M.A. seemed to brighten up when Mitsu said she wasn't leaving and happily gestured broadly to her family walking towards the two. There was Mr. Jim Rustings, a large man with once-dirty-blonde-but-now-graying but full head of hair; Miah Rustings, a woman who looked far younger than she was and could've passed as M.A.'s older sister but with rust-colored hair and a sort of fragility to her; and of course Michael [whom will be called by his middle named, Saebum], the tall one. She introduced them respectively as her father, her mother, and her brother, and them introduced Mitsu to them.

"Good to meet you, Mitsu," her father asked, shaking her hand vigorously. Mrs. Rustings tapped his shoulder and he released his hold. Her handshake was much more delicate.

"Teams, teams," Sae pondered aloud, tapping his chin. "How 'bout five on five? Why don't we have the youngin's (namely M.A., Mitsu, myself) against the senior citizens over there?"

Mr. Rustings grinned wolfishly. "That a challenge, son? Fine, but to even the numbers, we'll be borrowing Grace and Spade."

Sae whistled. "All-star team right there. Well that's fine. And for our team... Why don't both of you choose one Pokemon?"

"Wait, Mitsu, do you have any questions? We've been going through this kinda quick," the youngest of the family said, looking at her friend.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 4:25 pm

Mitsu smiled as she gave them each a good handshake. Three pumps like she'd been taught in school. "It's nice to meet you all. I'm Mitsu from Mossdeep," she said a little bit shyly. The family looks quite happy together and the picture made her smile. Mitsu smiled at Sae, "Nice to meet you," she said singling him out of the family.

Karri smile and pushed Mitsu causing her to blush even though it was nothing like that at all. "Dammit Karri," Mitsu muttered to herself. The Psychic Pokemon laughed to herself and greeted the whole family through telepathy.

"Yeah, I do have a question," Mitsu laughed nervously, "How do you play?"

Sae had nodded congenially and smiled in response. The family was a bit surprised by Karri's telepathy but took it in stride. "Uh, I'm not so good at explaining things, Sae..." M.A. said, tilting her head to glance at her older brother.

"Don't worry, I got it. You'd confuse people somehow, anyways," he said with a roguish, warm grin at his two teammates. "So Mitsu, it's pretty simple. It's a lot like football, except there's no down-town and only a handful of rules. No tackle, we'll keep it touch stops today. Our goal is over there--" he stopped here to point at a trash-can some distance away, "and we can do pretty much anything to get it there. Meanwhile, the senior team has their goal at that volleyball net. Yeah, that seems about the right size. Oh! Only catch is, if you're passing, you gotta pass backwards. When you're tagged, stop running. Anything else you need to know?"

"Our team is myself, my wife, Grace here (the Mantine), Spade (the Linoone), and Bud Jr. (a Kabuto)," Mr. Rustings said, as clarification.

Aww, it's Bud Jr. M.A. thought to herself, smiling. But was that a last resort choice for a teammate? It didn't seem like the baby Kabuto could do much in this case. Then again, his father, Bud Sr., would pop the ball on impact.

Kilik's fist clenched tightly. This was definitely a bad sign. Anyone who was anyone knew just how much the boy hated Psychic-moves, Psychic Pokemon, and anything related to Psychics. Even trainers who had psychic powers were pretty high up on his hate list. There were few things in this world that Kilik hated more than Psychics. "Fight it, Elekid!" he barked.

The attack connected, luckily for the plug, but the attack didn't do as much damage as he hoped. Why, you may ask? The moment he hit, he didn't have time to linger for he was tossed a few feet back. Elekid crashed into the ground, landing multiple times as if he were a ragdoll. Standing up slowly, the baby clenched his fists.

Alright, you wanna play it that way? Kilik thought, closing his eyes. A sigh escaped him and he could hear it echo in his ears. Suddenly, he felt himself wobble a bit and his heart rate shot up. He panted slightly before relaxing. He stood still, his eyes still closed. However, he could see. Kilik was now seeing through the eyes of his Elekid. Maybe it would give him some help in the situation - not that anyone knew what he was doing. "Elekid. Use Quick Attack!" With a nod, Elekid broke into a run, much faster than any before, a streak of white light behind him, aiming straight for Napalm. A smirk appeared on his tiny lips.

