Heron had to think about that question for a moment. He and his sister had been taken care of well. Their parents position in the hierarchy was the reason for that. The only problem was that it all seemed too easy. They didn't have to do much of anything aside from studies. Heron and Naelonni's boredom and mischievous behavior was born from that. They both wanted more.

After thinking for a bit Heron shakes his head, "No, I really don't miss it. I think Naelonni feels the same way. We were ecstatic when Kae'drynn excepted us. Not entirely because it is a rare honor to be chosen, but because we were getting out of the city. Our parents sent us off thinking we'd be selected for a high position when we returned. In truth neither of us want that."

Eva just managed to hold on to her bow and control the horse as first the angry one then Tali mounted behind her. The arrow was lost beneath the horse's hooves. Growling, Eva pulled the reins to turn the horse about.

"Hold on!"

Digging her heels into the horse's side, she let out a wild shout, and the already nervoues mount lept forward nearly losing all three riders in doing so. They thundered down the country-side, hopefully far away from any and all fighting. Eva threw one glance backward to see a large, fully armored individual emerge from the tavern. Recognizing the man as Tali's friend, she passed a quick prayer that Ky could lend a hand. While the three females were certainly light, more so on Tali and the angry one, the horse would not put up with a forth rider. Certainly not one so big.

It was not until much later that she wondered at her worry over a complete stranger. One who was opposing the Cathedral at that.

[I get the feeling I am skipping over someone...oh well.]

Cyrillia tilted her head, listening to him, though she didn't want to admit it she couldn't understand the high and low ranks. Within her own village they didn't have such rankings, once in awhile they'd have a Priest or someone that the people knew as honorable go through to get to the main city but nothing more than that. Cyrillia, after a great amount of thought, just figured that ranking was similar to the honor her village had known.

With that she also couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like for her had she had lived a life like Heron and his sister. She wondered if she would have been expected to do many great things, it was true her parents trained her but not because they expected her to become something with high honor but to be well-mannered and traditional. "Why would you two not want to be honorable?" she finally asked, after a moment.

He gives her a puzzled look,"Of course we want to be honorable. The thing is that my parents idea of honor differs greatly from us. They think whatever their superiors tell them to think, even if it will eventually leave our civilization in ruins. They talk and delegate, but never act. Naelonni and I want to honor our home, family, and ourselves by doing something extraordinary. Something that will have history books talk about how awesome we are, and the differences we made by our actions."

He looks down to find himself standing. He blushes a bit realizing that all he would need is a small crate to give him the full appearance. He takes his seat and takes a deep breath. Smiling again, he looks into Cyrillia's eyes, "Long story short, our leaders have long forgotten the true meaning of honor."

She giggled at him, his face had grown a simply red which made him cuter, "I'm sorry to hear about that." she now said, leaning forward a bit to look at him. "I do hope both you and your sister will be able to do just that." she grinned happily. "It would be nice to see the world change into something better! I hope you may accomplish that dream, Heron." she added enthusiastically.

Heron gives her an appreciative smile, "Thanks Cyrillia, that really means a lot to me coming from you. With all of the madness that went on in the marketplace, I never got a chance to ask you why you decided to travel here. I think I remember you saying something about being a healer. Does that mean you've come to bolster your control of the weave as well?"

She smiled shyly and looked down to her lap. "I am," she began softly. "a healer." she held a few pieces of fabric of her gown between two fingers. At first trying to understand what Heron meant by bolstering her control. Did he mean others have done such a thing? "But I would not bolster as you say." she now said, looking up to him. "Who would in such a age?" she now added, frowning by the thought.

Heron looks at her quizzically, trying to understand why she wouldn't want to bolster her gift. It then dawns on him that he had used the wrong word in his question. He is confused as to why he had done that. He is normally very well spoken and intelligent.

He chuckles, "Forgive me Cyrillia, I think I may have used the wrong word for what I was trying to ask. What I had meant to inquire was if you were looking to enhance your control, make it better than it already is?"

