But how fast was fast enough? Those creepily little hairs at the back of Reiner's neck should well be standing, the feeling of someone stalking him getting stronger, and the worst feeling of all, that there was no escape! No. Escape. As he passed another tree that seemed to be the only one with a little seperation from the other tree's, he may even see the clearing ahead. He was so close! So...close to escape that eerie, terrifying feeling.
But when a hand suddenly clamped down over his shoulder, practically out of no where, he would instantly find himself shoved against another tree. With her body pressed against him, Aria's arm forced him against the tree as she leaned against his own body, keeping him pinned. There he would meet frightening, angry eyes. These eyes that dug into his very soul and filled him with fear he yet didn't know, but would learn today.... "When I say I will fight along side of you.. I expect to do just that. I don't expect for you to send me off against my wishes. It wasn't just my family in danger, it was you. How could you be so foolish?! Don't EVER do that again. Being a man does not give you the right to decide things. You above all know I can fight. "She said to him, her narrowed eyes didn't soften once, nor did she show any sign of letting him go.

Reiner Reiner jumped a bit when he felt someone grab his shoulder. He knew who that was. And the next moment, he felt himself shoved roughly against a tree, and... then... a female's body against his. He blinked, his face turning red. Calm down, Reiner... And then, he saw her eyes bearing into his. "O-oh.... h-heeeey Aria. Fancy meeting you here. Haha. You look... stunning. You're just... positively glowing. Did you do something with your hair? Ha ha...ha..." Oh gods, she was terrifying. And the way she had him... there wasn't much chance of him escaping. If any. "I-I'm sorry! Please, have mercy, Aria! I'll never step out of line again!!" She was scarier than his mother when she got angry. And that was saying something. "I was only trying to protect you..." He muttered. "I didn't want to take any chances. I don't see the problem with trying to keep you and your family safe." Some girls might consider him a sexist for his way of thinking in regards to women, but he'd always been that way. He felt like it was a man's job to protect a woman, and even more so a brother's job to protect his sisters (not that that was relevant to this situation.) This way of thinking likely came from his father, whether it was directly or indirectly, it was hard to know.Petting Sarah's head absentmindedly, Ein looked at Teresa, giving the princess a look. "No, you're not allowed in my city, you know that." She said sarcastically. "I'm quite sure I've already offered to let you stay there. You and our children are welcome to stay at my castle anytime." She said. "And if you want to stay there permanently, all you have to do is say so." Not like there wasn't free space at the castle. She was one of the only ones who lived there.  (( OOC: ))

"Flattery will get you no where! This isn't about proving yourself as a man to protect a woman. If I was unable to fight, it would then be a different story. You know full well I can, and you are going to learn to work together with me. Rushing into battle on your own is the stupidist thing you can do! Who can you count on to help YOU when you need it? Battle isn't a game, and it isn't a joke. I've seen enough careless people to know your actions are wrong regardless of what you think or what your father taught you. " Poor Reiner, he sure was getting an earful. In the end, though, it was only because she worried for him. "Just..stop the heroic play..I won't see you getting hurt. " After what may of seemed a endless series of torture {yeah,right} Aria released her hold on him, taking a small step back. "Now you promise you won't pull that stunt on me again. And I do mean a real promise! " Rather he agreed to that or not, Arial turned away from him, her attention back on the direction of the house. 'I have to go back to my family. Try to stay out of danger for once! ' Because he did seem to find it..

Reiner"This is my job..." Reiner muttered. "If I just didn't care, I wouldn't do anything and just let you fight. What's the problem in wanting to protect you? I don't want you getting hurt." He said, his eyes looking into hers. "I know I can take it. I would much rather take twice the pain in your place so you don't have to be hurt at all. I may be able to heal, but my abilities can't save someone who's already..." He couldn't heal a fatal wound. He couldn't save anyone from death, which is why he was so ridiculously overprotective, especially with women who he didn't necessarily view as weak, but... in most cases it seemed like a woman could take less damage than a man before death. That wasn't always the case--some women like Eve or his own mother could take ungodly amounts of damage before even being rendered unconscious, but still. Or Mordi, who was more sturdy than he could ever hope to be. She was... pretty much safe against almost any type of damage. She had even better defenses than their father, though she wasn't quite as strong despite all her strength. Thank goodness she was too innocent to think about being evil.
After she stepped away, he sighed softly. That was close. "Ugh, you lecture like Alice." He muttered. That might trigger her, considering she and Alice seemed to despise each other. Not that Reiner was too aware. Of course, he and Alice were really close, but she did tend to lecture him a bit often. Probably for this same reason. She was his retainer, so it was her job to protect him, but he didn't really let her do her job very well. Yeah... he wasn't fond of the idea of having a girl protect him. "I can't really promise anything like that. I do what I do because I don't want to see someone like you or Alice get hurt."(( OOC: ))

