Lifting a brow at this bit of news, Julian once again felt a reluctant smile curve his lips.
"A vampiric angel...an odd combination. Though it makes sense as to why you would be attracted to the both the suns and the moons rays." he answered softly, once again pushing away from the wall.
"And were you headed anywhere in particular, Solaria?" he asked.

Solaria smirked once more. She mirrored Julian's movements and pushed herself away from the wall as well. "Vampiric angel, angelic vampire. Take your pick. It doesn't matter to me."

At his question, she shrugged. "Nowhere really. I just decided to explore the castle. This place is very vast. I'm pretty much new here, and most people did say...the easiest way to explore a new place is to get lost." She sighed, then smiled, "So, here I am. Getting myself lost."

Marshall jumped when the door hit the frame and emitted a loud yelp. He wasn't used to such things and instinctively drew the knife from his boot. He ended up crouch on the bed, looking at Seth with slight bewilderment.
"Geeze! What'd ya do that for?" he asked, sliding the knife back into it's sheath. "Tryin' to kill me?" He reached out to soothe Bella, only to find that the cat hadn't even stirred. Lucky her that she wasn't even bothered by a slamming door. Looking back up at Seth, he frowned. "Can I have a bath now?" he asked, unable to keep the hopeful note out of his tone.

Unsure of what to say or how to react around the girl now he simply shrugged.
"If you continue the way you are currently going you will go out to the back of the castle and the cliffs...granted that you don't stray from your path." he added. Frowning he turned and moved in the direction of his own chambers.
Pausing only for a moment to turn back to her.
"If you'd like you can accompany me to...." Julian broke off as the sound of a yelp echoed throughout the castle and sighed. He didn't want to know, he decided, he just didn't. The voice hadn't belonged to his sister nor his father as he wasn't to concerned about it. Shrugging it off he once again returned his attention to Solaria.
"As I was saying, you may accompany me to my quarters and I can point you in the direction of various things on our way, if you like."

Suppressing his laughter Seth simply smiled and nodded his head.
"Yes, follow me. What is it to be first, food or bath?" he asked, amused as he turned and strode toward the doorway once again.

Marshall was about to say bath, but his stomach made a loud grumbling noise in protest. He hadn't eaten any real food in at least a week. With this in mind, he sighed.
"Food first, I guess." he said, sliding off the bed. He figured that Bella would be safe enough here by herself. With one last glance in her direction, he made his way toward Seth and the door. "How many people live here? It seems too big for just you.."

Solaria hesitated for a moment, wondering about the loud yelp was heard. She chuckled lightly and muttered to herself, "This place sure is something."

Turning her attention back to Julian, she smiled. She took a few steps forward before nodding at him. "I would like that very much, thank you." She walked ahead of Julian, starting to hum again, but then abruptly stop.

"Well, lead the way." she said, grinning.

Chuckling, Seth shrugged and motioned for the boy to follow. He led the way to the vast dining hall and looked ignoring the monstrous table that curved against the far side of the room, he made his way to the east wall. There tucked rather cozily into the corner was a small banquet table, and a rather generous tray of various foods. Motioning toward it, he sank into the chair opposite from the tray, waiting.

Watching her, Julian actually struggled not to laugh, the girl was a definite oddity and he still wasn't quite sure what to think of her. Striding forward, he went to brush past her and paused. Looking over at her, he looked her over, his pale blue eyes darkening slightly.
"You should not be so trusting." he whispered, his voice holding a slight edge. He spoke softly as he was only a few scant inches away from her. he debated with himself for a moment, wandering if perhaps he should give her an example of what he meant.

Any other time, Marshall would have tried for manners. This time, he was too hungry to care. Sinking into the chair that Seth had motioned to, he started picking this from the tray and shoving them into his mouth. Generally he only ate fish and meat, but this time, he even took a few bites of the bread that was resting on the tray to one side. Most of the rest was cuts of various types of meat. He recognized a few of the cuts as being fowl and deer native to the area. These he tried last, so that he could get acquainted with their taste. This way, he might know which animals to hunt for later, when he was allowed to roam a bit. He was stuffed by the time the tray was mostly empty. Looking up at Seth, he gave him a half smirk.
"That was great." he said. "You never did answer my question..how many other people live here?" While he waited for Seth to answer, he took the opportunity to look around the dining hall. The room was huge, with a enormous curved table stretching along one wall. He figured that the table was large enough and had enough placements for a small army to sit at comfortably. The rest of the room was adorned much like the rest of the castle that he'd seen already, with tapestries and paintings, statues and sculptures. To Marshall, it was like stepping into on of his mother's reading novels. He'd never learned how to read, but she'd often talked with him about remodeling her home to look like the old castles in the books she read. If they really had looked like this, he'd never, ever, help her with such a thing. That would just be too much work!

Watching as the scrawny teen packed away the food like he was a bottomless pit, Seth flashed a quick grin. At least the boy had an appetite, he thought quietly.
"Several...I haven't taken count in a while. The number changes rather frequently as this is called the Dark Haven for a reason. It is a haven for immortals, a place where they can seek refuge." he explained when he saw the boys look. Reaching out he took the remainder of the bread and broke it in half, munching on one half he held the other half out to the boy.
"Eat a bit more of this please, dragon or not, you still need a bit more than meat. Trust me I should know."

Marshall balked at having to eat more bread, but took it from Seth and did so anyway. It actually felt nice to be full for once. The hunger was something Marshall could easily ignore when he had to, but it was a pain to have to deal with hunger pains. When Seth said that there were several people living in the castle, he frowned.
"Really?" he asked. "So...where are they then?" He glanced around again. "Who are they?" Hopefully no one that might see me as a snack..

Seth shrugged, in truth he didn't know where everyone was.
"There are too many to keep track off and I don't feel like listing them all. Though I can tell you that some are not here at the moment. You will meet the ones that matter in time." he said polishing off his half of the bread. Finally returning his gaze to the boy, he easily read the worry there.
"Relax, none of them will harm you." he reassured softly. Taking a deep breath he brushed back his long ponytail.
"Now...plans for you. For now I suppose you will stay here with me. I'll teach you how to shift to your true form for starters...some of your powers that have probably developed. Polish your fighting skills...if it turns out you have the same love for the water that I do, perhaps I'll show you how to sail." he muttered quietly talking to himself more than the kid fro a moment.
"I imagine you have questions. Feel free to ask them, I'll try to answer honestly and as best as I can, though I expect the same courtesy from you. There are few rules in this house but the main two you need to worry about is one, you will be respectful, to myself and to Master Lucid, who I shall introduce you too later. Two, you do not steal from the castle or it's inhabitants. Understood?" he asked quietly.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 10, 2008 11:44 pm

Marshall kept quiet for a long moment, considering those two rules. They sounded reasonable, he supposed. Besides, if he was going to stay here, it wasn't 'stealing'. He considered that 'borrowing'. Giving Seth a nod to show he'd heard the rules and understood them, he leaned back in his chair.
"You really believe that I'm a demon, don't you?" he asked, not all sure he wanted to know the answer to that.

"Yes." Seth answered him easily, absolute certainty in his voice. The boy was a water dragon demon, even if he had something else mixed in with it, though they would have to wait and see about that.
"Why are you so set against being one?" he asked curiously.