"Oh!" she giggled, thinking it was she who didn't understand the question. "I'm sorry. I should have listened much more closely when you spoke, Heron." she beamed at him, her smile faltered a bit and she lightly tapped her index finger on her chin thoughtfully.

Cyrillia was silent for a moment, pondering what her thoughts were back then when the Beast had appeared and she just up and decided to help. She couldn't recall even considering her abilities at the time, she had just wanted to help. "No." she finally replied. She clasped her hands together in front of her while she closed her eyes, looking as if she were going to pray, "I must admit, I didn't even think of what use I would be here. All I knew is that I wanted to help those who were suffering. I wanted so badly to watch the frowns on all those sad faces and turn them into smiling ones." she explaining, reminiscing to the people and places she had once seen during her travels.

Heron watches Cyrillia as she speaks. He places his right elbow on the table and rests his chin in it. Her ideology and innocent yet naive personal quest reminds him of the heroines he would tell Naelonni about when they were younger. With her golden hair, large compassionate eyes, and pale skin gave her the appearance of a princess.

He sighs as she finishes speaking and says, "Like an angel on a divine mission. I don't think there is anyone more suited to returning smiles to this world than you." He leans in closer to her, but in doing so his elbow slides out from under him and sends his jaw slamming into the table. He sits upright, holding his mouth in both hands. He shouts in his mind a desperate question as to why these things keep happening to him.

Cyrillia gasped as his jaw slammed into the table and threw her hands over her mouth lightly, "My! Heron, are you alright?" she now asked, taking a deep breath as she leaned forward to make sure he hadn't injured himself. She brought her hand up towards where his hands were and gently placed them on his, sliding them down so she could inspect his jaw much more closely to make sure everything was alright.

She ran her other hand softly along his face, "Nothing feels out of place does it, Heron?" she asked him sweetly, bringing her bright emerald eyes up to look at his whole face rather than just his jaw. "It look like a pretty rough hit." she added.

Heron's face becomes warm to the touch as it becomes deeply flushed. He finds himself muttering nonsense for a bit as she runs her hands along his face. As much as he tried, and as lecherous as his actions tend to be, this is the closest he has ever gotten to a woman. Now that he is here he doesn't know what to do.

This time, rather than listen to his hormone driven inner voice, he acts upon his feelings. He places his hand on the one she has on his face and grips it lightly. He says in a quiet voice, not quite a whisper, "I feel much better now." He takes her other hand and holds it within his. His cyan eyes looks directly into her emerald ones, his heart beating heavily against his chest. He wishes he could say something else, but words fail him at this moment.

She smiled cutely at him in response to him. "I'm glad than." she whispered softly to him, a small giggle following after. She then noticed his face growing a nice shade of red and wondered if he were perhaps getting a fever. "Heron?" she asked, feeling his hand take her own in a warm grip that she was unfamiliar with.

Cyrillia tilted her head to the side, allowing a few sweet golden pieces of her hair to sway along her pale face to now dangling at her side. "Are you well?" she now asked him, feeling that perhaps he were catching a cold or possibly a flu from the way he appeared in front of her. She added cheerfully, "I do hope not, Heron."

Heron smiles euphorically at her, "I've never felt better. I'm looking into the eyes of an angel." He could feel the lump in his throat getting bigger as he slowly brings his face closer to hers. This is it, he thinks, I'm finally going to have my first kiss. This feels incredible, nothing like I had imagined it being.

He allows his lips to part just slightly as his eyes close. He could almost feel her lips touch his even though they were still a ways apart from each other.

Cyrillia, not knowing what he was doing or even thinking, took hold of his hand which held hers and brought it in between them and in front of her face cheerfully. "Heron!" she began, now clasping her hands around his. "I had wanted to ask you before but I had forgotten." she swayed hers and his hand to the side and looked around them with a cute smile. "Are you a sorcerer or something? I noticed a lot of magic within the area of the marketplace earlier."

She inclined her head back slightly and released his hand so she could tap her chin thoughtfully with her index finger, her eyes darted up to the ceiling as if her answer were there. "Though it could have all been from the young man who was looking for his ring." she now brought her gaze back to him. "He seemed rather powerful. What did you think?"
