Rodyn Jedi Order - Republic Knights Relations: As I said earlier, the "higher-ups" have tension. The rest hold understanding, but many Knights see the Order as traitors/deserters. Which is doubly true since the Jedi 'swore to defend the Republic'

Which is doubly true since the Jedi 'swore to defend the Republic' To which they'd probably retort that the republic they swore to defend no longer exists. They were also sworn to uphold truth and justice in the galaxy, which the republic could no longer provide. Both which the Republic Knights would view as weak excuses, and probably swear off having anythign to do with jedi ideals slowly.

At which point they begin evolving into the Imperial Knights, and realize the only way to have the Republic they truly want is to take it over

It will never be as powerful as Fel's Empire. Without all that came before it, its little better than another Republic.

No, it won't. It'd take many years (decades probably), and a lot of luck to get that way

It's still early, but things will get tenser the longer the kngihts and jedi are split. Depending on the war's continuation, the two might get really nasty.

That's to be expected
Look how the Jedi treated the Potentium

Yoda's a potentium user, if i remember correctly; however, the issue for the jedi is not the potentium, but rather teaching the younglings the ethics before the understanding.
If nothing else, Mace himself has to be considered a potentium user, as he used the dark side to power his lightsaber combat.

Ultimately it's up to those playing the factions to determine what specifics were tweaked post split.

From what I read on the entry, Yoda and the rest of the council circa 132 BBY were the ones who banished and forbig the Potentium. Mace justified it as his way of using Vaapad, a light-saber style that really only worked for him. He and Gui-Gonn ran into some Potentium users, but never joined them.

Wouldn't that fall more into the whole issue of "teaching the youngins morals"? I mean, even if Yoda and mace used potentium, that doesn't mean it was legal to teach?
Or what about yaddle? Wouldn't her killer thingy move midicro or whatever, even if it is light side, still count as potentium?

The world gets a lot bigger when one becomes a Knight.
Padawan and Initiate training are relatively strict, but once you become a Knight, you're pretty much on your own to do whatever you want.
Where it becomes a problem is when you teach your ideas to other people. That's how Hal got banished.
