He smirked and leaned close, forcing his hands to not grab her. "It may be my style," he replied, "but not with jewelry." Who would want biting jewelry anyway? It would really defeat the purpose.
Besides, he'd much rather do all the biting himself. It was much more... personal that way; goodness knows how he likes it personal.

Ever thought about it for a moment and then had to give that point to Ares. So, she inclined her head slightly in agreement and then sighed as she looked down at the locket. While biting her lip, she finally touched the clasp and then undid it, causing the locket to open...

When she did so, a map rippled out in front of her, circular and with a one-foot diameter. It faded at the ends, wispy colors turning into air. The whole map was the color of aging parchment, with ink-like markings in clear black. The whole thing, which currently mapped Evermore's dorm, the dorms next to hers, and the hallway, was pulsing with brief instants of white.
Ares smirked at her. "See? What did I tell you? No biting."

Ever gasped softly at the beautiful site before her and the wonderful colors. It was really magical and unique. She was actually pretty impressed by it.
Her other hand came up to cradle the locket more carefully and gently. "It's... it's actually very beautiful."
She was still watching the small light show playing in the locket before her very eyes.

Ares smirked. "Told you so. It's a map. Magical GPS, I guess, but no telling where you are unless you close it and open it back up." He watched her, glad and somewhat smug that she liked it. "Think of someplace. Any place."

Ever smirked at this and tried to think of the magical door that she had never seen before.

Ares sighed when the map's only move was to encompass the whole of Bai Ching, a pulsating mass of lines. Certain spots--the lake, the Headmistress' room, the infirmary--would pulse more often, and in brighter white.
"It doesn't show rooms that have spells keeping them from being shown, Evermore."

Ever tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and groaned. "Of course not... I knew it'd be too easy."
She sighed and looked back down at the beautiful locket. "Who made this for you, anyway? You sure they can't cast a spell to undo spells that are blocking certain rooms from detection?"

Ares shrugged. "I don't know who made it. It was a... well, a spoil of war, you could say. I think that's where I got it, anyway. I don't often pay attention to such trivial details."

Ever laughed softly and nodded. Yep. She should have guessed that.
Looking down at the locket, she noticed that one of the strong and fast pulses was located on the map where the lake was. So, Ever turned around, stopped looking down at the locket for a moment, and went over to one of her large windows. This one overlooked the lake.
And as she looked out, sure enough, there were many different colors and lights dancing across the lake's surface now and different fish and other water creatures were jumping up and dancing in the lake. This brought a beautiful and calm smile to Ever's face. The first one she'd had all day.

Following Evermore to the window, Ares took the risk and wrapped an arm around her. He looked at the lake, a sort of soft smirk gracing his features. "And so?" he murmured.

Ever breathed in softly, sharply as Ares' arm wrapped around her waist. With just her thin silk robe on and her skin still slightly wet, his touch was even more potent now. But Ever tried to keep her attention focused on the beautiful and calming lake outside and the amazing light show playing out before her. The lake should not be calming to her after today, but it looked completely different now with the light fairies and spirits dancing across the surface of the lake. She couldn't NOT look at be calmed.
She spoke softly, "So what?"

His other arm joined in, so he was completely hugging her from behind, and he let his head come to rest on the side of hers, though he was taller. "It's nice." He didn't seem to be referring to any specific thing.

Ever did not know how to react at all. Was this really Ares? He was holding her now and she was quickly falling under his spell again. She could feel it. She almost wanted to put her hands over his and guide his hands slowly up her sides, but this was what she had to watch out for!
No longer relaxed, Ever sighed and turned in Ares' arms. Now her face was closer to his, but she was determined not to become another pawn of his or random mother to his children.
She scowled at Ares and held out the locket up and out in front of Ares' face. "I thought we were talking about this locket."

Looking at the locket, which was almost hitting his nose with its proximity, he frowned lightly. "And?" Well, he actually hadn't been talking about the silly locket, but whatever. If she still wanted to talk about--s**t, he was gonna be whipped, wasn't he? Heeeeelllllllll.
But. He knew that if he played along, he'd have a higher chance of acheiving his own goals. So maybe it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