For the second time in about twenty five minutes Kasiya nearly jumped out of her skin, wheeling around and preparing to swing her fists. She managed to stop herself though when she realized who it was that was standing there. "Keegan," she mumbled, her voice coming out a little more squeaky than she meant it to be. "I-I..." she started, unsure of what to say. She somehow doubted he wouldn't believe her even if she did tell him what had just happened. "I... I had a bad dream," she said finally, tears welling up in her eyes. "Nothing was as it should be and I didn't know where you were..." She sniffled a bit, wiping her face with the back of her hand. "I was just so scared!" However, her last sentence was a little garbled as a sob got in the way of most of the words, and she threw her arms around Keegan's neck, crying pretty hard. By now, everyone in the Pokemon Center were staring at the two, but Kasiya didn't care. After a moment or two she calmed down a bit, still clinging tightly to the redhead. "Where are my Pokemon?" she asked quietly, dreading the answer.

Mike raised an eyebrow at Kilik's rising blood pressure. What a strange boy. Not as strange as me though. Heehee. The boy giggled, quite amused at his own quirks. Narcissism aside, he refocused on the battle, knowing his Pokemon would be furious with him if he were to be caught daydreaming during his 'big rematch'. While he enjoyed the Magby's enthusiasm, he did hope that the two would eventually put aside their differences, all this childish squabbling would someday hurt rather than help. After hearing for his opponent to use a Quick Attack, Mike decided to let his Pokemon take the hit and retaliate when he wasn't dealing with the strain of getting smacked into. The major reason for that would be that before Mike could call out for his counter, Napalm was kicked in the side by the Electric Pokemon.

"Alright," The boy called out, somewhat flustered at his slow reaction time. "Let's show him your new move." A giddy, somewhat girlish flurry of stomps preceded the command for an Overheat, Mike barely able to contain his excitement.

What a perfect attack to blast that Elekid into the stratosphere. Napalm let out a shrill cry, his body practically exploding in heat. As the Magby became wreathed in scorching flames, he lifted his hands in the air. The fire surrounding him spiraled upward, forming the trademark Overheat fireball. That blasted sparkplug in his sights, Napalm lowered the flaming sphere in front of his face with one strong burst of fire, sent it flying towards the enemy.

Kilik's lip twitched slightly. Seeing the Overheat come at him through Elekid's eyes was a bit nerve wracking and he could feel his hands start shaking. He cleared his mind and swiped the air with his arm. "Elekid, go left!" His eyes were still closed, and his body was finally calm. Elekid moved in motion with Kilik, and did a flashy backflip to dodge the oncoming Overheat. He could feel the heat crash against the ground and it was almost blistering. He held his arms up to block his face. Kilik did as well, and he immediately felt a bead of sweat trickle down his temple.

The trainer looked, or more so just turned his head, to the side, raising an eyebrow. This made Elekid move as well. He was looking for a possible weak point. "Alright, Elekid. Use Quick Attack one more time. Hang left." The moment Elekid made his move, Kilik opened his eyes and sighed heavily. The boy began panting and sweat dripped off his nose. He placed his hands on his thighs and gulped. I didn't know...it would take so much out of me. Kilik looked up.

As Elekid moved, the light faded and faded copies of himself appeared behind him. Understanding what his trainer said, he went for the left side of Napalm. Did Kilik see something he didn't?

"You Kilik, you okay?" Mike was starting to notice the boy's labored posture. It was a little concerning, but nothing that couldn't wait until after the battle. Mental note.

Napalm was utterly furious at his opponent dodging with such an annoyingly flashy maneuver. How dare he be so disrespectful! So rude! So utterly infuriating! The Live Coal Pokemon practically cracked the ground beneath him as he stomped in a childish tantrum. Flames practically shot out in every direction as the grass even remotely around him incinerated instantly. Needing nor waiting for any command from his trainer, he waited for the Electric Pokemon to charge before charging up another Overheat. He didn't care that the last attack drained him somewhat, he had to show this punk not to take him lightly. Not to mention, he couldn't let that snot to show him up. He loaded the fireball and set it loose.

