"Hi Haradhel!" Lin waved happily and looked back at Serenity with a wide grin.

Any wider and it might split her face open from the looks of it, she pointed straight at Haradhel with a grin.

"Now you can give Mommy advice," she told Serenity seriously.

"If it makes you feel any better," Donovan murmured to Haradhel, "That would be his mother, and Lin have you been talking to anyone recently."

He was becoming very suspicious of this Mommy advice.

"Uhm.... grandma likes to take Mommy out for tea," Lin giggled, "But she didn't say what, she said girl talk and then chuckled and then they went for tea."

Cindy coughed at that bit of news, so that's where Lin kept getting these ideas. She was kind of amused at that.

"Well," she murmured to Serenity, "Are you feeling better?"

Serenity smiled, an actual real smile, and nodded at Cindy's question. "Much," she murmured softly; then, releasing Elrohir, she studied Haradhel curiously. She was rather fond of the woman already, she had heard the joking tone in her voice when she had questioned Elrohir.

"You, then, are my daughter-in-law, aren't you," she smiled, still slightly dazed. "I'm ... pleased to meet you ... though surprised, I have to admit ..."

"Haradhel," Haradhel smiled, nodding and stepping forward. "I didn't know you were here ... when did you arrive?"

"Before we go any further," Elrohir broke in, "why don't we all go downstairs for something to drink? I think ... some of us need something." He raised one eyebrow and nodded at his mother, then started ushering everyone to the door.

Haradhel nodded. "Good idea," she agreed. "Besides that, it's a bit crowded in there." She laughed softly and started leading the way downstairs to the dining room.

"Yay!" Lin grinned, "Good now everything is all better," she nodded settling back into the crook of Elros' arm.

It was only then that Donovan noticed that Lin managed to cling on to yet another person. Well, he supposed if Elros didn't mind the little girl, she seemed to be able to cling onto a lot of people.

"And what have you been up to?" he asked Lin as they headed back downstairs.

"Asking questions," Lin grinned, "And listening, and talking."

Elros chuckled at Lin and smiled at Donovan. "She's really quite charming," he told him honestly. "It's refreshing to find someone who isn't full of prejudice. To be honest, the only reason I agreed to work here was because of its multiplicity. Southlanders, Westlanders, and especially as Ulani and Ulrich are the way they are ... though I do believe it is a noble thing you're doing here."

He was after all also doing it for the children.

Serenity followed Haradhel willingly, though she still wasn't sure if she knew exactly what was going on. Rather than confront her uncertainties, she turned to Cindy and asked, "Can you tell me how Elnara's doing? It's been a long time since I've heard from her ..."

Cindy blinked and looked at Serenity thoughtfully, "How long is long? Were you at Ulani and Ulrich's when she, Lore and the children visited?"

Since that was the last visit she could recall Elnara made to the Borderlands at all.

"That's good," Donovan replied, "I'm never sure how people take Lin, especially here. Home is a very different and she's been known to stalk people in attempts to get them to get use to her."

Though Donovan had to admit, he hadn't thought of it that way when it came to the Ranch. Frankly he didn't care what sort of elf worked here as long as they didn't mind him, the unusualness that was the ranch and could do their job.

"But Luthien said it would work," Lin protested.

Serenity giggled, and felt much better for it. "Of course I was, it was when they brought me home again," she reminded Cindy. "That was when Idhril was born ... it's amazing how that happens." She smiled dreamily, then turned her attention back to Cindy. "But that was the last time I saw any of them. How are they all doing? How long has it been for you? Here it's been fifteen years ..."

Elros blinked at Lin, though his face was once again expressionless. "I think we could avoid a great many misunderstandings," he murmured softly, "if you would explain just what it is you are talking about."

He still wasn't quite certain he knew what she had been talking about outside, but the time for questions about that had passed.

Cindy nodded, there had been so many visits going back and forth it was hard to keep track of it all.

"They are doing fine, both Mom and Elnara have one more child. Elnara's is a boy, his name is Silvrendir," she murmured thoughtfully, "It's been several months since then I think."

Lin looked up, "Well... Luthien is Earendil's Mommy and she told me that if I stuck around Earendil's Daddy long enough he would get use to me."

Which she thought was completely logical, though no one else would know why.

Serenity smiled. "That makes seven now ... she's going to catch up to me before she's even married." She laughed. "Oh, and speaking of which, how is Lore doing?"

Elros blinked at Lin, then looked at Donovan. "Would you care to explain, sir?" he requested politely. "She's not making any sense to me at all ... though I imagine it might help if I knew who these people were, and where they were, and what her relation to all of them was."

Haradhel led everyone into the dining room and beckoned for them to take a seat, but declined from sitting herself.

"What would everyone like?" she asked, putting her hands behind her back. "We've got water, ale, wine, cider, milk," she ticked them off on her fingers, "tea, coffee ... um ..."

Cindy giggled, "He's doing fine, working, staying with Elnara, helping with the children, the last time I checked he was trying to figure out a way to propose."

She mused on this and laughed softly.

"It seems a lot of people have couplings on the brain."

"Juice!" Lin replied with glee.

"In order words, cider for her," Donovan added, "I'll just have water."

Since he didn't really like milk, he didn't need the caffinee from tea or coffee and he wasn't up to drinking. As he considered Elros' question he then explained.

"Several years ago I left to go hunting for Serenity's tormentors with Triton and his brother Yue. We left from the palace in the captial city, Lin had followed me but I had left by the time she managed to find her way inside the castle."

Omitting portals and the like and riddle talking kirins.

"They actually have more relation to Serenity and Elrohir than to Lin. To put it shortly, Ruel is one of Serenity's sons and those that would deny all conntection to his mother and sister because they can change shape. Luthien is his wife and they had three children. Earendil is their middle child though he's beyond a full grown man by now, and Lin loves to hang around him. She stalks Ruel under this impression that if she does it enough then he'll get use to her and stop trying to shoo her off. He doesn't take to differences that well," Donovan shrugged, "Lin spends a lot of time in the castle when she can, she just likes hanging around there."
