"Your colleague, can I go see him now?" Annie asked quickly. She bowed her head, "I'm sorry for interrupting you two: I'm just really stressed right now. It is really important for me to try to figure this out as soon as I can."

Shane waves a hand at Annie, a gesture telling her not to worry about it. He says with a small chuckle, "It's alright, but he'll be at the place I'm taking you guys to. We'll get plenty of answers as soon as Ako and Garret return. In the meantime, maybe a little Q&A can shed some light on your situation. Tell me, what do you feel when you use your power?"

"I have two kinds of powers it seems," said Annie, "one is basic: I'm immune to poisons. When Mr. Ray poisoned us with a sleeping drug I was the only one not affected. Come to think of it, caffeine doesn't have the kick it used to for me and pain medicine has been useless since the meteor, not that I've needed it that often."
She closed her eyes and continued, "The second is more complicated: I can change water into hydrochloric acid, and other liquids into other poisons, but the second is mostly a fluke. It is easier when I have water already gathered, but I can feel the moisture in the air, and feel it heating up and gathering- as if pulling drops of watercolor paint across a canvas..."
She shrugged and chuckled, "Changing things to acid gives a sort of 'warm fuzzy feeling' to me. Pretty messed up, I know."

A full smile finally came over Ako's face at the thought of being a superhero. Sure, he'd already done stuff that would make Batman jealous, but he was no superhero. "Well, not exactly. I'm not about to run around in tights, even if I'm going by a different name." He still wondered if he should have told her, but was getting a vibe from her, like he could trust her. He wondered if that wasn't another aspect of his power, like how sharks could sense other fish in the water.

Lily Stinson Lily almost doubled over in laughter at the mention of him in thighs, she was a very imaginative person, so she could literally see him running around in a pair of blue tights, using a dramatic voice that he would save the world.
"Let us hope you don't run around in tights. Clark might be able to pull it off, but I seriously doubt you would." she said with a wink. She averted her gaze from him a moment, seeing the morning rush start up. She was hungry, but she didn't want to be rude.
"Say, are you hungry? It's my treat. We don't have to go far, just across the street, I don't know if you ever been inside that coffee shop, but their espresso is the bomb, and they have muffins that are to die for. " she said with a exaggeration on the 'die for' she really hoped he would agree to breakfast.
She watched as the bird still rested behind them, plucking at his wings with his beak. He was a white pigeon. Rather funny looking bird as to Lilies thoughts. She never really liked Pigeons, they where annoying and messy. Always leaving presents on her Razor MX350, tainting it's cobalt blue paint job. Nasty bugar she thought to heself, finally returning her gaze back up to Ako's face.

Tansy bit onto her bottom lip as she listened to Annie and Shane speak. Sometimes she hated being so mild mannered. But at the same time, she didn't dare speak up. She didn't feel like it was her place. She never really had been the brave go getter type. Instead, she listened and watched out the window.

Shane makes an unconscious movement that would normally be an adjustment of his glasses. "Warm and fuzzy...I wonder." He turns around to the cupboard and pulls out two glasses. He fills the both of them with tap water and sets them on the counter. He opens another drawer and pulls out a roll of sealing wrap. He tears a piece off and stretches it thin over the opening of the glass on the right. He looks at Annie, "If you think you can, I'd like you to change the water in these two glasses into hydrochloric acid. It wont eat through glass, so just have at it."
If he was right, the one with the airtight wrap shouldn't change. He holds a thumb and forefinger to his chin in contemplation as he watches her.

Ako's stomach growled before he could answer. No matter how much you wanted them to, two Taquitos did not make a full breakfast. "I'd hate to have you pay for my breakfast after we just met, but that does sound pretty good. Do they have tea? Coffee makes me a little twitchy."
He followed her gaze, to see the little bird that had spooked him. It was a little white dove, similar to a pigeon, only smaller. Not his favorite bird, but still a pretty sight, and supposedly a good omen.

"Something it won't eat through," said Annie smiling, "what a change." Closing her eyes she focused, it might be an easy task on most days for her, especially now that she was learning control, but after what happened earlier it worried her, but she had gotten some rest so that might help.
As she closed her eyes she visualized the glasses of water and dipping a dirty paintbrush into the tap water, the paint (in this case hydrochloric acid). She could sense the water swirling and mixing with the acid as more and more changed and gurgled into acid.
Her eyes snapped open as she took a deep breath and she stabilized herself. Smiling, she sighed, "I'm not quite one hundred percent yet... I think that the water has been changed. Test it though to make sure if you want." She was confident that she had changed both glasses, after all she was able to turn a persons blood into acid and eat him inside out. But, then again, she could be wrong. After all, Shane Morris seemed like more of an expert than her.