Mike sighed. This was exactly what he was talking about with the whole 'hurt rather than help' thing. Sure, he was going to assign that move anyway, but to attack without receiving a command at such a crucial point in his training was not something the Lavaridge boy liked.

Kasiya's sudden outburst totally caught him off-guard (again) and for a moment, Keegan just stood there while she cried into his shoulder. "You're such a spaz," he said finally, taking her in his arms and sighing. "It was just a dream, everything's all right now," he told her, trying to sound reassuring. He paid little attention to the other patrons of the Pokemon Center, his concern resting only with Kasiya. "We gave our Pokemon to the nurse, remember?" he said, tilting his head to try and look at her. "I got mine back when I went to check on Sheena and Sheridan just now, and yours are still with the nurse. Right?"

"That's right," the nurse said nervously, pushing a tray with six Pokeballs forward. "They're right hear, dear."

"There, see?" he said. "We're all here, safe and sound. There's no need to worry."
=====
The Sentret seemed to have changed its opinion of the Mareep after being hit by the electric attack, as it now appeared to be backing off a little. Sparkle had other ideas though, as she charged forward, without waiting for an order from Miharu. Very suddenly bolts of static seemed to cover the sheep, and for a moment it looked as though she were going to use a Spark attack. Then, something unusual happened. The Pokemon rose up on her hind legs, looking much different than she had only a moment ago. She was larger, and her body was now pink in colour and missing fluff in quite a few places. Miharu just stared for a moment, smiling when she realized her Mareep had just evolved into a Flaaffy. The electric type then proceeded to blast her target with another Thundershock, letting out a loud bleat of victory as the Sentret fell.

Kasiya turned her tear-stained gaze towards the front desk, still sniffling as she saw the nurse with her all-too familiar Pokeballs resting in them. With another bit of a sob she broke away from Keegan and rushed over to them, practically hugging each one to her chest before putting them onto her belt. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper as she nodded to the nurse and turned back to Keegan. "I'm sorry... this whole evening has been such a blur I can barely remember any of it," she said, forcing a smile and hoping it sounded truthful enough. "Will we ever have just a quiet evening not full of excitement?"

She gave a heavy sigh and sat down on the same couch she'd awoken on, looking up at Keegan as she tried to keep a smile on. But it wasn't a dream... she thought, feeling her insides knot. I was in Mai's body, and I'm supposing Mai was in mine. If she can pull off acting like me then nobody would probably even know the difference... and with all the surveillance stuff Team Rocket has access to.... She sighed again, feeling like she might be sick. Somehow she felt incredibly violated. This time, Keegan's soft smile wasn't even enough to cheer her up, and for a moment she was very angry with him for not being able to tell the difference. "Say Keegan," she said after a moment or two (and deciding that she had hit him enough for one day), "I uh, I'm sorry if I acted a little strangely back there, with Sheena and stuff." It was a start; as maybe he could tell her just how Mai was acting for the short time their minds had been swapped.

Mitsu took a good look at the Pokemon. The Mantine looked pretty much like the others she had seen at her home, the Linoone's coat held a healthy sheen, and the Kabuto merely puzzled her. It could play the football-like beach rugby the Rustings were speaking of? It didn't quite make sense. Oh well, the purple haired girl decided it'd soon make sense somehow her gut feelings were telling her.

The rules were simple enough though Mitsu, being her less sporty self still had a few questions. "Pass backwards?" she questioned Sae. "I'm not sure I understand that rule." She smiled sheepishly for it was probably a simple task and her brain was just having one of it's oddly normal malfunctions. That or she was just dumb. But she ruled out the last option because she obviously wasn't.

Karri smiled warmly glad her telepathy did not scare any of the Rustings as it sometimes did to other people. "I'm going to guess teleporting the ball to the goal would be an illegal move?" Karri asked in general, slightly amused with the idea of leading the younger team to victory single-handly. "If it is, I'm pretty sure it is, then I'll have to sit this one out." She wasn't quite the fastest Pokemon when it came to merely running, or floating in this case.

