If you're going through Hell,
Keep on going.
Hmph. Vlasia gazed at her with unwavering eyes, looking her up and down with a restrained irritation. Order members should be quizzed on dragon behavior before given a dragon. It was only fair to the little creatures.

...not that Vlasia was positive that she knew what was wrong, but she had an idea.

She gently took the little dragon from the girl's hands as Stolz hopped and half-glided back to his owner, landing beside her and giving a friendly chirp to the new dragon. Vlasia reached t'wards her hip, pulling out a small pouch. Stolz got very excited. Smiling slightly, the Aspera daughter pulled out bits of dried fruit and meat, giving a few pieces to her own dragon before setting the other pieces on her lap for the other one to consume. "Go on, little one. Is this what you want?" she voiced. Food, and a new friend. Two things dragons reveled in.

Her burgundy eyes wandered back up to the girl's. "I'm supposing that he is a hatchling? They are often quite hungry not too long after coming out of their egg..."

Regi watched her dragon carefully, eyes narrowing in concentration. Treyna for his part, sniffed at the food and took a tentative nibble, as if trying to be polite, but didn't cease his crying.

"He hatched about a day ago," Regi replied, voice distant. "I've been feeding him regularly and giving him water. He's not hurt that I can see." Tapping her chin thoughtfully, Regi held out her other hand for Treyna, who hopped back to her before scurrying up her arm to hide in her hair.

"He seemed fine until we got into what would've been scenting distance for him," she murmured. "Maybe that's the problem and he just hates some smell around here?" Feeling helpless in the face of this mystery, Regi began to chuckle weakly and moved to sit near the other girl. "I am sorry that we two should be such trouble to you, miss."

If you're going through Hell,
Keep on going.
Gaaah. Be nice. Be nice be nice be nice.

Vlasia watched Treya with a more gentle gaze this time, pondering over the causes in her head. "Ah, I see.....that very well may be it. If all the dragon has known is one scent, the change might bother him. Seems logical....and do not worry, it is no trouble. Hatchlings can be tricky, sometimes." she stated, smiling lightly.

Stolz, puzzled by this behavior, shamelessly decided to climb up Regi's arm and onto her shoulder, sitting upon his haunches and cocking his head. He let out a little chirp, moving his snout forward to lightly sniff Regi's hair and perhaps coax the other dragon out. Why was he crying so? His owner apparently did not know - the other dragon had not taken the food. Maybe Stolz could find out?

"I -so- didn't do it."

Ix had fallen silent, quickly ignoring Rae in favor of studying this newcomer and her obnoxiously loud dragon. Even through the constant cries the green haired one had remained quiet. It was only when talk of an upsetting smell came about that he finally felt the need to speak up.

"Seriously, so wasn't me. Feel free to blame Rae though! I don't mind!...He might, but eh..."

Ix snickered and gave a friendly nod to Regi and her dragon.

"Nice to meet you, even if your friend there is a taaaaad bit noisy."

Raelan huffed and pulled a tiny vial out of one of the small pockets lining the inside of his jacket, where he temporarily stored various spell components while traveling to and from the home he shared with Ix. Then with a single deft twist he removed the thick cork in one end, dabbed some of the vial's viscous liquid onto one finger, and reached over to smear it across the new hatchling's nose.

He quickly corked the small vial and stowed it back in his jacket, but even that brief exposure had left a very pungent odor in the air. It was truly the worst smelling magical ingredient he had on him, but the little wizard didn't react a bit as the foul smell assaulted the nostrils of everyone within a twenty foot radius. His dragon merely wrinkled it's nose.

"There. Once that wears off your dragon will be just fine with any scent less intrusive than Hagtoad oil."

Feeling slightly defensive with the attention turning towards herself and Treyna, Regi nearly bolted. And then, the smaller male and his vial of Hagtoad oil made the point moot. Fighting the reflex to gag, she nodded her thanks. Treyna, on the other hand, grew silent and began to frantically paw at his nose, trying to figure out what had just happened.

"Thank you," he said as she gave the male a bow. "I'm used to my father's dragons misbehaving, but he never trained them. I'd rather not follow his footsteps."

Turning her head slightly, Regi rubbed her chhek against Treyna's side.

<--Carmina

((Hope you don't mind if I join in!))

Carmina was slightly outside of the radius of stench the group was now giving off, and only the barest whiff of Hagtoad reached her as she made her way back to her small rented room. Nevertheless, it stopped her in her tracks.

"Oh, that is foul!" she exclaimed, wrinkling her nose up, and looking around for the source of the smell. Elohwi, looped around her neck like a draconic necklace, woke with a start as her keener senses also found the smell. Grumbling, she shook herself, and flowed from her looped position to stand easily on Carmina's left shoulder.

"You smell that, too, huh?" Carmina said to Elohwi, absently reaching up to coil one of Elohwi's long whiskers around a forefinger. Elohwi tolerated the gesture for a moment before removing the whisker and pointing with it to the small group from which the stench generated. Carmina turned towards them, noticed the dragons clambering all over the group, and debated whether or not venturing closer to the heart of the odor was worth it. Elohwi seemed to settle the decision by launching herself lightly from Carmina's shoulder and flying, butterfly fashion, over to Regi's shoulder to investigate the distressed Treyna.

Carmina giggled and followed suit, determined not to let the smell get to her. She plucked Elohwi from Regi's shoulder, and placed her firmly back onto her own.
"Sorry about that! Elohwi was curious about the smell. Frankly, so am I. Who decided to use Hagtoad Oil in a public place?"

She smiled amiably, green eyes searching the assorted members of the group, with an apologetic look to Regi, and finally settling on Ix as the most friendly looking one of the bunch. Her question wasn't accusatory, simply curious.
