England--Still trying to figure out how it's possible to be a country and a noodle, but hey, I'm willing to accept some things, I guess. He's pretty nice; I think I'll stick around with him once I emerge.
America--Okay, I can figure out how a country becomes a noodle, if I think about it enough. But a colony?! How does that happen?! Oh well. He's sillier, but he seems to be England's lover (which, on reflection, makes less sense), so I guess I'll be stuck with him if I hang out with England.

Jamie’s Story
[SIGH] Personally, I don’t think this is any of your business, but if someone’s going to tell you, it should be me. If you don’t agree, GO SCREW YOURSELF.
I was born in Port Royal in Jamaica, so my parents saw fit to name me Jamaica when I was about two or so (you never name kids as soon as they’re born, that’s just a waste of time if they’re just going to keel over of small pox). I was never interested in girly stuff like dolls and dresses as a kid. …Okay, okay, I admit it, I’m lying, but I wasn’t interested for long! Stories about adventures always interested me more; I’d rather be practicing fighting moves I saw from some boys fighting in the street than be working on a sampler.
My favorite stories were about the ocean. I mean, come on, it’s right there. There’s something inescapable about the ocean, something that can’t be felt about anything else. It’s so full of life and adventure, every visit to the same patch of ocean different. It always changes, and I loved that. What I didn’t like where all those tiresome stories about how girls were “bad luck” and it was better to swear at God than let a woman aboard (okay, okay, I’m exaggerating, I admit it). So when I was fourteen, about the age a boy might start trying to be a cabin boy, even if he had to lie about his age, I disguised myself as a boy, cut my strawberry blond hair, called myself Jamie, and signed onto a ship. It turned out to be a pirate ship, but so much the better!
For two years, it looked like everything was going as planned on Operation: Prove That Girls Aren’t Bad Luck…until…well, the bad luck started showing up. For the record, I did not mean to wash the cat overboard. I love cats! So the hurricane was not my fault! Nor was the attack by the giant squid! I was just a victim of circumstance, that’s all!
In fact, I think it was a good thing I was onboard, because I was the smartest damn person among the crew. When us survivors got dragged before Squid-Face himself, Davy Jones, the rest of them got killed. I, however was, smart—or cowardly—enough to take him up on his offer.
What followed was many harrowing years pretending to be a boy. I won’t go into how I avoided all the pitfalls I could have fallen into—except I might, for a drink, tell the story about the day my stomach and intestines turned into Wyvern—or how I got discovered as a girl. I don’t want to talk about it.*
But I got discovered, and the captain didn’t like that. I jumped ship as soon as I could, and I’ve been on the run since then. …Please don’t tell my old crewmates I’m here? D8
Now, as for the fact that I came to the shop as a bowl…not quite as long a story, but it’s still sort of embarrassing. You see, I had decided to wander through Florida in my attempts to avoid old…“friends.” Only I ran into a bit of trouble at the Fountain of Youth. Yes. It exists. It’s got undead Spaniards up the arse—Spaniards! Bloody hell! I hate ‘em!—and there’s nothing more difficult to wade through besides undead Spanish conquistadors**, even if you’re an undead pirate. Eventually, though, I managed to get to the Fountain itself, and wouldn’t you know it? There are more guards, most especially the Spiritual Guardian of the Fountain of Youth.
I forget his name. In fact, everything got fuzzy after that. I…I think I pissed off the Guardian…I think I called him an ugly alligator-bugger. Something like that. He didn’t like that, though, so he held my head underwater in the fountain. I wasn’t too worried—I’m dead, drowning is a little impossible—but that wasn’t the point. The point was that I swallowed so much of the Agua de Vida that I got changed back into a bowl. Embarrassing. Very embarrassing. So the Guardian ordered an egret to carry me here, and here I am.
I can’t wait to get my adult body back!
*My friend “Maniac” and I are still arguing about it. She wants it to be a slip-up on Jamie’s part, but I think it should be someone she knew as a kid recognizing her and calling her Jamaica and wondering aloud why she is doing a “man’s work.”
**Shaddap. There are always undead baddies in PotC, and for PotC 4, I vote for undead conquistadors. Who get eaten by alligators in the end.

About: Amadi's exact history is unknown; Jamie suspects that he was the familiar of one of her former crewmates (possibly one once held in some sort of slavery; see below) and, for some reason he won't reveal, he's tracked her down to join her. He's certainly rebellious enough for this theory.
His personality's a little harder to pin down. He's a goofball and enjoys insulting and bothering people, but when he's angered or offended, his idiotic pretense is dropped and he becomes a serious, homicidal, cunning...undead thingy. Subjects sure to set him off: slavery, poachers, slavery, rich snobs, slavery, arrogant people, slavery, and slavery.
