Trying valiantly and failing miserably to pretend he was asleep, Axel said, with his eyes closed and between sleep-like breaths, "I can't hear you because I'm asleep." Deep breath, "These towels are so much more comfortable than a desk." Unnoticed by him, a couple of towels under him began to slip, until the towels and him plummeted to the ground. Groaning on the ground, he was about to lift up his head when another one fell on top of him. Glaring at it, he muttered, "Et tu, Towel?" before getting up and throwing the towel to the ground. Closing the door, he said, "Well? Are we leaving anytime soon?"

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora crossed his arms as Riku hesitated. What if he was going to lie? He wouldn't put it past him, especially if it was a bad thing he was avoiding. However, something he wasn't expecting came out of the silvernette's mouth. He smoked? Since when? And why hadn't he told him? After the initial surprise, the brunette's eyes narrowed. "Oh really?" he replied. "That's gross. No wonder you smell like crap. Blech." He decided to keep his response low-key. He'd hear about it later.
However, the Keyblade Master knew that there had to be something else. What did smoking have to do with that girl? Nothing, that's what. So there had to be something else, and it involved that mysterious message and the girl he was sitting next to. He thought briefly of Riku cheating on Namine, but that didn't make sense because the two had only been together for a day. Plus, it looked like he and the girl weren't too fond of each other. The skeptical look returned to his face. "That was the semi-bad news, wasn't it?" he added finally. "If so, what's with that girl and you, hm?" He smirked, knowing he'd cornered his friend now. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi It all seemed to happen so quickly to Kairi. One minute she and Sora were happily on their way to lunch and then suddenly she was on her way home. The red head was quite shocked when one of the assistant principals came up to them and explained that Kairi's foster parents had called the school to say she needed to come home. The moment she heard that Kairi began to worry. Had something happened? Were her foster parents okay? The crimsonette was glad that Sora came with her to get her things and when he said that he'd write down the homework for her. Kairi handed the brunette her lunch since he was staving and she wouldn't need it at home, and then they walked to the entrance together. Kairi threw her arms around Sora and said, "Thank you for all of your help Sora." She let go and hurried off toward home. Filled with panic Kairi ran the whole way to her house. When she got there she quickly pulled out her key, wrenched open the door, and ran inside. She stopped suddenly when she saw her foster parents sitting at the kitchen table. They looked up at her in surprise at her sudden entrance. Kairi dropped her things and ran to them and gave them big hugs. "Thank goodness!" Kairi exclaimed, "When the assistant principal told me that I had to come home I thought something had happened to one of you!" Kairi's foster mother hugged her tightly and said "We're sorry Kairi, we're fine. But..." Her foster mother let go of her and looked sadly at the ground. Kairi's foster father finished her sentence. "This came in the mail today, and we felt it couldn't wait." He handed Kairi a letter address to her sent from Radiant Garden. She looked at the letter then to her foster parents. "Wha-What is this?" she stammered. "It's a letter from your birth parents," Kairi's foster father told her calmly but with a hint of sadness in his voice, "We didn't open it since it was addressed to you." Her foster parents hugged her and then her foster mother said "Whatever it says Kairi, please know that we love you very much and will always support you." They released her and Kairi stood there, her mind complete overloaded. First she had been scared to death that something had happened to her foster parents, and now this bombsell?! After a moment she asked, her voice cracking as she fought to hold back tears, "Do I have to open it now? Can think about it for a bit?" "Sure sweetheart take all the time you need." her foster father smiled. And with that Kairi ran upstairs to her room, threw herself onto her bed, and began sobbing, still clutching the letter in her hand. A mixture of emotions were going through Kairi. She was scared to open the letter. Afraid of what it might say, but she was also kinda excited that her parents were actually alive and had contacted her. After about 30 minutes of crying and fighting with herself about whether to open the letter or not Kairi took a deep breathe and pulled out her cell phone. Though she was scared, the crimsonette knew she had to open the letter at some point. She knew that if she had the one person she cared for most, Sora, somewhat with her she'd have the courage to open it. She flipped open her phone, pressed the button that had Sora on speed dail, put the phone up to her ear, and waited for the brunette to pick up.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... As Sora was waiting for Riku to spit out the rest of his response when something buzzed in his pocket. His cell phone. He pulled out the little silver phone, a crown dangling from the antennae on a chain. He looked at the display and saw that it was Kairi. A look of concern passed his face and he looked up at Riku. "It's Kairi," he explained. "Give me a sec, okay?" He turned to the side and leaned one shoulder on the wall before flipping open his phone.
