"Everybody can die," she growled, curling her legs up underneath her, "It just takes increasingly bigger guns. Maybe I can sort of... let something slip to the Doctor," she said slowly, formulating the thought even as she put it into words, "Casually. Accidentally. I'll act upset. He's a bit of a sucker for damsels in distress," she added absently. Though that probably went without saying; all the hero-types were, to some degree. Even Logan.
((Me too, actually. -_- Schooool.... Ug.))

Reaper again paused and stared at her a moment, and again gave her a small smile. "That would be something else on his to do list then. I doubt he'd get around to it. And that might solve part of whatever it is about me that puzzles him." Again, this was quite a nice change of pace. He rarely ever had a chance to have a conversation with anyone that wasn't...well...
// Yes, blah early classes. G'night! //

She thought about that. "Oh crap." Pause. "You're right." That had been the starting problem, hadn't it? Irritated, she slumped back in the armchair with her teacup. Stupid... Sorcerer Supreme... and his saving of the stupid... world.
((Night!))

"Thank you, though." Reaper said gently after a moment.

Cat blinked at him, surprised out of her scowl. "You're welcome ... Um... What are you thanking me for, again?" As far as she could tell, all she'd managed to do was bring up an unpleasant memory without providing anything that could help.

"Well, trying to help for one." he replied. "There are extremely few people who would even think about doing anything to help me, knowing what I do."

Felicia's confused look instantly transformed into a slightly crooked grin. "Yeah, well... pretty much everyone who's known me for any length of time think that I'm completely insane, so my judgment probably isn't the best." She paused for a second. "As a result... When I say that you actually seem like a really decent guy, especially considering the circumstances, you shouldn't take it as TOO much of a compliment."

Reaper smiled at her. "It will still be the most compliment I've gotten in years." he replied. "And what do you mean? They think you're insane?"

The grin widened into something thoroughly wicked. "Oh, you know. Lack of concern for my own safety and the safety of others. Nothing too spectacular." She started counting off on her fingers. "Specifically, picking fights with people who could easily kill me, stealing from people who could easily kill me, using explosives without proper precautions, teasing various emotionally unstable Superheroes-- who take themselves WAYYYY too seriously, by the way..." She trailed off, still obviously counting in her head, then blinked and shrugged. "I'm sure Spider mentioned other ones, but I usually don't make a point of listening when he's lecturing."

Reaper smirked and moved his arm to lean his head on. "Really? So you're not on the 'spotless hero' list either I take it?"

Cat snorted. "I'm not even on the 'darkly heroic' list. I'm on the..." She paused finding the perfect words. "'Arbitrarily heroic when it suits' list. It's generally to protect someone I really like, or because it's fun, or..." She shrugged. "Whatever. Actually, I think the only other person on that particular list would be Deadpool." She made a face. "How obnoxious is THAT?!"

Reaper smirk grew a bit. "My sympathies then. Though, I suppose it is nice to have your own list. Not much competition to stay in the top spot."

Cat took a sip of tea. "True enough. I'm not sure who would win in a fight, actually," she mused, "Not that I want to fight Deadpool," she added quickly, "He wouldn't even fight. He'd just... I don't know. Rig the arena with knockout gas and then sell pictures." Yep. Exactly what he'd do. Creep. Glancing back at Reaper, she set her cup down again. "So... What about where you come from? Are you the big bad, with a team of superheroes working tirelessly to take you down?" As she spoke, one of her pale eyebrows went up slightly, making it very clear that the question was an ironic one.

Reaper smiled a bit. "Well, that depends. There are quite a few super hero groups. I'm from New York City...well, my universes New York City anyway. There's only one super hero group there. And I doubt that I'm on the top of their villian list." he said, then paused a moment. "By the time I was out of the lab...well they already had a group of regular villians. And I was working for the biggest one." he said, his voice turning into a slight growl, as if he didn't like the last thought at all. He hadn't really told her who his father really was. "Though, I was 'killed' after a while, and gained new powers. This is the first time I've really gotten a chance to try everything out. The supergroup wouldn't even know who I am if I met them. Well...a few that aren't in the group might know me."

After a thoughtful second, Cat asked, "Why did you work for him? Your old boss, I mean. It's pretty obvious that you STILL hate his guts, so...?" She trailed off, her expression quizzical.