Aria sighed. It wasn't as though she didn't understand, and while she appreciated he cared about her enough to want to protect her, she still didn't feel it nessesary. There were more important people he should focus more into protecting, like his family, those who couldn't defend their selves all to well. "I love that you care so much to feel so strongly about protecting me, but Reiner..There are others you could protect more so then me. I can take care of myself, you know this. Do you really believe I would want you hurting more so just to protect me?I don't. I won't have that, ever. I care about you to much..." Which was a real unfortunate thing for her, as she didn't just care for him in a frienship kind of way. Her feelings were far more then that. A little something Reiner seemed to be clueless himself of! At what he said next, caused a slight glare from Aria. "Please don't compare me to her. " She lightly warned, just the thought of her kind of boiled her blood. She turned away, taking a few steps away from him as she muttered something under her breath. "I would have been a better choice to be your retainer...." Rather he made that out or not she didn't really care. It was the truth! At least, she thought so.

Reiner"Who else? In that situation, the only one stubborn enough not to go into the house was you. As long as you're in danger, I can't focus on the battle in front of me. I can't block everything else out, because I have to keep an eye on you. Or anyone else involved. The only two I never have to worry about are my father and Mordi, because god help anyone who tries to fight them." Those two were not to be trifled with. They were kinda the strong ones in the family, with Azura and Reiner being close behind. "Why care about me? I'm no one special. I'm a prince, sure, but those aren't exactly uncommon in this world. You yourself, along with all your siblings, are princesses. Besides, I have Alice and mother for that. And they're overbearing enough as it is." Azura was ridiculously overprotective, and Alice was rarely ever away from him when she could help it. Most of the children weren't terribly fond by their lack of privacy because of their retainers, despite being close to their retainers. Marie was the exception--she adored Severius and was always beaming when he was around. Pretty funny since most people were extremely uncomfortable around Severius. "Huh? Why not? You both seem to love lecturing or disciplining me for wanting to protect you." He said, scratching the side of his head. "What? What makes you say that? You and Alice are around the same skill. Aren't you two friends?" Not even remotely, probably. "'She learned to use lances directly from my father. You can't exactly call her unskilled." Because no one in this or any world could contest with Ephraim's lance skill. "I haven't even beaten her in a training session..." Lances trumped swords after all, and back when he tried to use the lance, she wiped the floor with him every time. "Besides, you're a princess. It would make no sense for you to be a retainer." Tell that to Owain. "If anything, you should have your own. Be happy you don't, though. My mother is just... ridiculous. You know her well enough by now." Their two families had been close since before Reiner or Aria had been born even, so they had known each other since childhood.(( OOC: ))

"There is a difference in being stubborn and wanting to protect a family from enemies, and not letting one single person fight the battle alone. Autumn is well capible of keeping everyone safe inside, I work outside. It was hardly being stubborn. "Aria said to him. " Next time, don't worry about me. You fight as you would, if I hear you even hint that I am weak, i'm going to have to prove you wrong later. You know it will be you on the ground, not me. " She seemed mighty confident! "Mordi and your father are greatly skilled, but so am I, don't forget that. " Her tone was less gentle as she said that. "No one special?? Your just giving me things to argue about aren't you! " This may turn into a very long discussion and arguement at this point! "Hmmm...were great friends, yeah..." The coldness in her voice was so obvious, she wasn't particuarlly good at hiding her feelings at all. "You know, I love you all, but please don't think everyone else but your father, Mordi and you are better skilled then anyone else. My mother could defeat your father in a duel, and you too, possibily at the same time! We are just as skilled, well, myself and mother.." Obviously not Teresa. It wasn't hard to figure out who she was talking about. "I wouldn't want one myself, but if I was to choose someon I wish to protect, it would still be you. I can protect the both of us, rather you like that or not."