"Probably not," Keegan sighed, deciding to sit down on the couch beside her. "I can't recal a single uneventful day since I left home," he admitted, scratching his head thoughtfully. The next few moments passed by in silence, as Kasiya seemed to be deep in thought. At least she's acting like herself again, he mused. "It's a good thing your battle with Flannery isn't until tomorrow morning," he said, temporarily ignoring her apology and putting his arm around her. "You probably would have spazzed out on her." He chuckled a bit. "You just seemed different," he said after a nother thoughtful moment or two. "I dunno, it's hard to explain." He didn't know how to word it. It was like she was there but wasn't at the same time, but that sounded ridiculous. "Maybe we should just have an early night?" he suggested finally. "My parents have offered to let you stay at our house for the night. Sheena's taken the couch, but you can have my bed. I don't mind, really." He didn't have to be a mind-reader to know she would object, but he decided to stand firm on this. "And besides, I insist." He stood up, holding out a hand to help her up.

"See, if you could pass forward, towards your goal," Sae explained, taking a hand and waving it towards the soda can in the distance, "people would just chuck it to cherry-pickers over there; since catching it is the same as picking it up, they'd have no problem getting an easy score. So that's why you can only make passes backwards, although you don't want to get it so far back that you have to run more."

The boy then paused on Karri's question. "We've never had that issue before," he said with a short laugh. "But I guess that would be illegal... Besides, your reading minds would never let the other team get the ball. Sorry, maybe we'll get a team of Psychic types to go play football one day, but then it'd practically become an invisible game..." He finished with an apologetic smile.

"Playin' to... let's say first to four points," Mr. Rustings said with his rumbling, loud voice. "Hurry up and get your Pokemon out, we're ready over here!"

M.A. grinned and released Daemyn. "You never played this before, but you've definitely seen us, right? Now's the time you get to get those two back and actually attack," she said, winking. "Mitsu~ since we're playing with Pokemon, they're allowed to use moves that can get them the ball or stop the other side, but nothing too serious."

They all waited for Mitsu to choose her Pokemon, leaving the teams even with five on five. "Elders first," Sae said with a jaunty grin.

"You'll regret that," Mr. Rustings said with a devious smirk. Evidently these two were the competitive ones.

Mrs. Rustings stood behind as they all lined up football style. "Ready, steady, 1 2 3 here it goes!" she said, whooping it backwards to her husband.

"Go tag 'im!"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 10:07 pm

"Ahh, that makes enough sense," Mitsu laughed a bit sheepishly for asking such a dumb question. "Okay, so let's play!" she said more enthusiasticaly this time. "C'mon out Ivy!" In a shower of sparks from the Pokeball the Ivysaur appeared. It shook it's leaves and bud out happily to get some real air.

"We're playing beach rugby," Mitsu said before delving into the explaination as briefly as possibly. "Ivy won't disappoint!" Mitsu assured before they took off running to join thier teammates. Ivy took off running headlong at Mr. Rustings as soon as the game began while Mitsu hung back a little, slightly unsure of what to do.

"I'm sorry," Kasiya said again. "There's so much happing all of a sudden and I'm a bit anxious. Plus that Sheena girl is really annoying," she added with a chuckle. As the minutes passed she slowly began to feel better, but she couldn't shake that gross, dirty feeling she had. She simply smiled and nodded at the offer to spend the night at Keegan's house, although she did feel bad about taking his bed from him. She took his hand and stood up slowly, suppressing the tears that were threatening to spill again. "Okay, let's go." She made sure nothing had been left behind as they left the Pokemon Center. Tomorrow will be a better day, she told herself. I just have to concentrate and maybe it won't happen again.

It was nice to get back outside again, and to be honest she didn't feel as tired as she initially had and it was still early, only about nine o'clock. Perhaps if she could she would head back outside later and do a bit of training. For now, she let Keegan lead the way, even though she knew the way back.
