, he wondered. Perhaps some of that breakdancing? Hopefully not. The dragon would probably hurt himself attempting to do that. He sort of forgot about the whole dancing for a moment as the music started. "..Really? REALLY?" he groaned. From one thing right to another. At least the lyrics weren't 'I wanna see your sausage age age your sausage age age' It wasn't much better at all though. Taking a deep breath, he decided to kick reason to the curb and do the impossible... and just dance. It started off with him grabbing his leg with one hand and placed his other behind his leg to start whipping back and forth. After doing this for a bit, he started to walk around jutting his neck forward like a chicken. He even flapped his wings a bit here and there when he wasn't anywhere near another contestant. And finally, he began to go around in a circle pelvic thrusting in every direction. The dragon even got his arms into the motion, going along to the beat. ---- A dance off. Shun was rather content to remain at the table and watch. There was no need for him to get out onto the dance floor and make a fool of himself. "...." Apparently not everyone felt the same as he watched Jericho 'dance' around the floor. "....." He stared for a moment, then shook his head to himself. "...yare yare...."

If this had been a normal prom, West wouldn't have been anywhere near a lameass dance off. True, he had participated in one at Scarentine's, but that had been for the benefit of his date. Now he was all alone, at least for the moment, and as the music began to play, he truly wondered whether or not this had been a good idea. As the monsters, reapers, ghosts, undead and even two of his fellow avarice demons began to spaz out, West decided that he had nothing to lose. He closed his eyes and gathered all of his questionable rhythm, calling upon the generations of wrath demons that had come before to guide him on this noble quest. Steady hands rose to his collar, popping that mothah like these bitches had never seen, and he began to spin spin spin. Aw yeah. There might not have been any actual glitter raining from the ceiling, but for a brief moment, there might as well have been.

The Conest had begun! And the song was... well Mot may have laughed his a** off... oh wait, he did! He laughed, and laughed, shaking his head. Too funny! This Prom was a blast! Finally, he started to dance to the energy of the music. He moved his body like no one was watching. Levi seemed tried, so it was time for him to dance for both of them. He slid across the floor, moving his arms and legs to the beat, grinning like a fiend all the while. He had been dancing all night it seemed, and he showed no signs of stopping. Whatever shell the boil had before stepping into that room, he had long since left it behind. Sure, he may look a fool, sure, he may walk the walk of shame the next day, wondering what the Jack he had been on to have done such weird things at prom... that didn't matter. Not now.

A shuffle heere and a shuffle there the entrance to the song was all about the head nodding and the popping and locking of the chest. Bul could feel the beat slipping down his spine making his limbs jolt and snap.
your peacock, your peacock c**k c**k
With each repetition of the final syllabul, Bul smacked the floor with his tail and leaned his head backwards.
If it were any other time the beast would feel like a complete lunatic doing this sort of thing but tonight he could really feel it.. and maybe this particular pop song was on his playlist somewhere where nobody would ever find it (relabeled as something much more macho sounding)
"Your PEACOCK c**k c**k YO PEACOCK OW~~" he wailed out with the music and laughed. What if he looked like a doofus? Right now... he was having a BLAST.
On the song continued and Bul dropped to the floor real low then bounced back up in increments with his hands up in the air and pumping excitedly. To his left and right even if everyone else was doing a better job than him he kept his game face and clapped along to the beat.
((Sorry if its short its dinner time D8 ))

She had no idea how to dance to this song. What sort of folk song WAS this?? Apparently, the song was dedicated to wanting to see something. Well- the tatzel pulled together from what she knew and tried to perform something using the tune.
...but it wasn't working. She spent alot of her time just looking around to see what sort of custom to follow given the song...
she stood there blank.

Joachim's awkwardness was completely lost on his date. Taryn could only giggle nervously and half hug herself as she accepted the open door and rushed into the room. She didn't know the song playing, not that that was at all surprising, and something seemed to be going on in one area of the room. The screejay seemed to be hosting a game? Regardless, the chimera only went so far into the room before hugging the wall and turning to wait for her date to join her. She wanted to take his hand, but her nerves entirely disallowed that. Her hands wrapped around her own waist a moment, until Abigail decided that their date was worth investigating. Her scaled snout nudged his hip, and a horrified Taryn batted her back.
"No!"

Of course it was a song she'd never heard of. Wait. Big surprise, she hadn't really heard many songs at all. Ever. "Get ready to go down!"Problem. She wasn't sure how to dance to the song. Although. Holly had seen this awesome dance the other day, a song about never giving someone up? Dance decided. The ghoul started to sway back and forth while hopping up just slightly. Her head started to turn a bit to each side as she danced too. Lastly, her arms started to shake up and down, like she was shaking something. Oh yeah. This was awesome.

"What isss a peacock?" Ys asked no one in particular. The music was starting up anyway, so it was unlikely that anyone could hear over the resounding beat. She began to sway to the pulsing music, letting her hips decide how to move. The other dancers were showing off their stuff, but instead of feeling intimidated, she felt energized. The thrill of all the moving bodies around her lit up her lateral line sense and she stopped thinking about how to move and just let it happen. She caught sight of Dekana again for just a moment before the crowd of dancers washed him away from her once more. Grinning happily, she threw herself into the moves, shakin' those hips to the tune. She'd find him again later on, for sure. As the booming base echoed vaguely in her helm, she could feel it in the water, feel the beat all around her. In a fit of inspiration after watching the sexy ghost ghoul earlier in the evening, she really let go.

As the music started, Sharra couldn't help laughing at the song choice...and whilst others might have been someone off-put by the selection, it more amused him than anything, and at least it had a high-energy tempo for him to boogie down to. Raising his hands, snapping his fingers, lower lip catching in his teeth for just an instant as he sent his ghoul a sidelong glance, regardless of whether or no she was paying him any heed, the boil slid onto the dance floor to have his moment in the proverbial spotlight.
Eyeing up West for half a second in a rather unabashed fashion, he then began to move his hips in a manner not at all dissimilar to that of a belly dancer, caught up with the beat in rather short order, posture loose and utterly comfortable with himself as he raised his hands to clap at appropriate moments in a series of dance steps that almost reeked of a heated Spanish number....and one to three spin. Dipping down in another low, fluid movement, the nergal demon did his best to make the entire thing rather provocative.
It was all in the hips, after all. All in the hips.

Barth was very determined to...well, at least place. He had not accounted for shimmying though.
Barth was not a very good shimmier.
He settled for a twist. And it went a little something like this.

What a tweest. It was, as twists go, apparently a pretty good twist.

Sparrow had taken dance lessons, but the song that came blasting out from the speakers, pounding through the walls and vibrating in the wood of the floors was, to say the least, not really what he had expected.
He let out a laugh, shaking his head as he looked up at Aislin, with a teasing wink that said Bring it on before he stripped off his jacket, tossing it across the ScreeJay stand to her. Reaching up, Sparrow loosened his bow-tie, letting the ribbons dangle down, and pushed up his sleeves. At first his movements were a little slow, slightly awkward, but once he glanced around at the rest of the people dancing, he figured he had nothing to lose. Black shoes spun on the sleek wood floor, sliding left, then right, and Sparrow dropped down, spinning around before gliding to his feet, twisting his body to the music. It was exhausting, ridiculous, and, at the same time, outrageously fun even if he did feel a tad silly. Letting loose like this was something he hadn't done in along time, and he was going to go all out.
And okay, maybe he wasn't that good, and maybe he staggered a little, but it sure as hell was a lot of fun anyway.
