The light of false dawn was just starting to shine when Janis stirred. She'd been sleeping soundly when continuous noise started to wake her. Half asleep she put her hands over ears. The noise wasn't loud, but I bugged her. Covering her ears didn't help, and she finally sat up and looked around.
Not far off she made out the silouette of Miami, and groaned. She'd dropped her guards out here and was picking up the thoughts of people in the city. It was strange that she heard them, sice that was beyond her usual range, but she was to sleepy to take notice of that. She layed back down and tried to ignore the buzz.

Jonathan opened his eys a bit and looked at Janis. "Something wrong?"

Janis shook her head and sighed. "Not really, I just forget we were going to a city." she said.

He nodded before closing his eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

Janis laid with her eyes close concentrating on blocking out the voices. She imagined a wall between herself and them, and was rewarded with silence. She breathed a sigh of relief. Now all she had to do was keep it up.

Janis got up quitely so not to wake Jonathan, and headed below deck.

Jonathan was still resting. Below deck Max was also sleeping.

Janis got her some breakfast and once she was finished eating found a quite corner to sit in. There she seriously thought about her powers. It seemed that her powers were stronger than she ever realized. She wondered why she hadn't noticed before, but the answer came easily. The collar. It also surpressed memories which were resurficing.
After a few minutes of testing her abilities and control she came to realize that her control was very bad. So she started practicing to pass time.

Jonathan soon woke up and stood up. He noticed that Janis was gone but the lower deck door was open. He opened a box and pulled out some scubadiving gear.

Janis continued working on her "inner wall", making it strong but flexible.

Once Jonathan got the gear on he grabbed a large bag of rope and tied one end of it to the boat before he tied the other end to his waist.

Sound broke through Janis' concentration. It was coming from the deck. She got up to check and saw Jonathan was awake. "Good morning," she greeted him, "What are you doing?"

He turned around and looked at Janis. "Going scubadiving... want to come?"