Garret sat back down on the couch after Ako left. He understood Ako's need to be alone. After all they went through it was time to lay low for a while. Ucaunsciously he lifted his hand and he could see moisture gathering at his palm; his palm grew frost and just over his palm a sphere of freezing air gathered and it spun in a counter clock-wise way. A slight whistling sound surrounded him. A heavy sigh came from his throat and he closed his fist hard on the beautiful sphere in a burst of cold air. What was he thinking? He could never lye low again. He was frustrated, at not being strong enough to defeat the monsters. Ako had destroyed the machine before he could really kill them. He looked up at the ceiling and wondered how Ako was doing. Becaus they weren't safe anymore, and being alone was not a good thing. He couldn't control his thoughts and they bounced around all over the place. He shook his head and stood up, heading into the kitchen for some coffee maybe.

Lily Stinson Lily smiled at his acceptance, he didn't quiet say yes, but asking about tea wasn't a no either. "I'm sure they do. And it's really no big deal. I am not hurting for funds. " she was telling the truth, though she did have a allowance now, she could call and tell her mother when she needed more. Of course she would have to show her receipts for everything, which really wasn't a big deal.
2 more weeks of this, and her funds where all hers again..
I suppose being good isn't all that bad. she thought to herself momentarily before heading towards the door. The sun was high in the sky by now. Not quiet late morning, but it was heading that way. She sighed to herself, glad that she had no classes today.
When the teenage girl walked pass the bird though, she noticed something about it's wings, he looked all white, but he had a black line running the tips of his wings. Common with doves and not pigeons, she sighed, hating to be wrong but at the same time, glad it wasn't a pesky bird. Sure a Dove wasn't much better in attitude, but after all, they where a symbolic and holy bird.
"So, I take it that was a yes to breakfast?" she asked again, cocking her head backwards to see her giant friend (Considering she was only 5'4, anyone over 5'9 was a giant compared to her. ) Sometimes she really hate being short. But it did have its perks, she wished she had a dime for all the times she'd been underestimated because of her size, luckily for her, they did..

Shane nods and carefully peels the wrap off of the glass to the right. He reaches into a drawer and pulls out two spoons. He takes one spoon and dips it into the glass on the left. Almost immediately the spoons begins to dissolve and eats its way up towards Shane's hand. He whistles sharply and drops the spoon into the glass. "I think I'll just let it keep that one. That's pure acid in that glass. If my theory is correct, though, there is a limit to how you can affect moisture."
He takes the second spoon and dips it into the second glass. There is a small sizzling, but that is all. The spoon retains it's shape, but is very slowly losing it's outer layer of silver coating. Shane nods with a small smile, "That's about what I was expecting. Your power is a class three type, which means you actually produce a substance from your own body that reacts with something outside of it. In your case, the chemical you release reacts with moisture to produce poisons and acid. The glass on the right was covered, but it wasn't airtight. However, it was covered just enough to render your power nearly ineffective."

"Class Three.... Mr. Ray said something like that. When we escaped from the cell block he said that there was a class three, two class twos and a class one." She stood straight and grabbed her arm in front of her. "We had guessed that Annie was the class three, and I guess I'm the class one." She looked down somewhat. Another blush crossed over her cheeks.

Shane huffs, "He probably said that because he stole the research my colleagues and I have done on meta-humans. It works like this: A class one would be someone who has a primarily benign mental power. Gidget falls under this category, as do psychics. While they have incredible brain power, they cannot do anything without a "canvas." A class two is someone who can project and create things. Ako and Garret fall under this class, as do pyro and telekinetics. A class three is someone who can influence outside sources by way of releasing microscopic chemicals from their body."
Gidget walks into the kitchen after a much needed bathroom break and interjects, "Shane, Charles Ray can produce things that he calls F-particles. It feeds off of the pheromone that people give off when they are afraid."
Shane nods to Gidget, "So that would fit him under the same category. Finally there is class four; people are capable of manipulating their own bodies. This would include shapeshifters, or people who can wrap their body in something. There are also combination, and subclasses, but I wont go into that now."

"So you are saying I can release microscopic chemicals from my body?" Annie asked. "But if that is the case, doesn't that mean that my body produces such chemicals naturally. Basically, my presence is poisoning everything around me, right? That is what Mr. Ray seemed to claim that I was doing, but I doubt the sincerity of his words to some degree..."
Sighing, Annie leaned on the counter, "Class threes sound the most detrimental though to what is around them." She narrowed her eyes at him and asked seriously, "How did you manage to do all this research on meta-humans anyways?"