  Lucky them, their free Pegasus ride wasn't actually a very long one at all. While the very best location for saving any fish would probably be Serenity Island and it's lakes, it was to far a distance for the passanger's, at least, that must of been what the Pegasus thought. Maybe it knew them more so then they thought! The lake at Serenity Forest was the second best location, and didn't get a lot of people coming inside to really put a threat to the living creatures in the waters. As the winged pegasus gently landed to the ground nearest to the lake, Niki was careful to slide off without dropping the bucket, as well as use her free hand to help Sarah down as well! This gave the Pegasus a time to rest, while they took the fish on over to the waters, and carefully lowered it into the lake water, letting the fish swim free to their new home.
"...Hee,hee..! Look at them go, they look so happy! " Now it seemed Niki was having an even greater time being a part of this then even Sarah was! "Swim, little fishies! Be safe! " Turning around, she smiled happily, kind of doing a high five with Sarah before holding her hands, and doing a cutesy little happy jump. "Who needs to be big and strong, we can save living things to by just being us! This feels great..! " ...She was very excited. "We should get all the fish out of that lake, and move them here, don't you think? " God, that would take an eternity!

  "Oh, you should...! " A young womans voice spoke suddenly, the voice coming from above, in one of the tree's above them. Only to suddenly have it's source drop down with almost impossible reflexes as she landed gracefully to the ground. "..Because then....! " She paused, walking past the girls toward the lake, to which she knelled in front of, her hand just barely touching the water's surface. "I can have a endless feast to enjoy!" As she said this, the water around her hand becan to radiate of a deep orange, red glow, and quickly began to bubble. Soon, the entire lake was filled of the same source of extreme heat, bubbling and forming heavy, thick steam to rise into the air. The heat could be felt through out the area as it got stronger, but what the girls may notice next, was the many, many thousands of fish and creatures in the water were surfacing, floating at the surface, and completely lifeless. Each and every living thing in the lake had been instantly boiled to death.
"Hee,hee...Endless! " She grinned, reaching down and grabbing one of the lifeless fish, before bringing it up to her mouth and...taking a rather large bite of it's head off..! All while the once beautiful lake..was boiling as if the bottom was pure lava. It was safe to say, both Niki and Sarah were in total shock, and clinging to one another....well, that was until Niki started to call for the Pegasus... "..Hey! I wasn't finished with you two! No escaping! " With her free hand, a ball of fire rose into the air, striking the Pegasus down before it could even get to them. Standing, she took another bite of the fish. "My other Reaper friend and I are playing a game. A sort of bet, to see who can kill the most of the future kids taking over the planet. So, it's a great surprise to see you two sweeties here all alone! Such easy pickings, too..But lucky me, one of them is part of the sea....Does that mean, if a cook you too, you can---?!!" Before she could finish that sentence, Niki's fear of all fears, kicked in with a scream, before she grabbed Sarah's hand and ran for the house! "...H-Hey!! Can't you let me FINISH my sentence first?! I sound so cool, darn it....Even though, i'm more hot then cool..." ...A joke with Phoenix was getting catchy with these fiery girls. "Fine, i'll burn...oh..wait, perfect line.....!! ......Come out, come out, little fishie! Or i'll huff...and i'll puff...and i'll Buuuuuuuuuuuuurn your house down!!!"
Holding her hand outward, more flaming orbs appeared to float above her hand. With a single heavy breath, she blew, as for a dramatic affect, the orbs flew the moment she did and struck the house in various locations, as it was quick to catch fire. "Roastie toastie princess! Roastie toastie princess~! "

Drako Constantine"Don't ask me why I meddle so much. I don't have an answer, guess I just like helping people." Drako sat at the edge of the lake, his boots off and his legs submerged somewhat in the water. It was pretty relaxing. Meanwhile, he looked up at the sky, his mind drifting back to the realm he had called home. Eorzea. This world had a few similarities, but for the most part, it felt rather alien to him. Though he had tried to be a part of Avalanche, it didn't seem to be working out terribly well. Perhaps because they didn't meet that often. At least this forest reminded him of Gridania, what was essentially his home. So he found himself coming back here rather often... it was so peaceful.
Of course, that peace would come to a sudden end when he felt the heat around his legs bolster to ridiculous levels. Letting out a gasp, he pulled his legs from the water, holding them up close to his body. "Oh god, oh god..." Hot... hot... too hot. How had he not noticed quick enough to remove them before it got too bad? Was he really that lost in thought?
Quickly pulling his boots on, he glanced around until he saw movement. Specifically, one or two figures running from another one. Grabbing his lance from beside him, he leaned forward, getting into a crouching position, before leaping up with his Jump ability...
And landing right in front of her softly. Surprisingly so for how high up he had been. But then, he wasn't a Dragoon for nothing. Standing, he swiped his lance at her, to cause her to back up a bit. "What are you doing here?" He got into his fighting stance. "God, my legs will probably get burns..." He sighed. They still hurt. "I'd get out of here if I were you. You put me ina pretty bad mood, and you don't want to see what that means for my enemies." Though this girl was cute... and way too hot. Could he really attack her with the intent to kill? ...Eh, maybe. Did it matter? Hopefully she would just leave. (( OOC: ))