The brunette put the phone up to his ear and waited for a moment for the call to register. Once it did, he took a breath. Why was Kairi calling him? He was worried now. What if she'd been called home because something had happened to her foster parents. He knew how much they meant to her, and if someone was trying to get to the Princess of Heart, then using them would be their first plan. "Hello? Kairi, is something wrong?" he spluttered, his words slipping out quickly. He sounded a little more upset than he probably needed to, but he'd rather be safe than sorry. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi A wave of relief rushed through Kairi when she heard Sora's voice. She was afraid he might not pick up and she had no idea what kind of message she would have left him. "Hi Sora," the princess said slowly managing to remain calm. But that only lasted a second. The next moment Kairi was crying again. "I'm so sorry Sora!" the crimsonette wailed, knowing that it must be hard for Sora to understand her. "I-It's just that I got a letter from my biological parents, and I don't know what to do!" Kairi took a breathe trying to calm herself down and continued, "I haven't opened it yet. I'm scared of what it might say. So I called you. You've always been then for me and I was hoping you could be here for me now."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora's hand loosened slightly when Kairi's sobs rang in his ear. He was really worried now; what could possibly be wrong. Once the crimsonette calmed down and spoke some more, he understood. He was rather surprised that Kairi's real parents were still alive and remembered their daughter. It'd been 16 years and this was the first he'd heard of them. Truth be told, he'd actually thought they'd been turned into Heartless when Radiant Garden had been taken over by darkness.
The brunette held his breath as Kairi finished, his mind racing. What if this was all a trick? Nah, it couldn't be. But what would her parents want? And what could he do to help her? Maybe he could use that book excuse to get out of school and go to her house. He was sure the office would let him. "Of course, Kairi," he told her, his voice soft but firm. "Do you want me to come over? I'm sure I can think of an excuse to get out of school." He looked up at Riku. Of course he hadn't gotten anything else out of him, but it could probably wait for a little. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi When Sora asked Kairi if she wanted him to come over, Kairi knew in her heart that nothing would make her happier. "Oh Sora you're so sweet," The crimsonette said between sobs, "But are you sure it's okay? I'd hate it if you got in trouble because of me."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... A pink blush flashed onto Sora's face as he heard Kairi call him sweet. He didn't want Riku to see that reaction, so he quickly looked away from him. It took him a short moment to gain his composure again, and it was good that Kairi kept talking to give him some time. He didn't care if he got in trouble; he'd do almost anything for Kairi. Heck, he'd stabbed himself and released his heart for her, so how much more can one do?
The boy thought for a moment after Kairi finished speaking to think of an excuse to get out of class. The book. He was so glad he'd used that before. Take that, Riku! "It's no problem, really," he reassured her. "I'm out of class already talking to Riku. Anyway, I'll be over in a little. Do you think that, if I need you to, you could have your 'parents' talk to the principal to convince him to let me out? I think I won't have a problem though." He didn't care if the silvernette next to him thought this method was childish. It was the safest route, and it was fool-proof. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi "If you're sure it's no problem then yes, I'd love nothing more then to have you here with me!" Kairi said, now blushing deeply and embarrassed that she had said that. She was glad Sora couldn't see her face. When Sora suggested that Kairi have her "parents" call the principal to let him out Kairi smacked her head with her hand. "You're right! Gah I'm such an idiot! I'm sorry Sora! Hang on one sec, okay? Kairi set the phone down and ran down stairs to the kitchen. Her "parents" looked up when she came running down and saw she was had been crying. "Oh Kairi..." he "father" said hugging her. "Mom? Dad? Could you please call the principal to let Sora come here? I don't know what to do and I think Sora being here will really help," Kairi asked fresh tears spilling out. "Sure dear, it's no problem at all. I'll go call now," said the crimsonette's "mother". "Thank you," Kairi said wiping her tears and hugging them. Kairi ran back up stairs and grabbed her cell phone. "Hey Sora. My mom is calling the school now so you should be able to get out fine. Thank you so much Sora!"

