"A king...yeah that explains why he would go after the castle. Yet why Nino? How does that fit into this? and why do I have millions of questions popping in my head?"

[It does not say his name explicitly.]

(No, I wasn't questioning that we heard his name. I ran through an info-gathering PM with someone at some point, but... well, it's probably fine. I WAS looking for "King Leander", and this is what I found when searching for his name and/or face.)
"Nine hundred years ago... yes, it is hard to believe, isn't it?" Rhys said, turning his head to Amelia. "But, it's not impossible. I know someone who's lived at least that long: Goldoa's King Deghinsea. He actually was living when the Goddess Ashunera herself walked the lands of Tellius. Granted, he was a dragon laguz himself. Nevertheless, we can't rule out the possibility that this King Leander IS, in fact, that king, in which case... yes, he thinks this land is still his land.
History mentions nothing else, though. If he were the one who spawned the monsters out there, I think something would have come up about that.
If only we could learn more about this past kingdom, or Leander... the books in our library here mentioned little, but maybe another library elsewhere could have more information, if we could find another."
EDIT: I don't think I had to fix too much after all, thank goodness.

Valter thanked Fiora for the tea. Then he heard Rhys talk about the king. "Nine hundred years... I suppose Athos and Bramimond showed us that it's possible..."

"Of course... it it wasn't Leander the book was talking about," Amelia back-tracked, "then we're at square one. No motives I can think of." She sighed and rested her elbow on the couch arm and her forehead on her palm. "Whatever the motive or case, Nino's trapped and we gotta get in there to rescue her."

Alihi frowned. "That would be odd, but it could explain things... Honestly, this makes me even more worried about Nino." She rested her hand on her chin. "How does she--" A lightbulb went on in her head.

"Not without a good strategy, Amelia." Isadora raised her voice. "We don't know much about this man except he's a powerful man to be taken down."

"Of course, Isadora," Amelia responded. "We aren't going to just charge in, blades drawn, and expected to be able to get in and out effortlessly. We'll have to be prepared..."
Amelia nodded once to Rhys' speech. "I think it might be worth it to learn more about Leander himself. Maybe it'd explain why he went right after Nino. Unless he has a homing beacon for other kingdom's leaders..." She ran a hand through her hair and finished what was left of her peppermint tea with a quiet sigh.

Alihi sighed lightly. "There has to be something we're overlooking..." She murmured to herself, resting her forehead in her hand. "But what...?"

"Of course, judging from what I've read here thus far," Rhys noted, "There might be next to nothing about Leander or the kingdom. It's possible that history fancied the old king an escape artist, and nothing more. We might not find anything worth our time. Still, I do know of a bookstore or two in the area. One is in the castle town itself, and may not be worth the risk, but there is another not far from here, further away from the castle than we are. We might reach that place, maybe get ourselves a few magic tomes on the way."

Amelia nodded. "Light tomes will definitely come in handy, and we have at least three people who can use them. Four, if Bramimond has the abilities to wield Light magic." She kept her empty mug in her hands, liking the smooth feel against her palms.
"Until then... I think we said yesterday that we were going to have a little gathering?" Amelia looked at Rhys firmly. "In the kitchen. Siegell even brought it up."

Overlord of Night- Shadow

((Yay loooooooong. ^^))
In the meanwhile, Renault had been busy doing things of his own. He'd recovered his tomes from where Tibarn had stashed them - it wasn't so hard, as he'd become attuned to their aura from carrying them around - and had then made his way to the storeroom, sniffing out a familiar magical signature. He was searching for an Amulet. Those things were difficult to find; small trinkets that had been enchanted by magic-users at some point during history to empower their spells. The way to create these had long since been lost, but there were still groups of them sitting about. And it seemed. . . Aha! Renault stopped, then stuck his hand into a pile of costume jewelry (it had apparently been here after the last Host Club party) and pulled out a pendant on a chain. That was. . . hmm, the eighth he had found so far? No, counting the one in his bag this was number nine. After a moment, the bishop drew the other out, then concentrated. With a small rush, the magic stored in the amulets drew out, then was sucked into Renault's body. The bishop sighed softly, then let the pendants drop to the floor, blending with the rest of the costume jewelry. There. That was good.
After a moment, the bishop reached out, taking hold of a staff that he'd marked earlier. What type? Well. . . nobody needed to know. He strapped that to his back; and with a twist removed the sphere from the head of the Warp Staff he'd recovered earlier and dropped it into his bag. It grew nearly impossible to carry staves if you had multiples; however, as the magic was stored in the sphere you could simply take one staff and switch out the spheres, which Renault had found was much easier. A Physic joined the first sphere, and Renault was ready now. For there was another point to this situation than the others knew.
That person. The one who hadn't shown themselves yet. He'd mentioned it to the others, but they hadn't understood; they couldn't understand if they hadn't felt what he had. Rhys had felt it, as well, but the bishop doubted that the young priest had understood the significance. The one who had created the blizzard was a danger, of course, but the other was the one who had created all these monsters. He'd slaughtered the entire village and had tried to kill all of them, while the sage had done. . . what? Freeze the castle and make some snow. He hadn't made an outright aggressive move against them yet.
By himself, Renault wasn't yet strong enough, though. Especially since the enemy's presence was enough to incapacitate him. Perhaps a Saint would be able to. . . but none since St. Elimine had the sort of ability required for that. He'd heard of a few on other continents with that level of skill - Sephiran of Tellius, for example - but Renault doubted that he himself would ever reach that level.
For now, though, back to the main room. The bishop arrived in time to hear the plans for moving back out again and sighed. More danger? Well, he should know the other members well enough to be sure that they would do so willingly by now.

The tactician nodded, hearing Rhys' idea. "Not now, though... I think it'd be best to wait until everyone got back. Can't risk more people, right?" Alihi's glance once again wandered to the window. "... Where the heck are you...? I'm worried..."

"I think a trip to the bookstore would be beneficial. We may find nothing, but on the other hand, we could learn something that would become Leander's downfall. But yes, we would need to wait for the others to return."
