Miyako stood off to the side frustrated. This was getting ridiculous. But she couldn't exactly draw attention to herself, now could she? Instead, she glanced around to see if there was anything that could be of any use in stopping this stupid fight, not really expecting to or otherwise, but to keep from seeing her companions and a magistrate no less act like spoiled children.

2k2 Perception roll = With a quick search of the premises, both in and out, Miyako finds a bucket of water that had been left outside the hut! That might get people's attentions!

Though, I will require an initiative roll for your opportunity to use it next round.

When the only thing that might be useful was a water bucket, Miyako knew that things were only going to get worse. This was ridiculous! Sighing and complaining at the fact she was probably going to get skewered by at least one of the parties, she went back inside and looked for the opportunity.

Both of them were not going to just drop the fight, it seemed. As he attempted to take a step to try to continue with the 'beat sense into them' prospect, he suddenly found that, while avoiding a knife and a hare, a chain had found it's way around his foot and pulled it out from under him. This left the crane face flat on the floor. Zanzen decided to just stay there a moment, trying to recollect himself.

Hisashi saw the sight before him and came to the conclusion that two things were in need of being done for this to get resolved:

1: Convince the Jade Warden's to stand down.
2: Calm the angered magistrate.

There wasn't much he could really do physically, so he attempted the force of personality approach.

"All of you! That's ENOUGH!"

Kojiro acts a split second before Zanzen can react, entangling his fellow Warden with the chain! A quick yet fierce tug of the weapon forces the Crane off his feet and onto his back, where he remains!

Yoritomo Hisashi has had all he can take, and he can take no more! Gandalfing the situation, he attempts to assert his force of will on all of you to get you to listen, even if for a brief moment! You can resist with Willpower/Deceit (Intimidation) to counter-intimidate, or Perception/Investigation (Interrogation) to see through his bravado, if there is one! The TN is 32. If you fail to beat the roll, you are compelled (but not forced) to stop!

"For the record, I never wanted a fight, friend Mant-herk..." Sanzo started to say from his pin, before being cut off by a tightening of Machiko's grip.

"Who do you think you are?! These are Crab lands! I uphold the law here, NOT YOU!" the Magistrate says, staring down the party Yoritomo.

Denbe, you're up! The brash magistrate is eyeing your courtier!

Denbe froze at the Mantis' words, feeling a bit silly suddenly. After all, that's all he'd wanted jumping into this, to diffuse the situation a bit and stop it from getting more out of hand. With the magistrate having the invader in hand though, so long as she could hold onto him, all was well though.

"Hisashi-san is right, we should stand down. These matters are for the magistrate to deal with as she wishes."

Which may or may not have been what Hisashi meant, but to Denbe it was- he'd already been thinking it. Though he couldn't help but nervously sidle in front of Hisashi- just in case the magistrate blew her top again, before bowing- a hair lower than he should have.

"Please magistrate, I beg you to reconsider your orders. I request permission to remain in the village today-" he had almost said overnight, but the sun was rising now, "to tend to the wounds of our companion, Kaui Kagae. He has been badly beaten and is unfit for travel. We should be ready to depart as soon as he can walk of his own power again, I believe it should take no more than a night's rest."

Denbe, trying to get in a position to protect Hisashi, had hardly gotten halfway through his request when Machiko completely disregarded it. You can't talk down a charging bull, it seems, as she released Sanzo, shoved Denbe out of the way, and rushed the remaining distance before slashing wildly at Hisashi - coming close, but narrowly missing, due to the defensive training he's undergone in the past! You get the impression that normal courtier checks aren't going to do any good while she's in this state of mind.

Coughing for a moment, Sanzo rushed up to Machiko, pausing to only look at Denbe for a moment. "Help me!" And he would attempt to grapple Machiko again! However, his lack of Jiujutsu training was still blatant, as he tried to grab Machiko's off arm, and she used the opportunity to twist his behind his back.

Everyone else, go!

Taking some time to calm down, he looks up at Kojiro. "So, at what point do I get leave to hamstring them?" While asking, he would stand slowly, watching Kojiro in case he tried to trip him again.

Miyako was fighting back a yawn, this was getting ridiculous. Glancing over at Denbe, she instead shoved the bucket of water into his arms before clearing her throat and making sure she was very clearly heard by all present. "Magistrate-sama, we would be glad to give assistance but there is no clear understanding of what crimes this man has committed. He has defended this town against several bandits already and there seems to be evidence of more to come."

"If this is a more personal vendetta would not a duel be more appropriate?"