Ηικαŕι Hikari looked up at the clock, seeing that the bell was to ring in just a few minutes, and yet the Keyblade Master and Riku have yet to return to class. Where could they have gone? After a moment of thought, Hikari set down her book and took out a piece of paper, and began drawing what looked like a cat with a Heartless Crest on it. Whens he finished, she pressed her index finger to it, which made the picture seem to come to life out of the picture. "Go see what they're up to," she breathed to the picture, taking care to not let the teacher hear. The black cat blinked and walked out of sight when it went past the paper's edge, and appeared in real life out of a small portal. The Heartless cat blinked his bright yellow eyes, listening to the voices around the corner and trotted soundlessly towards them, hearing the voices of Riku and Sora, who seemed to be speaking with someone on the phone. Hikari was able to hear what the cat was hearing through the connection she had with the creature. So Sora was going to see Kairi, was he? While any other time with any other person, Hikari could care less who decided to skip school and see their girlfriend or not, but when it involved people as important as the Keyblade Master and the Princess of Heart, the girl believed it to be of significant importance. Follow him and keep hidden. He or Riku will be likely to sense you. she told the Heartless. The cat blinked and padded out into the open and climbed up a tree, taking care to position himself so the Heartless insignia couldn't be seen by the two boys. The cat then began to nonchalantly lick his paws and groom his face, acting like what any other cat would do.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Again Sora felt his face redden and he hid it from Riku. He was relieved that Kairi couldn't see how red-faced he was over this. But he was glad that she felt that way. He'd rather be there with her than at school, or trying to get info out of Riku. Maybe Kairi knew more about his situation, too, and he knew she would talk to him. But more than anything, he wanted to be there for her.
When there was silence on the other line, the brunette took this opportunity to talk to Riku. "Kairi got a letter from her real parents in Radiant Garden," he explained quickly. "She hasn't opened it yet, and she wants me to be there. I'll let you know more later, 'kay?" He finished the last sentence quickly as Kairi was back on her phone. "Alright, I'm on my way then," he replied when she told him that her "mom" was talking to the principal. "Don't worry. I'll be there in a couple minutes. See ya." He waited for her to say good-bye, but walked towards the entrance anyway. He passed the office and saw the secretary speaking on the phone. She saw him and nodded. He grinned, left the building -- not noticing the cat in a nearby tree -- and headed for the place Kairi'd called home for over a decade. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi smiled when Sora said he was on his way there. "Okay great. Again thank you so much Sora!!" See you soon. Bye bye for now!" Kairi hung up the phone, and then stared at the letter which was on her desk for a good moment or two. She looked at it as if it was some creature about to attack her. Finally she sighed and went to the bathroom to wash her face, since she had been crying so much. She then sat down on her bed and waited for Sora.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... When Kairi hung up, so did Sora. He sighed, wondering what the letter could possibly be about. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing. Maybe it was just her parents telling her they were alive and wanted to meet her sometime. That'd be nice. He'd been looking for an excuse to go back to the other worlds and see Leon, Yuffie, Cid and the others. He would gladly accompany the crimsonette in going to Radiant Garden.
The brunette had a strange feeling that he was being watched, but he knew he was just paranoid. Of course he always had that feeling, because on his earlier adventures, it had been that way often times. And so what if someone was watching him? What were they going to do? Attack him? Good luck with that. Soon, he found himself at Kairi's front porch. He knocked and stuck his hands in his pockets. He really wished he wasn't wearing his school uniform. His usual clothes made him a lot more comfortable. GO TO SCHOOL!?!

Kairi Kairi had gone down stairs to get some water. Just as she was about to go back up stairs, cup in hand, she heard a knock at the front door. Trying hard not to spill the water the red head ran to the door and quickly opened it. There standing in front of her was Sora, his hands in his pockets. "Sora! Come on in!" Kairi said wiping her face again in case there were still tears. "Do you want anything to eat or drink?" the crimsonette asked smiling as best as she could.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSoraxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxFinally back!!! I can rest up, hang with my friends and... Sora took one more quick look around as the doorknob twisted. He turned his attention back to the door as it flung open and revealed Kairi. He smiled softly and pulled his hands from his pockets. He laughed at the crimsonette's happiness and walked in behind her. He looked around the familiar living room but couldn't seem to find her foster parents. He shrugged that off and listened to her quick question. He shook his head no. "I'm fine. You gave me your lunch, remember?" he grinned.
Sora could tell that Kairi was hiding her true feelings and expression. He frowned slightly for a moment, then decided it would be best if they got this thing over with. Again, it may not be as bad as they were making it out to be. He gently grabbed the girl's hand and led her up to her room, which he of course knew the location of. He sat on her bed, noticing the envelope on her desk. He didn't bother shutting the door, half-wondering if her "parents" would listen in on the contents of the letter. "Okay, Kai," he started quietly, using her old nickname to make the environment lighter, "let's take a look at this thing." GO TO SCHOOL!?!