"...!! " It wasn't fear that caused her to jump back instantly upon the sudden drop in of a...cute wolf-eared young man, but more instinct and quick reflexes. She only ended up backing further away again, when he swiped his lance at her. "..What do we have here? ....Aren't you cute...Look at those little ears..I just want to eat them up! " She grinned. "But I prefer little fish.." Raising her hand, she lightly touched the tip of the lance, which caused a strange energy of fire to grab a hold of the steel, and from there, flow entirely down the length of the weapon. He would find that no matter how much he shook it off, or blew on it, the flame didn't die, instead it continued to crawl closer.. "I realllllllllllllly don't want to burn you alive, so you might want to drop that before it touches you! If you think that little burn to your legs is bad, you haven't felt anything yet! " And it was true, unlike any natural fire, this one had a strong resistance, and an even quicker rate of destroying anything it touched. Like the house that was quickly being engulfed into it's flames. Enough to send Niki and Sarah rushing out! This home had a bad curse or something, just like Midgar.

"I'll just take that as a compliment and try not to be too creeped out." He said simply. Then again, this girl WAS quite attractive, so it wasn't the worst thing in the world. At least it wasn't some guy. .... Just wait until Florete met him. "Fish, huh. You might want to cook them. Eating them raw is, uh... Never mind." He shook his head.
Then, she sent some strange every down the lance. "...." He waved the lance around, as though trying to put the fire out. That didn't seem to help much. Once it got close enough, the handle became far too hot to keep a hold of, and he threw the lance down quickly, blowing on his hands. "GAH, hot...! Too hot...." ... Then he realized he was wearing gauntlets and cursed his fate. He shouldn't take them off to cool his hands right there in front of her, but gods, he didn't like heat. So it was easy to tell he had a problem fighting against fire creatures.(( OOC: ))

"Hehee..Mmhmm..." She reached out to surprisingly gently, grab his cute wolfie ears, playfully rubbing them between her finger tips."So soft.." Everything was creepy about this Reaper! As she brought her hands down, she gestured toward the lake of now dead fish. "Why do you think I made enough for a years savings? " Where did she plan to store all these fish, was a wonder.
"Aww, did I hurt your widdle hands? Maybe it's you that should back away now! I don't think you like the heat, do you? " No one did, not when it was a scorching killer flame to kill! "Go on, then..Run away, you should be with your pack. Lone wolf's don't do well alone!"
She raised her hand again, taking a step back to give the two a small distance between each other now as a wall of fire erupted between them, stretching a great distance and unfortunately, through the tree's. At this rate, the entire forest would be burnt down along with the house....
And that's when she would feel a hard object strike the back of her head, causing her to winch, and turn swiftly to an armed.......little blond. "What the hell?! " As far as she knew, that one was as innocent as a bunny. But there she was, standing with a determined, angry face while holding what looked to be a sling shot! "....Impressive, little girl. To go against me! But stupid.. " Veeeeery stupid! Bravery had it's consequences. She returned the gift, only in the form of a small golf ball sized fire ball. Though instead of it hitting Sarah, it hit the one who decided to jump in front of her, which was Niki. The fireball was small, but the impact was stronger then it looked, with enough power behind it to throw her back a few feet! "..That was stupid too..You didn't have to get hurt yet, if you would have just let me hit the brat! "
As if she would just stop, she was here to destroy, not make peace. So, once again, she raised her hand, only this time the flames that erupted, would encircle Sarah in a matter of seconds! "...Ha,ha! NOW look what you made me do! Can you jump into the fire to save her? WILL YOU?! I don't think so! " And Mr. Wolf there, showed just how sensitive to fire he was, surly he wouldn't try. "Tick tock, the flames are closing in! "
