 "Heh, yeah. Until you can get out of this hellhole?" He questioned, removing his sunglasses. Without them he suddenly looked a whole lot younger.

 She looked at him, mildly surprised by both the question and the change in appearance. "U-um, well..." Goosie suddenly remembered a bit of their previous conversation, "--Oh, um, I mean...you decided to stay?"

"Well, it was more decided for me..." He admitted, staring at the floor forlornly."I... erm, tried to leave the other day. Turns out I'm cursed to freeze over every time I try it"

Goosie felt her stomach drop, biting her lip as he explained. "I'm sorry...that's not fair." Looking at his expression, she felt a strong urge to comfort him. She hesitated awkwardly before deciding to bridge the gap between them, and with much repulsion stomached, reached over and placed a hand squarely on his shoulder. Leaning down a little to catch his eyes, she met them and added "U-um...we'll find a way to fix it?"

"I-I guess so. Raven's not for letting up on it though" He looked back at her sadly, resting a hand on her arm cautiously."Great life I've got going, huh?"

Goosie smiled uneasily through the discomfort of being close to him, "Y-you and me both...it's okay, um, she doesn't have to agree with it. We'll make her. I dunno how, but she can't be totally unstoppable." Her words were pretty hollow though, she realized. She lowered her gaze and sighed internally. Stepping back, she let go of his shoulder and dropped her arm to the side, deciding it was enough of that.

"I dunno. I'm pretty stuck here I think" He forced a smile but it didn't quite reach his eyes, especially as she was backing away from him again.

She bit her lip, looking up at him again. Goosie couldn't bring herself to say anything more about it, instead looking at him uncomfortably before she finally said another quiet "I'm really sorry...f-for everything." Shaking her head, she sunk into sitting onto the bed nearest both of them and sighed. What a day.

Bristan didn't even seem to consider this for a second. "Y-You don't need to be. It's me who's been an a**"He sat next to her, leaving a good foot between them, before staring at his knees again."I'm sorry for being an a*****e"

Goosie looked across at him, smiling meekly, "I-I guess we can't help it, right? We used to get along so well..." She looked at her knees as well and frowned, finding herself wanting to urge him to take the pills again but deciding it wasn't tactful.

"Y-Yeah. I guess we did" He agreed quietly, not even seeing her glance. Bristan simply held his head in his hands, suddenly fearing that he was on the brink of losing it.

She noticed his hunched over position and hesitated again. She scooted over, furrowing her brow and saying a quiet, "H-hey, it's gonna be okay..." as she slid an arm around his back and leaned in as close as she felt comfortable. It wasn't pleasant-feeling, but he seemed so vulnerable that she couldn't ignore him either.

She gently brought both arms around him, returning the embrace and closing her eyes. It almost felt good again, in spite of the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Warm and feeling safer than he had done in days, Bristan closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.
