Flicker, who was running ahead all this time, had by now reached near the walls of Troy. She was rather surprised no one had shot at her yet, and stopped running to catch her breath.

When Markus saw Arwa trying not to cry in front of him, he got a little confused. Uncle Markus...? he thought, following.

Sage noticed Markus's confused look and smiled. " Since we all know Delilah and he considers her his mother he considers all of us his aunts and Uncle. He heard me tell the Messenger God Hermes earlier that I was his aunt and allowed to spoil him rotten."

"Oh" he said, understanding. He looked at Arwa and asked, "How did he... err... 'come out'?" He had not been there when Arwa was 'born.'

Sage rolled her eyes. " He was a goat she decided to try and change because he followed us everywhere and she gave him an extra set of horns. It just turned out that way. I could have sworn I mentioned this before. Oh well obviously I didn't."

Jasmine nodded. "And it's good we're actually, like, finding each other. In the first half our we had gotten here, a shepherd had blown up at us and we got a god angry at us. So, yeah, I'm hoping the rest survived." Looking over at Arwa, she smiled. "And we got a new kid, which I'm sure everybody will just love."

Arwa clapped his hands then said in a quiet pondering voice, "Mum, how come I've got lots of uncles and aunties but no dad?"
Delilah didn't answer immediately, looking down at the floor before looking to Arwa to reply. "Arwa, your 'dad' was..." She was interrupted by a strange noise- the distant sound of hooves.

Sage blinked when she heard Arwa ask about a father. That was going to be one interesting conversation she decided.

"Arwa, allow me to explain... You didn't have a dad when you were... made." Delilah felt a little embarassed at using her choice of words and thought that it put her in a bad light trying to explain in simple language what really happened.
"S'ok Mum." Arwa said, cheerfully oblivious to what had been said. "I can always get a new daddy."

Blushing, Delilah said, "Arwa, Mummies and Daddies usually get together because they really, really want to be together." Hopefully the person that little Arwa had chosen wouldn't be too abnormal.

Sage smiled and moved closer. She really wanted to hear Arwa's answer. After all Arwa hadn't met that many men and with the fact that they weren't even from this time made the choices Arwa might come up with even more interesting.

"I liked that man who let me play in that house we were in earlier." Arwa said, as the group caught a distant glimpse of the walls of the Trojan city on the horizon like a pale cream line, sticking out as the only man-made thing in the wilderness of dust and dirt. "Do you like that man mum?" Arwa asked.
"Which Man, dear?" Delilah asked, now certain that they were headed in the right direction.
