Yeah, see, the show is set in modern-day Canada--Alberta, I think. But in each episode Nick, or occasionally one of the other vampires, has a flashback to a memory that is somehow similar to what is going on at the time in the episode. So for the comic, the vampires (Nick & Jeanette) have memories sparked off by seeing the TARDIS, and they are remembering when they last saw it--namely medieval France. There may also be parallels between the modern case & what happens in the castle.
